It's just that the in the mask, the purple fabric ends before the golden spike.
The spike is in the Garo Boss too, it's just closer to the body and thus looks less like a beak. When Link wears it, the fact that he has a neck makes it more noticeable.
@Peach64: Yeah, I feel a bit like that too. The Wii U VC does do some kind of magic, and if you were bothered to rip your cartridge (or you could just - CENSORED), Project 64 has a few tricks up its sleeve too. Even when the 3DS Citra emulator is finalized and everyone has a PC fast enough to run it, there's only so much they can do with textures designed for 2011 hardware.
No mention of gyroscopic aiming? It made hunting Big Poes easier. OoT 3D is definitely the superior version. Gyro aiming, items on the touch screen, ability to redo boss fights, and the addition of Master Quest.
Of course OoT3D is not groundbreaking. It's just a remake of an old game.
No one playing OoT for the first time (now) will find any version of it to be super innovative or unique. So I guess it's one of those "you had to be there" things.
The mood lighting really got wrecked from what I've seen in Majora's Mask 3D. Some of the moods were really watered down there.
What's most important to note is that the art style was fundamentally changed for the both of them. Ocarina of Time and MM's original assets were somewhere between realism and anime character designs, whereas the 3D versions took a hard turn toward anime territory.

That's definitely true. You do have to go back and compare them to notice it though. The remakes are just a lot more colourful. I think they look better though. There's always Twilight Princess if you want that macabre thing going on.

Macabre only in part. Though the lighting, filters, and character design make TP a much different... beast... than even old OoT aesthetically.
Anyway, about the N64 titles, they didn't simply get more colorful. Areas like Gyorg's boss room actually got brighter and less colorful. But, yes, on the whole the colors grew bolder and more plastic-y.
Originals. I would rather play on tv, plus I have an original cartridge so no loss of the gerudo symbol, no loss of the chanting in the fire temple...etc. Plus I like the colors in the original better. The game controls better on the N64 for me as well. I like the 3ds versions but I prefer the originals. Not nostalgia talking either...recently beat both again on the n64.

I'm a Dream Fighter. Perfume is Love, Perfume is Life.
3DS remakes because of the enhanced visuals, better frame rate and well-crafted 3D effect, the best the console has offered me this far. Plus, Majora's Mask gets a lot of extras.
I really don't like the navigation bar of Nintendo Life continuously reappearing while browsing!!
