Maybe it's been discussed before but I don't know why Sega isn't looking, as a publisher on Nintendo, at the current popularity and proliferation of Nintendo's Fire Emblem, and seeing the business sense in returning to form with Shining Force. The joy from fans of classic Sega, the sales uptake caused by Fire Emblem "fever". Where is Sega's answers to Nintendo these days??
This would be a dream come true for me, and there is no reason why it should not work. Nintendo and Sega have co-developed projects before. Why can they not have Camelot revisit the Shining Force series with Sega to publish and Atlus to do the localization? If this happened I would like to see a new entry first (Shining Force 4) and then a remake of Shining Force 3 with all three parts in one package.
I love Shining Force. I'd definitely buy a new one as long as it is traditional Shining Force and not something like Shining Force Feather.
Or literally any Shining Force game that has been made since Shining Force 3...I mean, the action-RPGs on the PS2 were kind of fun, but only kind of....
@CanisWolfred I wasn't even aware of the PS2 Shining Force games. Apparently they haven't been released in Europe and I didn't have a PS2 at the time anyway. I was waiting for Shining Force Feather when I first heard of it but it ended up being really different and it didn't release outside of Japan. I don't think there are other Shining games with Force in their title after Shining Force 3 aside from the three already mentioned. I have only played Shining Force 1 (both the original and the remake on GBA), 2, The Sword of Hajya and outside of the Force series I've tried Shining Soul 2.
Shining Force III is awesome. It is similar to FE: Fates in that there are three different games that make up SF3, however, they are not alternate story lines. They are concurrent story lines that intersect and affect each other. I played scenario 1 (Synbios story line) on the Saturn back in the day. It was the only one available in English at the time. A couple of years ago I played scenario 2 (Medion story line) using a fan translated ISO and the SSF emulator. I haven't played scenario 3 in English yet.

There's a bunch that stuck in Japan...but I'm repeatedly told they're stuck there because they suck. Also, you forgot about the fighting game on Steam, I think...but that also kinda sucked...
@RatKing64 Is scenario 3 in English yet? I've been waiting forever for that...
@CanisWolfred
Yes, Scenario 3 and the Bonus Disc are both in English. They have them burned on CDs to eventually play with SSF on my PC. However, I am holding out hope that eventually there will be a Saturn emulator on Vita so that I can play them on the go. Besides, the grainy Saturn graphics would look better on a smaller screen.
On a different note, I have thought more about it and I doubt that Nintendo would be interested in letting Camelot work on new Shining Force games. The Mario sports games are very lucrative for them and I am sure that they will want Camelot focused on that for the next while. I suspect that Mario Golf will show up on Switch fairly early in the system's life. Besides, they have Fire Emblem to nicely fill the same niche that Shining Force would be going for.
That is because any game beyond Shining Force III was not made by Camelot Software Planning. Sega has no company to develop, but more importantly write the games. Although it might benefit Sega to License the title to Nintendo. I would rather see a new chapter in the Golden Sun saga instead though to be honest and since it is owned by Nintendo/Camelot, it is much more likely.
