I don't understand why Nintendo didn't just send the codes to all Platinum members instead of just a select few. If they sent them to all the Platinum members I'd be playing it right now.

Not here for the codes, as I received them and shared most of them with friends. It seems to me that a fair way to share codes if you don't have close friends to use them is to post them online, not sending them via e-mail (a trade it's a diferent story). If you post them publicly you know the first person how still doesn't have it will use it. This prevents people who want to collect and maybe sell them at high prices.
