Can we stop calling these remakes, they are ports plain and simple.
Majora's Mask 3D has significant differences from the original such as the removal of fast Zora Link swimming and the largely extended Bombers Notebook so remakes are a valid term.
Isn't graphics facelift alone enough reason to say remake. This looks far better then the original.
Yes and that works for Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Star Fox 64. For Donkey Kong Country Returns and Xenoblade Chronicles, the remakes have worse graphics and would probably be the same for Twilight Princess and other Wii games.
The info supposedly comes from multiple GameStop employees...

We have enough remakes.. we litteraly can't make every game for the wii u or 3DS a remake of something we've already played.. every direct/presentation is, "We have a new zelda game!.. a remake of an old zelda game!"
Up next, skyward sword 3D as a main title for the N3DS! I mean seriously.. how many new first party titles have we even had since the 3ds and wii u launched.. nothing other than link between worlds? We have a zelda u coming up eventually but tbh it looks nothing like a zelda title from what we seen so far.. which can be for better or for worse and I'm leaning towards the latter.

Okay...this all came from my dad's shoe who works at Sony of Antarctica.
Melee HD confirmed for the WiiStationOne, releasing December 31st, 2999, same day as Half Life 3.
Will feature Dante from the Devil May Cry Series, the entire MLP cast, Sora Cloud, Goku, Batman, Shrek and Knuckles.
There is nothing wrong with these ports/remakes, they are made by external teams in collaboration with Nintendo while Nintendo can make new games.
Dunno about anyone else, but my personal concern with all these remakes isn't that they're wasting time and resources, it's that they could end up burning people out on Zelda. Yes, each game is sort of different from the last, but the format of dungeons, item, master sword, dungeons can wear some people out on the series. See: guitar hero and slow declining sales of call of duty

Well, although I don't consider Ocarina of Time 3D a full remake, is the first "remake" of that 1998 game, because the GameCube version was a slightly improved port and not available for everybody (it was included in The Wind Waker Limited Edition and given away by Club Nintendo as a collector's item). Majora's Mask 3D is exactly the same story (but it wasn't included in The Wind Waker Limited Edition).
About not making something totally fresh, I don't think it's bad that a game is too classic. Actually, sometimes the classic formula is better than the newer one, and this applies to New Super Mario Bros. series and Skyward Sword. The important thing is that new things are built over a formula that is good and works. E.g, a Zelda game can be classic but the dungeons, characters and story can still be innovative. Both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are classic but the dungeons, characters and story are all innovative. These games are good enough to deserve a slightly improved port/remake.
It's good for those who don't have them but I wouldn't buy the same games several times, like Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Wii and Wii U or Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and Xenoblade 3D on 3DS because none of them is better than the original games (3D effect apart), but both Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora's Mask 3D are better than the N64 versions in many ways. Plus, Grezzo did the best 3D effect I've seen on 3DS this far.
They should stop with Zelda remakes. But if they are already making a TP remake I hope that at least it's like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arHNcSMXaBk
TP on New 3DS would look basically the same as the original and 3DS would get four Zelda remakes.
This would be the third Zelda remake on 3DS, A Link Between Worlds is a new game.

@VanillaLake You're not referring to Awakening as a remake are you?
No! I just said it's one of my favourite 3DS title as well as Ocarina of Tïme 3D and, from now on, Majora's Mask 3D. Those three.
So, Fire Emblem Awakening is my favourite original 3DS title and Fire Emblem Awakening, Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora's Mask 3D are my favourite 3DS titles. I include Majora's Mask 3D because the original N64 version is one of my favourite games ever and I assume Grezzo did a brilliant job once again.

Guitar Hero is a very different situation. Activision released 7 games in 2009, that's completely different from Nintendo's 2 Zelda games every 2 years.

I admit that the example was a bit extreme, but we had Wind Waker, Link Between Worlds, and Hyrule Warriors last year. And if this rumor is true, we'll have MM3D, TP3D, and Zelda U (I sort of expect a hyrule warriors "Complete edition" sometimes this year). I just think they should cut it back a bit.
