I really need to remember details more. I was leveling up my latest team members last night, but my Riolu didn't evolve even after reaching level 50. So I checked his friendship. It was maxed out. I tried a Rare Candy. Nothing happened.

Cut to this morning where I check Bulbapedia. Riolu evolves into Lucario when leveled up with high friendship, during the day.

In less derpish news while XP grinding last night my Gastrodon, who was level 33 at the time, tanked a Blizzard from a 63 Milotic and only lost half his HP. Pretty dang impressive.

I'm trying to evolve togepi give an egg move to pikachu (wish) to give to an eevee... massaged it, gave it EV enhancing items, friendship berries.. little brat still don't love me..

Agreed... I won't use one if it's not perfect, because I'm better off just using a perfect non-shiny one.
Also I like most of the normal colours than the shiny ones... they just look a bit weird most of the time.

IKR

Some of them like solrock and aegislash are amazing but ninjask, volcarona, etc look awful.. Togekiss doesn't even look like a shiny at all..

It's not a bad one, but I actually think I still prefer the normal green.
Of course I'm not saying all the normal forms are better, I just think a majority of them are.
I wanted to try breeding a shiny to test out the Shiny charm, and it was like who do I breed? Couldn't think of any shiny that I really wanted.

@BenAV you could perhaps get a shiny Elekid only because of shiny Electivire. XD

Also: Yanmega and Dusknoir also look pretty cool candidates to choose from IMO.

In the end it doesn't matter what I breed for, my game won't give it to me.

I went for Pinsir just because I tend to use it as a Mega, and if I have one shiny it might as well be my Mega.
I now have a few boxes of five-six IV Pinsirs, but no shiny.

Shiny charm doesn't make a huge difference. It's like using O-power bargain lv.1 in shops with a minor effect you can see.

Without shiny charm..and using masuda method.. I filled up 20 boxes! of honedges trying to hatch a shiny.. then I filled another eight or so of venipede for a scolipede..

nothing..

And then all this IV breeding and using my forgien ditto still didn't get me a shiny in the progress.

But a few days ago I found a shiny bellsprout during EV training..terrible stats and I wanted a victreebel on my sun team.. bummer..

Charizard's worth considering, and at least that'd mean I wouldn't have to worry about the ability.
Wouldn't go for Gengar though, considering I can't use it in Singles if playing by Smogon rules.

Use Friendship O-Power while riding around the Lumiose City circle (where you'd normally go to hatch eggs) and have it hold the Soothe Bell (you can get it at Shalor City I think). Gets the job down pretty quick. Or have it switch out during several battles. That works too.

@ShadowLugia I do have several Shellos left over including one with perfect 5IVs (but the ability is wrong, though you can easily breed to get the other one). Its also the rare green/blue variant.

If you're available later today I can give it to you, and I ask for nothing in return, just whatever you pick.
