Hey SAGA is coming out on the eShop soon. Never mind, any list that doesn't have it at the top is horribly wrong.
How dare you put a collection that has lag on a fantastic game when that game originally didn't have any, in your top 5 of any list. It should be in top 10-6

Pretty sure their list was pertaining to downoad-only titles, so it wouldn't be eligible no matter how good it is (as a retail & download game)

The Denpa Men is fun, but it suffers from horrible enemy balancing.
Out of curiosity, could you give some examples? The only time I ran into an enemy that seemed way overpowered for the area was the rays in the 3rd dungeon (water). Other than that, everything seemed to be right on track with my current level.
Even when it came to bosses, the only one that was way out of league from the recommended level, is the final set of bosses in the final post story dungeon (which isn't really that atypical for a JRPG). I don't think those few instances should keep it from being on a "best of eShop" list (or should even keep it from ranking near the top).
Also, & I'm not directing this directly at you (since I don't know if you've brought it up before), but I really don't understand why people seem to get into a fit about the difficulty of the Moss Demon boss. I beat it my first time.

Mutant Mudds seems as good a choice for first place as any. It has tight controls, it's easy to play, it's challenging enough, it pays homage to 8-bit games and the Virtual Boy, and it does a good job of showcasing the system's glasses free 3D. In fact I usually turn off the 3D but not when I play Mutant Mudds.
I'm glad to see that Mutant Mudds got the top spot. I just cleared all the first region's CGA levels a few minutes ago. They certainly raise the difficulty while still maintaining the charm I have experienced in the rest of the game. While I don't use 3D for any game anymore, screen's so smudgy, I experienced the best 3D with Mutant Mudds. All in all, Mutant Mudds offers 60 levels of charming visuals, sound and difficulty. I'm looking forward to getting the new 100% in this game, and playing its eventual sequel.

I never cared for Mutant Mudds.....at all. When I first saw the trailer for it before release I thought 'awesome' but now that I played it...........extremely disappointed. Not a bad game, but could've been more to it, MUCH more to it.

Before anyone gets me wrong, I don't dislike Mudds. I actually really like it, but I just don't see how it's better than the other great sprite platformers on eShop.
I'll admit, it has loads of levels (easily the longest with the DLC), the music is catchy, the controls are tight, & the 3D is absolutely beautiful.
With that said, I personally found it too flawed in other areas to give it my #1. With leaps of faith & off screen enemy attacks, it's way too cheap in it's later phases (I felt VVVVVV, MSF!, & Cave Story all offered a comparative difficulty, with no cheap tricks, or in the very least, much less of them). It's retro look comes off as looking too fake (as someone who grew up with an NES, SNES, & Genesis, I feel like the other sprite based games on the service looked much more convincing in their retro-ness, even if that's not particularly what they were going for. Mudds looks cheap & "plasticy" to me in comparison). Finally, it's much more unoriginal (in both gameplay & theme) than any other sprite based platformer on eShop.
Again, I think it's a fine game (and would probably list somewhere in my top 10), but I just don't get how people can act like it's the best platformer on the service, when it does nothing new, and isn't very convincing with it's retro style.

I personally think mudds is a bad version of a mega man game. Slow paced, no bosses, and basically one weapon throughout the whole game. Now I haven't played the granny levels but I didn't want to finish the main game to even get to the granny levels. For all I know they are much better. I don't think this game sells many copies in 1986!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Well, I'd rather have Mudds in first over Pushmo. Maybe I'm just biased towards platformers, but Mutant Mudds is easily my favorite eShop game that I own..

Actually, that's why I loved it... It's good to see a more, just, simple game- one that goes right back to the roots of its genre- coming out IMO. That's why Uprising isn't my favorite game any more, I just prefer a game you can pick up and play without getting used to anything complex or lots of different stuff(I do love Uprising but overall the "freaking dash and burn" style of Skylanders was my preference, because you can just pick it up and play it and have fun even if you haven't yet in a while and got rusty with your bow or club). I guess it just comes down to sheer opinion anyway.

I'd still take a laggy version of BIT.TRIP over pretty much anything else ever, but I can see why that would be a deal breaker for most people. I definitely noticed the lag in most games, but for me personally it never drastically hindered their playability.
