I personally think they should've combined marvel and Zen pinball.
I agree.
They're both worth considering, but they feel too much like the same game to give them both a spot on any list.
It's sort of like with Pokemon games.
I'd have VVVVVV at about number five on my personal list, but considering my top four are already mentioned then it's the best of what's left for me.
Mutant Mudds and Art of Balance both seem alright but pretty average to me.
I'd personally rather see Hana Samurai, Dillon's Rolling Western, Aeroporter, Picross e, SpeedThru or maybe even Freakyforms (or maybe Crimson Shroud and Hydroventure which I'm yet to play) on the list than Mutant Mudds or Art of Balance...
I personally rather see any of those as well Ben! As much as I like Art of Balance its not in my top four either but we all know what I would put number one!
The top two spots will probably be a toss up between Mudds, VVVVVV, Fractured Soul, & Art of Balance: Touch.
My guess is that they'll have VVVVVV at #2, and Mudds at #1 (don't particularly agree with that order, but that's what I'm predicting from them).
It'd be nice to see Fractured Soul make it on instead of Mudds, but I just don't see it happening. I don't think AoB:T will make it for the fact that both Pushmo & Crashmo (what are generally herald as the eShop's best puzzlers) have already been named (if the list was by one particular editor, I could see them happening to like AoB:T more, but all the site's editors are voting for the list, I believe).
I believe Sakura Samurai, Dillon's Rolling Western, & NightSky are out of the picture (seeing as how they all got average reviews, that means we know there's at least one editor for each title who would have rated them low, most likely writing them out for a top 2 spot).

If someone were to walk up to me on the street and ask me what should I Dow.load from the eshop I would have to say download this list backwards and start with #10 to be honest. At the very least most of this list can only be downloaded on the 3ds eshop and that's saying something!
As much as I like eshop games I still say #10 on wiiware would blow away #1 on the eshop! It is getting much better though.
Oh, I forgot to mention, in theory Crimson Shroud could be in contention as well, but it might have released after a certain deadline (if there was one), & if not, I doubt enough staff members have played it, to give it a significant amount of votes.

It would be awesome if Mutant Mudds makes it into the Top 2, as I think it is one of the best games on the 3DS. It is actually my most played game that is for the 3DS. Earlier this year, I found myself immersed into its retro charm and did back to back runs on multiple occasions. Its return to basics is appealing and its sense of freedom is addictive. I also just love the characters of Max and his grandma. Got a gamer, who's active, that goes out with a water cannon to save his world from sentient pollution. As for Max's grandma, got a grandma that loves spending time with her grandson, showing us that gaming's for all ages, and will put it all on the line to protect that grandson. I never have enjoyed playing as an elderly character as much before. I should really revisit Mutant Mudds, and get the game's Grandma levels DLC, as I have not played it for a while.
Yeah, you totally stole my thoughts. You should definetly play the Grannie levels, they're fantastically gruesome.
I say that Art of Balance has a better chance then VVVVVV if they realize that it's a particularly shoddy port.
But they won't.
Calling VVVVVV a shoddy port is debatable. The content missing is mostly player levels that any small publisher would leave out of a non-PC version of any indie game, Nicalis included. While the glitches are a valid complaint, at least Nicalis bothered to fix them (I even told someone who developed one of the 18 included player levels about a design error in their level that made one of the shiny trinkets impossible to obtain, and that was fixed in the update too). The product that is currently on store shelves is fantastic, glitch-free, and is a great content value for the price, IMO. Nothing "shoddy" about it.
Also, yeah, Mudds isn't as good as VVVVVV, but it's still a great game. Happy it's gonna get the number one spot.
None of the missing content is player levels though you don't have the option to download them. It's the level editor (and said download options). Plus, for no reason, it costs $3 more then the PC title. A fantastic game, glitches fixed, but keep in mind that an almost broken title was handed out to the public for months and it costs more while offering nothing but crappy 3D.
As for Mudds being #1, that all comes down to opinion. I personally wish a game with more originality was first, but whatever.
This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.
Well, they've just officially named Mutant Mudds as their #1.
10. The Denpa Men: They Came by Wave
9. Zen Pinball 3D
8. Crashmo
7. Cave Story
6. Liberation Maiden
5. Marvel Pinball 3D
4. Pushmo
3. Mighty Switch Force!
2. VVVVVV
1. Mutant Mudds
Personally don't agree with the top spot, but I guess it just goes to show that the eShop is building a library of great titles to choose from (seeing as how other great games like Art of Balance: Touch!, NightSky, & others weren't mentioned).
