Topic: Mighty Switch Force -- New game by WayForward for the Nintendo eShop!

I'm interested in a new Mighty series game from WayForward, especially on the eShop. I guess Milky Way was indeed their last game on DSiWare.

Mighty Flip Champs and Mighty Milky Way were both great titles, hopefully Switch Force is on that level.

I see they're keeping the tradition alive, with yet another beautiful heroine, named Patricia Wagons.

So, what's your take on this?

Perhaps, but I'm not a huge of WayForward's work, so perhaps not.

SWEET! I don't care about the title, characters, or concept. All you had to say was "WayForward is developing a game on the eShop" and I would have been totally sold! I love WayForward and I'm sure I'll love this. The use of 3D from that link sounds really interesting. Too bad that in order to get this game Nintendo will have to...ya know...start actually adding 3DS specific games to the eShop!!!!

I am big on WayForward. Just this year I picked up Thor for DS, MMW DSi and SpongeBob Squigglepants and 3DS. I don't even like SpongeBob or Thor (as characters) that much.

Sounds like Wayforward has hit gold again! I can't wait!

im gonna say maybe ill play this but im not 100% sure yet

Some details I've found for this game:

• features a cute, but feisty female lead
• complete various action and puzzle solving stages
• the focus is more on action
• main character is a law-enforcement officer, Patricia Wagon
• Metroid-like gameplay stages
• eliminate Space Hooligans
• unique puzzle mechanic that gets players watching in stereo and exploring solutions in the third dimension
• jump and shoot with block-switching puzzles sprinkled throughout
• team is made up entirely of Contra 4 veterans
• main character is a robot
• Space Hooligans are a group of hostile lifeforms created by the five Hooligan Sisters - dangerous criminal masterminds who masquerade as ditzy girls
• puzzle example:

In a simple puzzle, you might need to cross a pit that’s too wide to jump past. By using your Switch power, you can pull distant blocks closer to the screen in 3D and use them as stepping stones. However, any blocks on the playfield will retreat into the background. That’s all pretty basic stuff. Where it gets complicated is when you have to think several steps ahead. Will the blocks underneath your feet pull away? Will the blocks in the background zoom up and smash you? What will happen if you pull blocks out from under an enemy? Puzzles are built around these kinds of mysteries, and the interesting and unexpected outcomes. ...After reaching a high ledge you might find yourself face to face with an enemy. Or to remove a foe you might need to drop him into a new area by switching out blocks, and then fill him full of lead. Even firing your weapon can be a puzzle, since pellets can impact on “switchable” objects.

• bottom screen features the Hooligan Tracker, which is a digital compass that points a way to enemies
• find all enemies and then you can head to the extraction point
• levels are longer than previous games, but the overall experience is a little bit shorter
• one boss is an auto-switching monster

They had me at the metroid-like stages. I will watch out for this one

Believe it or not, I couldn't get into Shantae on GBC, it bored me, loved making $130 on a $5 purchase though last year. Like Birdman I can't get into their work. They have great ideas and they execute them well enough for sure, but the style they put them together I get bored and at times annoyed with it as I just wish X area is over or something. I hope this game comes out soon and does well though, 3ds needs some 3dsware already...anything, it's unacceptable to just shovel 1 gameboy game a week and nothing else.

Hmmm... Australia seems to have missed out on Shantae and Mighty Milky Way. I'm not gonna hold my breath about this one coming to the Australian Eshop. All we seem to have is Mighty Flip Champs.

Mighty Flip Champs was not that good, but I really enjoyed Shantae, and I'm looking forward to this!

I really and seriously enjoyed Mighty Flip Champs and Shantae Risky's Revenge! Now, I know that I'm going to be looking forward to Might Switch Force! I hope they upload some screenshots sooner or later.

I wonder if we shall see a3D trailer for Mighty Switch Force in the eShop anytime soon? And boy would it be nice if we got a special 3D Shantae game on down the road. Personally, I'd like to see a Shantae spin-off in which Rottytops is the star of the show.

This game does let me think of Shantae: A big, nice, Metroid gameplay platformer!

I really liked the new screenshots that WayForward posted on the Mighty Flip Champs Facebook page. Hopefully they'll announce a release date soon and post a 3D trailer in the eShop.

Wayforward really makes sprite-based games look so modern. Keep it up :3
