The dude never battled me. I tried many times to set up a date, and many times he said yes, but he never showed. I got annoyed with him and haven't been to NintendoFuse since.

Tri's been getting a free pass for every round so far but if he gets another one here, he'll be facing me and there's only one way to get through that round!
