Topic: Games with DLC on 3DS - what are they and would you buy them?

I have New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Fire Emblem which both feature DLC. I've downloaded some but not all.

Would people seriously avoid even buying games that contain DLC even if they don't have to download anything?

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

No... If I don't want the DLC... but if I like the game... what do I care if there's DLC or not?

I have:

  • Fire Emblem Awakening, but I'll wait until I finish it to see if I'll buy the paid DLC(Bonus Box doesn't count )
  • MH3U(though I think that "DLC" doesn't count since it's all free stuff )
I guess that's it. DLC is cool what I dislike is when they remove things that were suposed to be in the game to put in the DLC... or when they start making the DLC even before the game's development is even done

DLC levels won't stop me from loving a game. DLC characters on the other hand...

What if there isn't possible to buy DLC characters (aka NSMB2)

In my opinion I am a huge supporter of DLC because I love the feeling of beating a game and then realizing you can still continue to have fun with it once the game is over. I also think it would be pretty cool if developers made DLC to add to the story like questions in it that were not answered it could make them lots more money and give the players what they want!
Games I Own with DLC:
-Fire Emblem: Awakening
-Shin Megami Tensei IV
-New Super Mario Bros 2
I have bought DLC from all these games and I like it thus far and I think that game developers should continue to add DLC like these

Now for something completely different!
Still got it memorized?

Well, technically, Pokemon's always had DLC. There's a downloadable Torchic event going on right now.

Currently playing: Pokémon Y, Rune Factory 4

i think i have never purchased dlc for a game. i would only buy dlc if it is something as big as an add-on

I'll still buy the game and just not buy the DLC if I don't want it. Fire Emblem though has emptied my wallet

Fire Emblem Awakening and Theatrhythm. Both are examples that DLC isn't always the horrible overpriced content that was held from the original release everyone acts like it is. I'll admit some FEA DLC is a little pricey for a single map, but most of it's pretty awesome.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

No, because that's dumb. Like, maybe if the DLC was a bad example of it (on-disc DLC being the major example) and I was equally interested in another game sure, but other than that, could not care less. The closest example I've bought would be Arkham City and the whole Catwoman thing, and I'll just let you search for laughing gifs to use on yourself if you think that was a bad purchase.

As long as it's optional, I'm not against DLC or micro-transactions.

I have FE:A & love it (outside of free stuff, I've never gotten any DLC, and don't feel like I'm missing anything).

As long as it doesn't result in a watered down experience, it's fine with me.

Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed also had a bit of DLC (although I feel sorry for anyone who purchased that on 3DS lol)

I wonder why everyone correlates DLC with an incomplete or unsatisfying game. Games can be perfectly unsatisfying without DLC

Also, legitimate question - are there any examples of mandatory DLC? I can't think of one off the top of my head.

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

On disc DLC doesn't bother me. On-disc or off-disc, it was going to be DLC either way and was something I was going to download regardless.

I'll take on-disc day 1 dlc over download day 1 dlc. Cuts back on download times lol.
