We will get it two days before our friends across the pond at March 25th. But no sign of a price yet. If the US price of $249,95 is anything to go by, I'm positive it won't cost too much. I'm expecting about the same in euros. About 250-260 euros.
HMV at £229, Games Basement at £159.99 and right now, everywhere else such as Game, Amazon, Gamestation, Zavvi, Play etc... don't have anything in terms of price
I think in Sweden the only store I saw that had a price set it was 2499 SEK. That's a LOT more than in the US

I have never started a thread on NL. Maybe I'm scared of dragons and chickens.

I was beginning to worry that it would be more than it is - there were reports of a £300 price tag flying around! £230's a bit more that I'd have liked, but it's not going to stop me from getting one. I'm still not pre-ordering until I know the launch line-up, though.
I'm going to put off my 3DS preorder until the next model is out. The combination of battery, uninteresting release games, region locking and price have put me right off.
In the mean time, I'm looking out for a used PSP and new copy of Tactics Ogre (a truly brilliant game that Square Enix wouldn't dream of inflicting on us Nintendo gamers), and may buy that in a few months. I'd have to do some research on the games, because although Tactics Ogre is a brilliant, brilliant game, I'm a little weary of buying a console for just one game.
I can't believe it's costing more than the wii did...best deal I can find atm is at ASDA who are bundling it with Super Monkey Ball for just under £220. This is not cool. Amazon have a low price guarantee, but I doubt that they are going to reduce the price...

I know how you guys feel. =( I was going to save for it but seeing the price now, I'd rather just go and buy a Wii (I still don't own one, insane I know)
I feel like it's been pretty common for that to happen. Due to the recession, the dollar is super weak right now, but we haven't seen much, if any, inflation over here. Keep that in mind when comparing prices to US dollars. I could pretty much guarantee that there's NO WAY nintendo could sell very many 3DS's if they made the price any higher over here. We also don't have VAT. You're probably better off comparing it to other system's prices to get an idea of how much Ninty is screwing you this time.
Well, the GBA, GBASP, Micro, DS and DSLite all had the exact same retail price of around £90 at release. Now I know they can't really do that anymore due to inflation but it was a pretty stable price. The DSi went up to what, 150? Just for a few cameras and the SD stuff.
Not even counting the XL which was £30 more. Do feel free to correct my prices. This isn't a rant to say the prices of those should still be £90 but I really wish it had been around 150/160 like the conversions =(
I cannot believe that it's likely going to cost more than the Nintendo Wii at launch. Absolutely ridiculous.
Geez, I know!!! Well, at least with the price being so insanely high for a toy (as someone else said on one of these threads) I don't feel so bad about putting off getting one. Maybe they'll come out with one with a decent sized touch screen. Until then, or until the price takes a good drop, I'll stick with my DSi, thanks.
