So 3DS had its best software year yet I think and has been selling well. Because of some of this years releases I was able to finally get a friend of mine to buy a 3DS. I actually had been telling him about it since launch but he always just shrugged the notion as he's never owned a handheld before. But now he loves it! His first Nintendo handheld! Another friend of mine who I'm also trying to get to buy a 3DS was shocked that I ever convinced him to actually buy one. slowly I will finally know people with Nintendo devices! Hahaha!!
So I'm wondering if this year made it possible for anyone else to successfully recommend 3DS to someone ?
nope almost everyone I know either dislike videogames entirely, play only on the PC(those hardware freak PC gamers that say all 3DS games look and sound the same no matter how many different games you show them) or already had a 3DS....
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

Yes. Three people. And I bought another. So I guess I was the reason for Nintendo selling four 3DS's this year. I'm expecting the check in the mail, Ninty.
Lots of censorship here...

The mid year promotion for the buy a 3DS get a free downloadable game convinced my parents to buy a 3DS for their granddaughter, I just acted as a consultant.
I convinced 3 people to get a 3DS this year. Two of them were complete haters from the start. After having a blast with Fire Emblem, Pokemon and Animal Crossing in front of them they broke down. The third person had been on the fence since the launch but couldn't resist Fire Emblem. The previous mentioned duo are a couple and have been spouting their hatred of Nintendo for years. So when they got them they didn't tell me at first. When I found out I wrote down the serial codes for their systems and registered them on my Club Nintendo account. They don't deserve those points anyway. I've got two more people hemming and hawing over getting a Wii U as well.
TLDR; I apply mad pressure on the people around me to buy Nintendo.
I might have convinced a couple people, but really? Pokemon did most of the convincing for me. I was just around to reassure them of the overall system value.
I finally got my brother to take the plunge. It was more a matter of money and the best deal with him! He got the Zelda bundle at Target for the 150$ deal! Doesn't hurt that I let him barrow my system and 25 plus games!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Yes I did. I had many conversations with a friend who is learning Japanese about what good practice it is playing RPGs and things on a Japanese 3DS. She announced a few days ago that she is getting a Japanese 3DSLL. She already uses a Japanese shopping service so she got a Pokemon Special Edition and several other games (lucky her) - I got mine in Japan and only rarely am able to get games.
Anyway I am really happy that she did as we will be able to share our 3DS gaming experiences.
PS - she is doing really well - I was able to convince her to buy a Japanese 3DS completely IN Japanese. (I wasn't really pressuring her to buy it - just telling her about the fun I was having).
I convinced myself to use some of my birthday money to get one of those nice looking Pokemon ones to replace my old broken XL.
Most of my friends already own one though, so not too many people that I need to convince.
Yes. I convinced myself to buy a 3ds and sell my ps vtia. This is my first post on this site too...
I liked the VITA, but there were 3 big problems with this handheld;
1. Its the most uncomfortable thing I have ever held in my life. Even trigger grips did not help. I ended up selling it for a really cheap price to a friend just so it wouldnt give me carpal tunnel.
2. very few games that are actually worth while. Gravity rush and killzone mercenery come to mind. thats about it.
3. Priorprietary SD cards to scalp customers. Paid an arm and a leg for a 32 GB storage card. Sucks b/c VITA games are huge so that fills up after like 6-7 games.
So now im getting the Zelda 3ds XL bundle for xmas. I already have 3 games ordered and the 64GB SDXC card for it. I played it for 3 minutes at my friends house before putting it down and saying: where the f*** do i buy one??
My next step will be to get a wii u and get all games i missed out on (including Wii games).
