Topic: Apparently Nintendo has been receiving calls from people complaining about NO Standard 3DS in NA.

There's no official article about this but there's a topic on gamefaq that someone claiming that people have been calling or "swamping" Nintendo with phone calls. Complaining to Nintendo about no Standard 3DS models in North America.

That made me laugh.. They don't have to do anything.

The person I talked to, and others have also talked to, said they were surprised by the number of people interested and that they were definitely considering all of their options and listening to their customers.

EDIT: By I talked to, I meant my friend talked to with me listening on speaker phone. I didn't actually talk but heard the conversation in its entirety.

They don't have to do anything but if this continues for say a timescale like #gamergate I think they will do something. (Even if it is only direct from them).

Depends on the quantity and dedication of the people doing it I suppose.

Interesting to see what happens. (If they are going to have employ loads more people due to the timewasting caused by this that might be a factor).

I am crossing my fingers because I really want that regular New 3DS.

NOA doesn't have to do anything but they would be very foolish not to release the standard New 3DS later on this year. Perhaps the complaints will make NOA realize their mistake. I'm going to buy a New 3DS XL but I can definitely see why people are furious about this.

I've been planning on calling them actually, from my original Gameboy (still got that old phone number on the back and that sucker is still valid!) I am glad though that they do seem to hear the cries of anger. As my profile picture suggests I do have a 3DS XL (and I absolutely love it) which is far and away better than the old 3DS, but the New 3DS Standard looks to be a prefect "middle ground." Sure the 3DS XL isn't as big as say an Atari Lynx, but it definitely needs a large coat pocket to fit it for travel, Standard New 3DS, I haven't seen it in person and it too would probably be in a case, but still...it might just fit!!! And Faceplates, for the love of faceplates, seriously those faceplates alone made go from XL to standard, that wood one especially. I'll probably shoot them a call later today, as a handheld gamer/collector and Nintendo enthusiast, I'm not going to let them off easy on this screw up...

Companies don't have to do anything just like you don't have to buy the product if you not happy with it, The first goal for any company out there even Nintendo is to make money. If something isn't going to make them money or cost them to much in the long run well then they aren't going to do it.

That minus I want the second, but may not even get that one. All I know is the lack of a smaller size, the lack of friend messaging on Miiverse & the ability to substitute friend codes with NNIDs online, & few games making use of the new CPU & extra VRAM are hurting my interest in it. As personal advice to Nintendo, these things need to be fixed to lure potential customers such as me over.

Exactly. Economics right there, plain and simple. Nintendo doesn't have to, but just saying, if you want to make some money, someone else could fill the demand for these things, and upgrading my laptop is looking very tempting right now. (Did I mention I don't have a lot of money?)

...And when they release the normal New 3DS here and they complain that they release too many systems...or something.

I wrote a complaint and got a form letter sent to me within 2 minutes, lol.

Everybody now complaining is going to eventually cave and buy the XL anyway.

I'm not sure how this is difficult to grasp, but Nintendo isn't obliged to release the regular New 3DS.

If they have their reasons to think that it isn't a smart move to release the regular model alongside the XL, then so be it.

idk I dnot want a XL because its a bit too big for my daily uses. A normal one would be good, aswell as cheaper.

Honestly I would love to see the numbers of sale of 3DS VS 3DS XL as well as the numbers for how many 3DS were traded in for 3DS XL. Once we see those I am sure then it would make sense as to why Nintendo is only bringing out the New 3DS in XL form.

yeah but they never said that it wouldn't come sooner or later. I am disappointed but am sure I will get over it. Still I don't get the decision but get that they don't have to release it here. but I`d like to point that sales had nothing to do with Nintendo of Japan, Australia and Europe's decision to release the smaller one in their respective regions. they still gave people a choice there. Hence why I don't really understand Nintendo of America`s decision at all. But that's nothing new.

Maybe they're doing it on purpose to create demand for the system.

Like they did with Earthbound.
