He was joking...no need to respond aggressively to everything.
Yes, the eShop has less games than there are in the App Store, but that's actually because there's some quality control going on there. There are thousands of terrible apps on the App store, and to be honest I've purchased more downloads on my 3DS than I have on my iPod Touch. The only difference there is that the eShop doesnt boast a huge amount of terrible games as well - it's a tad more respectable in my opinion. Say what you will about iOS gaming - but there are thousands of people out there that arent content simply playing it's games.

There is probably about 100 games (if not more) for each of the 35 eShop games that are of better quality.
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
I agree with dissapointment with Eshop it doesn't just stem from apps but games as well. Right now the Eshop is Running about 80% in just bad software but this seems to be the model now with all the shops (apple and android) load up on horrible software and watch the bucks roll in. My oppinion is nintendo should be doing it better than the other guys and sorry to say they are not
Erm, if we're talking 3DSWare solely here, then no, so far the track record is surprisingly good. Only if we include DSiWare can you say that fairly
Breakdown IMO (some of which I haven't played and I'm basing off reviews)
Bad games: Crazy Chicken Pirates 3D, Touch Battle Tank 3D, Johnny Kung-Fu, Zombie Slayer Diox, Mad Dog McCree, Samurai Sword Destiny
Mediocre/Mixed games: SpeedX 3D, Planet Crashers, Phantom Thief, 3D Solitaire, Bird Mania 3D, Both Mini-golf games, Pyramids, all 5 of the Nikoli games
Good games: Dot Runner, Family Tennis 3D (honestly surprised at the positive reception), Marvel Pinball 3D, Ketzal's Corridors, Order Up, Zen Pinball 3D, Bomb Monkey (also disagree), Colors 3D, Freakyforms, Sakura Samurai, DRW, Mighty Switch Force, Pushmo, VVVVVV, Mutant Mudds, Art of Balance: Touch
That's 19 bad/mediocre games over 15 good games. While it's not the majority good games, I'd say thus far it's doing much better then the average console, and of course some will disagree on placements.
A year and a half and the 3DS has 35 eShop games (you missed Blackjack: Sweet Memories there in the "bad" category).
35.
That's the real story about how poor the reception to the eShop has been.
I think you hit the nail on the head. So there's 20 good eshop games, which is pretty small a number, but then you add in the fact that most people are only going to be interested in a few of those titles if any ( I myself have only purchased 2). It;s not a pretty picture really for the eShop. I hope that turns around, but Nintendo will have to release something huge themselves exclusive to the eShop in order to get anyone interested in it anytime soon.
Well the eShop is still new so I'll let it off there... but the problem with the eShop is there isn't much variety at all. Most of the games are quite shallow at best, except for some really decent games like Zen/Marvel Pinball, Colors! 3D and a few others.
Before the eShop starts making any headway, I think devs really need to be pushing out some quality titles. Once the eShop has a mixed bag of games to choose from I think consumers will start taking a deeper look into the store and at the moment we're barely getting 1 3DSWare per month, so at this rate I don't think the eShop has much of a promising outlook.
