Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

I prefer the JP one. I like the grey world map in the back, and it makes the characters pop. Too much red in the other one. Washes out the characters.

I went for Japan because there's too much red going on in the EU/North America cover.

The Japanese one tells me "this is an RPG and takes place across a large map"

I love Sacred Stones aesthetic and art style. It's up there at the top with Fates and Valentia.

I really hate Ephraims pose in both of these, its just so wierd

Western one wins again here for the more interesting background and for not having Eirika a bit cut off on the side.

Honestly, I like both. I couldn't decide at first, but the local art (to me) is just too busy, plus, I realized, a dragon in the art? Why for this game??
As much as I like the colorful art, the Eastern art just fits better.

I think I prefer the twins centred in the image, with a dragon in the background for good measure. the map in the JP version is okay too. Both box arts are fine.

Not a particularly pretty cover either way, yeah they both look a bit contorted.

never liked the grey bar for us so I generally always like the japan covers.

Was going to say that the English one features Lyon, thus making it better, but then I realized that he's obscured by the Game Boy Advance bar, so I have to go Japan. Maps are cool.

I like the north american one because we get a better view of the female character.(don't judge me lol)

Tough call this week, but I went with Japan for the map in the background.

I like the JP art more.
The map of Magvel is better background than the blurred background in the NA art.

Why is the North American boxart always shown over a European one when they share a vote?

Prefer the NA one. I like how it doesn't cut off Eirika and I like the background colours more than the Japanese boxart.

Almost went NA on this one, but went Japan and they are tied. Hope this stays tied, haven't seen one of those in a while!

Japan for me this week, because I dislike the blurry background, making it feel like the characters have just been slapped on top of it. Both are pretty meh though ^^'

Wow, 50/50. I like them both, but personally the map in the background is what pushes me toward the Japan version.

50/50 after 1009 votes. I think that's fair as this was a tough one. I went with the US/EU one just because the colours are bit more vibrant.

Both of these are very nice. As they share the same key art, the other elements make the difference. The Japanese one is less cramped, but there's also empty space. The NA one has more background detail, but is more cramped by the large logo and side bar. While others point to it as a negative, I really like the color choices for the western cover. The subdued blues and boosted reds and yellows are unusual and helps it stand out for me. I think it works well in this case, so my vote is for the western version.

Japan again for me. Full art is great and the colors are better.

Western one benefits a lot from just having a more interesting background.

Few cases where the western one looks more interesting. The dragon helps a ton, and the brighter colors are more pleasing imo.

Nothing against the NA version (of which, a copy graces my vg shelf), but I like the framing of the Japanese one a little better.

One of the hardest choices yet. They’re both almost good.
I ended up choosing NA because Japan lost a few more points on the messy logo and uneven composition.

Voted Japan. The background on the EU/US is just a garbled mess.

Voted Japan, but I think they're both perfect for their box sizes. i don't think the map would have worked on the square boxes, nor the castle background on the rectangular one.

I'd be curious how these polls would look if there were an option for liking both equally

@PrinceFroggy He's on the main artwork, which the box art is based on. I did analyze it, though, and it seems they chose to leave him out, not obscure him.
