Japanese one is a bit odd, voted for NA/Europe

Like @JohnnyMind said the NA one actually shows a "world" so I choose that one.

NA. Gives the idea of a pocket-sized world. Never realized both used the same picture except Japans' cut it in half and placed on opposite ends.

The Japanese box art feels like the villagers are running because the moon is about to crash.

I don't play older Animal Crossing games for being forced to play everyday or I will lost my villagers & lack of designing, but the USA version cover of Wild World looks better than Japanese version.

I love this game. I played it all summer. Then abruptly stopped when I realized I couldn’t do any more Nook store upgrades until I connected with a friend’s town. No one else plays this anymore! Love so much about the game, but that’s a dumb hindrance to advancing in it. I definitely like the cover art for the North American version much more too but it’s kind of weird too how it emphasizes that when you play, the landscape constantly rolls like you’re on a terrestrial ball. I know they did that in the game due to graphical limitations and it does work, but it’s weird.

Never played this one, but the NA/Europe cover definitely looks best to me and in general I find it to be a very pretty and enticing cover. Makes me want to jump right into some AC!

I think both are great but The world being split in half is a bit strange

I think the Japanese one is trying to depict how you can visit other peoples’ villages with the two worlds. That no-one has picked up on this probably shows it wasn’t a very effective way of conveying that feature!

I kinda sorta like both versions here but the JA version is my pick for this week because it's just an interesting variant of basically the same cover art as the NA and EU versions mainly because it gives me super animal crossing galaxy vibes lol 😆.

NA/EU by sheer virtue that a whole sphere is more visually appealing IMO.

Yeah, NA/EU for me. JP looks more like an amputation result rather than a showing of how each player has their own world

The coloring, lettering, and signage is much better in NA version. Far crisper.

@sketchturner As always, that might be a scanning issue, and not necessarily the colouring choice. Please keep that in mind when voting.

That said, NA EU is still best.

@BulkSlash if there is one thing the comments in these articles have taught me is that most people seem to want/need a very literal, spelled out image for their covers. And Japan doesn’t always like to do that.
Also most people here are from the NA/EU region or one that got the same cover and nostalgia is one hell of a force.

I prefer Japan’s. I like that the logo is given space if nothing else. Both have equal clutter, but somehow the NA/EU logo positioning makes it worse for me.

They're both pretty good and well executed for what they are. And they convey similar vibes. My pick comes down entirely to composition. The west's cover is dominated by the logo, and all the elements surround it like a ring. For the Japanese cover, the eye is drawn down to the logo, but also to the portion below which is the main element of the cover that isn't the logo. I think Japan's cover does a far better job with the composition since the character elements are not stuck on th edges of the frame. Japan's cover is the one I prefer.

Also, 58 to 42 in last week's poll isn't THAT close.

The North American one is so iconic

@Nintendomatt64 It's only a matter of time before we see Animal Crossing: Galaxy Colony and you can also live along with aliens.

Aa for the box arts, despite being the same image, I like both for different reasons, as both actually emphasize their names. The western one shows a World, while the Japanese one encourages the characters to say おいでよ (Oideyo, which can mean "Come here"), implying the distance between players.

I love how Blathers' sister (forgot her name, sorry) had to be relocated to the top of the museum in the Japanese cover.

I put so many hours into this game back in the day! The NA box art gives me a twinge of nostalgia. It's definitely not my favourite entry because that would go to New Leaf. It's the middle evolution of the series and they cut most of the iconic holidays. It had a dark sense of humour like implying that Boondox's charity is fake and lines Tortimer's pockets. Or Lyle being a weasel who scams you into buying insurance so you can access the black market. It trimmed the fat to provide a portable Animal Crossing, but I like everything they did manage to include. It's almost the 20th anniversary of Wild World's release... Jeez, where do the years go?

Oh man. The girl I was with in my 20's (when this game came out) and I played the hell out of this game together. It was definitely one of our main DS games we played along with Tetris DS and MK7.

NA version by a long shot. Not even a race.

This is a rare case where the Western cover is actually significantly better than the Japanese one. The decision to split the world into two opposite halves on the latter is very strange

My least favorite mainline Animal Crossing game...

Anyways, Japan, definitely. The two globes represents "connectivity" between players' worlds to me compared to a singular globe.

As my very first Animal Crossing, the US version has a special place in my heart. The box art definitely fully embodies the concept of a "wild world" and deserves the votes.

I voted for Japanese box art for Animal Crossing: Wild World. It's much cuter. Surprised to see NA/EU smashing the poll at 84% after 1956 votes at the time of writing. Whatever! Happy to be in the minority. 🥳🤗

What happened to the Japanese art?
Are there two planets in close proximity to each other?

Or did the artist's pen have tracking problems (or wow, I feel old. How many here have even experienced such old TVs to even know that that problem is? )
