Lucia and her brother have spent years running and hiding from witches, with nowhere left to turn. But their old friend Skarlett brings news that dispels the looming despair: there may be a place where they can finally reunite with their own kind.

Unfortunately, Skarlett cannot join the journey. The risk of exposing herself among the witches is far too great. Lucia must walk this path alone.

Still, as ever, she and her brother won’t be truly alone. Along the way, they’ll find allies—some familiar, some unexpected—each helping them inch closer to that distant dream.
