About

'BOMB JACK' is an action game that was released by Tehkan (Koei Tecmo Games) in 1984.

Players control 'Jack', a superhero who can leap and glide, to collect all bombs in game stages.

By retrieving the ignited bombs first, you can earn bonus points and fill up your Power gauge.

The "Arcade Archives" series has faithfully reproduced many classic Arcade masterpieces.

Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores.

Please enjoy the masterpiece that built a generation for video games.

My childhood memories of Bomb Jack mostly come from playing it on a friend's Atari ST home computer. I didn't know at the time that this fun, addictive, and challenging game had originated a few years earlier in arcades, with a borrowed Beatles tune as its background music, to boot.

Bomb Jack is a single-screen action game and sort of a proto-platformer. You control Jack, a cape-clad hero who can leap nearly the entire height of the screen. Your objective is simple: collect all the bombs on the screen while avoiding enemies. That's it.

The game is generally very enjoyable, if a bit challenging after the first few rounds, though it lacks variety. For a game with "Bomb" in the title and bombs on every screen, there are never any explosions. A missed opportunity, there.

Recommended for classic arcade game fans.
