OMG Iggy's Reckin' ball. I played that game a lot as a kid. I never thought Nintendo would ever acknowledge it.

Wow I totally forgot all about Extreme-G and Iggy's Reckin' Balls. Before we got Redout and Super Monkey Balls, these are the games that we had to deal with back then, both are good games but totally underrated in a sea of lost gems. Definitely will try it again especially for the online multiplayer mode.

I really wanted this one to be good, oh well....

My friend had Extreme G, actually a great racer.

Something I just noticed is these games are trademarked to "Throwback Entertainment"(whom i've never heard of before), not the long defunct Acclaim. So I guess they own the Acclaim library now?

I grew up on Extreme G, so at least I enjoy this update...

I remember both of these games back in the day but I didn't play either. Extreme G I did hear was pretty good but I don't know much about Iggy's Reckin' Balls. Time to see what's up.

@Diogmites honestly if it doesn't go well I'm not sure I will replace it. 90% of what I play on it is PS4 anyway. We shall see. I am usually on my Switch and (lately) Vita.

People are too obsessed with technical metrics. The game runs and plays just fine. It’s also a good deal of fun, for anyone who is still looking to actually have some.

Everyone here who begs for DK64: Remember how mediocre and stuffed with BS this game was back in the day, and it didn’t age well!

Thanks for another reminder that this service is a complete waste of money. Nintendo would be wise to dump the expansion subscription, raise the price of the base subscription by 25%, and offer everything at the one price tier. After all these years, many of us have had enough of the retro fix from all the previous games, that games like Extreme G and Iggy will excite almost no one.

Edit: I've already had three people reply they like the service, or money is no object. Big deal! Good for you! I'm merely expressing MY opinion. The situation relates to ME. It does not mean it relates to you or imply it's bad overall. Accept that we're all individuals and respect our different situations so we can avoid these tiresome exchanges.

YES!!! IGGY was so much fun as a multiplayer!!!

@LoroTalby nah, no one will fry you. It’s true. Extremely low poly + blurry textures are hard to come back to even for an N64 enthusiast like myself. I grew up on it and nostalgia can’t hide it.

That being said, many of ‘em still play great and no game has ever blown me away like my first playthrough of Mario 64.

I had low expectations for this game, and they weren't even met.

At least they already have most everything I want except Diddy Kong Racing and Mischief Makers anyway...?

@KeeperBvK I get that he didn't port D2 but he must know about it, he must have seen how they did it, even if they didn't do a good job. Do you think Jools did not know about or have involvement in porting his own game and didn't notice that it was ported for about ten years? Weird not to notice all the royalty cheques on his door mat.

I'd complain that it's a couple of obscure titles but I still haven't gotten the expansion pass for NSO and I'm in no mood to get it still

I loved all the EXTREME G games. Only ones that ever came close to touching F-ZERO IMO (sorry WIPEOUT fans).

I used to rent Extreme-G back in the day, really enjoyed it. No idea how it holds up, but I will absolutely give it a go again. I love that these more obscure titles are being released (in it's day, Extreme-G was pretty mainstream, but I completely forgot about it).

@LoroTalby none of the 5th generation console games have aged well in the looks department. I have a difficult time playing many of the playstation one games without getting a headache.... buy honestly I think the n64 aged better compared to the playstation

Not having online multiplayer support is insane itself, but not even including the option to allow for up to three additional turtles as CPU bots during gameplay is crazy to me.

If you have no one near you that plays video games, or doesn’t have additional controllers, it essentially ends up being a single player experience at the end of the day, on a multiplayer-centric release.

Not even peer-to-peer online like the Cowabunga Collection. Nobody is demanding dedicated servers for online multiplayer(which would be nice), but you couldn’t even offer the former as an option? The game isn’t DOA, but it’s close with dumb decision making like this…

I’ll probably get fried for this comment, but man the N64 was an ugly console. Zelda and Mario 64 are tolerable, but this console has not aged well. I wonder what it’s like to have the nostalgia of growing up with this console as a kid. I can see that having a impact on these NSO releases.

As far as Ocean goes the SNES version of the Addams Family was amazing! Played that for months!!

Extreme-G runs at 60 fps in this trailer. I don’t remember if this was also the case back then; I never owned it, but borrowed it from a friend quite often.
Does someone here know if it was 60 fps on original hardware? Or is it boosted for emulation, as they did with Pilotwings 64?

@Croctopus How is Extreme-G obscure? It was from the once mighty Acclaim(RIP) and had 3 sequels as well. People will say I'm crazy, but I prefer it to F-Zero X.

…who? On another note I renewed my NSO subscription this month and I got the expansion pack. N64 and GBA games here I come!

That's quite a nice surprise, these are the first N64 NSO additions since Winback back at NSO Expansion Pack in October 2021 that I've never heard of.

Two left field picks. One is Extreme-G, I haven’t play this since I was 8? And another is unnderrated.

NSO games have such bizarre titles that I refuse to believe they were actually sold on store shelves back in the day. "Iggy's Reckin' Balls," "Hey, Punk! Are You Tuff E Nuff?" "Spanky's Quest" ...They all sound like parody video games for sale in an episode of Family Guy or something. Maybe these are all hidden gems and I'm a fool for judging a book by its cover, but I think "Shovelware: The Game" would be a more captivating title than the ones they came up with.

Also, Lemmy is the one with the balls, not Iggy.

Also give attention to the english translation while you're optimizing the Switch, 505 games and Rabbat and Bear. A buncha lines are pretty modern day 2024 don't fit in this universe cringe.
