Like so many others, I am a classic Nintendo gamer although I play games on just about every platform out there. Gaming has been one of my favorite hobbies since I could pick up an NES controller. I also love films, music, camping, reading and writing.

Wolfenstein83 commented on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Metro: Last Light Developer...:

One other thing too, if they want people to pitch in money for this project, why wouldn't they elaborate more on what the plot of the game is, along with any types of concepts and game play they have so far?
Instead of just showing footage from past games and the narrator trying to make it sound like they are some hardcore dev team?

Wolfenstein83 commented on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Metro: Last Light Developer...:

I am a super huge fan of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series and this has me excited...but now what is this I hear about a scam?
It does suck that there were only clips used from past games and nothing really new was shown, also they are no longer using the X-Ray game engine, which I thought was a pretty good looking graphics engine.
I hope this turns out to be a real thing and I will not donate a cent until it is confirmed to be the real deal.
I didn't like the end of the video though, when the narrator says "We make the best games, because we know how" what the heck kind of boast is that, sounds like something an ignorant jerk would say, it's like something you would have heard back in the day when Nintendo and Sega were competing with each other.
They also said this will be a spiritual successor to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, but I thought that's what the Metro games were?
When they have more to show and more to say, I will be all eyes and ears, until then, this thing does seem kind of odd.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Review: Renegade (3DS eShop / NES):

This game is only half a notch above the likes of Urban Champion.
I actually got this on the Wii VC a while back because I wanted to see what started the Technos games, boy was I in for a shock.
Simple graphics, tough gameplay, I pretty much got through most of the game by spamming the same attack over and over.
Like the review said, there isn't much variety of anything, from stages or enemies.
I would say the best part was the stage where you ride a motorcycle and kick the enemies off of theirs, that was fun.
Also for a couple of laughs there are some evil um...women, I think, though I believe they are big guys dressed as women and they beat you to death with their purses.
Funny enough I can't get farther than those he/she people and those purses carry the money I wasted on points to download this dinosaur of a brawler, the buck stops there I guess.
Heck if they are gonna bother to release idiot bait like this (for people like me) at least give us the arcade version, its probably slightly better, though I doubt it.
This game is a shame on classic gaming and my goodness the controls are horrible...just stay away from this game, it had good intentions but the road to hell is paved with them too.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Zombi U Trailer Takes in the London Sights:

Awesome looking game, and when I see that cricket bat, can't help but think of Shaun of the Dead.
I think it is crazy though how popular the zombie genre has become, there are so many zombie games, and zombie add-ons for games, it's insane.
I love the genre, been a fan since I first saw Night of the Living Dead as a kid, but wow it's in full force these days.
Funny you don't see games with actual voodoo type zombies, that would be funny...or would it?
Was it just me or did the character in the game have a Wii-U controller to use as a gadget?
Kind of an interesting touch I suppose.
Anywho, I also hope to see Conduit 3 on Wii-U, since I think that series is worth one more game.
Not getting my hopes too high, but would be another awesome title I think, especially with what the Wii-U can do.

Wolfenstein83 commented on New Super Mario Bros. 2 Art Brings Back Old Fa...:

Looking very nice indeed, but when will I be able to throw a radish at enemies again?
I know some people aren't too fond of it, but Super Marios Bros. 2 from the NES doesn't get any attention in the newer games.
It's not that big of a deal, but it would be cool to be able to pick up enemies and throw them instead of just stomping them as usual, just for variety sake.
They brought back the raccoon suit, now I want to bash a radish upside a goombas head, okay?

Wolfenstein83 commented on First Impressions: Project P-100:

Honestly, of all the games shown so far, this one impressed me the most.
It just looks like alot of fun, and many other games looked great too, but this is the one I am most looking forward to.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Kirby's 20th Anniversary Special Collection Do...:

Nice collection, too bad I already downloaded most of those games on VC.
Now if they could have included Epic Yarn and Kirby: Return to would have been overpriced but I would be more interested.
Still an awesome package though, especially if anyone has missed out on these games, they are truly amazing.
I love the little pink puff.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Wii U Power Lacks a 'Generational Leap':

Well games like Pikmin 3 were intended for the Wii and got pushed onto the new system, maybe with a few graphical upgrades.
The game still looks great though, and considering the system hasn't even launched yet, it's too soon to start complaining about graphics.
Everything we saw was early stuff, launch day type of stuff.
Imagine if the whole fate of the Wii was based on the graphics of Wii Sports or Wii Play, although they were still fun to play.
Obviously much better looking games came out, so what are they worried about?
The same thing will happen with the Wii-U.
Things will start out kinda small, but down the line there will be something to really blow everyone away, although I am still impressed with what I have already seen.
I don't know what the big thing is about graphics being the bar by which some games are judged.
I think some developers put their expectations way too high, and even when they get what they want, they say they have a hard time developing for such graphically demanding games.
Then again, I am still entertained by 8-bit games, so as long as the graphics are adequate enough, and the gameplay is solid, I have no complaints.
The best graphics I have seen, are outside, in real life, beyond the door of my house.
Well inside the house too, but you know what I mean.
I think the obvious leap, when dealing with a Nintendo system, is not the graphics anyway, it's the new innovative ways to interact with the games.
It's funny though, we finally get an HD capable Nintendo console, and some still think that's not enough.

Wolfenstein83 commented on E3 2012: Wii U Tech Specs Revealed:

Not really worried about the SD card thing, since their capacity has increased quite a bit.I just hope I can transfer WiiWare and VC games to the Wii U as well.In any case, I am alot more impressed with this console than I originally expected.I thought it would be pretty hard to top the Wii, in terms of innovation, but the big N has done it again, and I cannot wait to get my grubby paws on the Wii U myself.
As for the design itself, it's pretty much a Wii with rounded edges, but whatever.
Battery life kinda sucks for something that can be taken anywhere in the house, so hopefully there will be more efficient batteries in the future to replace the old ones.
I am just so excited at this point that some of those little details don't even matter to me.
Rock on, yes!

Wolfenstein83 commented on E3 2012: Nintendo Direct Live:

Iwata was great, although I didn't care much for that corny video with the nerdy guy, that was really cheesy.
I was hoping to see some new game footage, but the capabilities of the controller are better than I initially expected.
I am actually more excited about the system than I was before.

Wolfenstein83 commented on 3DS Patent Covers Vibrating Stylus, New Kinds ...:

Seriously, a vibrating stylus?
Why the heck would I want one of those?
I can probly come up with some dirty jokes about it.
Seriously though, what if it's a shooter, and the thing is vibrating, and I am aiming all over the place?
Neat idea, but it doesn't sound practical to me.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Feature: How Nintendo Can Win E3:

Not to burst any bubbles, but the title of this article is hilarious to me.
Winning E3?
I had no idea it was a competition, rather just a way to show off new stuff.
Also, what do you get if you do win, a trophy?
I love Nintendo, and I hope they do "win" E3.
Still sounds silly though, winning a convention?
Ah well, whatever.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Super Hang-On:

Wow, whoever was playing in that video is a pro or something, I would have crashed a hundred times before the end.
Great game though!

Wolfenstein83 commented on Fan Video Gives a Tease of Star Fox HD:

I was hoping Star Fox 2 for the SNES would get released on VC, since the game is complete with only a few bugs to work out, but this is very nice to see too!
This would be so awesome!
It seems it always comes down to the fans to create things like this.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Talking Point: Lessons to be Learned from WiiW...:

Quick, everyone download a copy of MDK2, right now!
(actually maybe I will)
Anywho, Nintendo has always had a sort of bad rep when it comes to making the third party devs happy, ever since the NES days, but like most people are saying, things are getting better.
I think Beamdog shouldn't be so quick to jump ship just yet, although I can certainly understand the reason for their frustration.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Check Out This Fan-Made Portable GameCube:

Kinda neat, but how does the thing vent all the hot air out?
What if it over-heats, I didn't see any vents for the fan?
The case looks like a plastic juice or cereal container, but seems to work well enough.
Wonder how long the battery lasts?
Ah well, I just wish I had one myself!
Heck, maybe I will just go and make one, seems like everyone is doing it these days.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Talking Point: Is Nintendo Over-Reliant on Sup...:

I think the franchise has been a huge success, and very profitable, but obviously for good reason.
There is alot of Mario related stuff, but there is also alot of innovative new directions they have taken the characters.
It's not like they keep releasing the same game over and over, there is always something new to look forward to, and things can only continue on that path, so long as there is no shortage of imagination, and fans willing to try something different.
Heck if we want, we have plenty of classics to fall back on too!
Of course I am talking about the core series, not the spin-offs, which maybe there are too many, but I am sure alot of fans don't mind.
I think if they keep creative focus on the core series they will be better off, but then again I love Mario Kart, and Mario I am guilty as charged.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Review: TNT Racers (WiiWare):

I just played this to see what it was like, and it is decent, but it's obviously gonna be more fun on multiplayer, as the single player challenges are enough to make me rip out my hair sometimes, maybe it's just harder using the wheel?
I tried finding people online though, and I can never seem to find anyone...maybe not enough people have the game yet?
Anywho, my only real problem with the game is the music, which is very out of place, but thankfully there is an option to shut it off, unless you enjoy ragtime jazz music in a racing game?
Hopefully a demo will be released for those still not sure about it.
Also I tried to check out the dlc, and there was none...yet.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Heroes of Ruin Alchitect Trailer is 3DS Gold:

Looks really fun, but remember, those fire imps are no joke!
Hahaha, and I almost feel bad for the monsters, they get brutalized, and don't stand much of a chance.
Yeah, the character model looked a generation older, but I would imagine they had to scale some things back so they could fit more content in there, but even so, I would still play this.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Rumour: Wii U Components Cost $180, Will Retai...:

Really, the components are that cheap?
That's weird, since of all the consoles I ever bought, Nintendo seems to make the most durable ones.
So should I get these parts myself and build my own Wii-U?
Would make a fun project.
I see that the rumor mill starts spinning faster and faster...the release of the console must be getting closer!

Wolfenstein83 commented on Review: Gyrostarr (WiiWare):

Finally got to play this one, and it's not too shabby...although I wish there was a leaderboard.
Anywho, this would be great on the 3DS, seriously.

Wolfenstein83 commented on Nintendo: "Experience of Playing", Not Tech Sp...:

Pretty sure that no matter what, it will be more powerful than the Wii, obviously.
With that out of the way...lets see more games!
Although, with all these rumors of the Wii-U not being a super powered steroid mutant, I can't help but think maybe it's a little bit true that it is slightly underpowered.
Only because of Nintendo stating that the system will play Wii games, but will not be able to upscale them...which I find kind of strange, but then again maybe it's just not that important with everything else considered.
But like Assassin87 said, I am not going to believe anymore rumors until the next E3.
As always, having a super powered machine doesn't automatically translate to awesome gameplay, although I do also enjoy HD consoles and PC gaming, as should everyone, imho.
If it's really that big of a deal, could we blast the console with gamma rays and see what happens?
It works wonders in comic books!

Wolfenstein83 commented on Developers: Wii U "Less Powerful than PS3 and ...:

My conspiracy theory is not very original, but I think those devs were paid to say those things.
Also, all I care about are the games...why don't the devs worry less about how powerful it is, and make some freakin' games instead?
I am pretty confident it will be powerful enough to produce some very nice graphics, even though it will not be on par with consoles (if they still exist by then) from the year 2038....seriously, I don't care.
I just want a release date, a price, and a list of launch games...thank you!
BTW I am an anonymous game developer, so you better listen to what I say, and take it to heart.
Yeah right...

Wolfenstein83 commented on N-Space Would "Love to Work" on a New Geist Title:

The first Geist seemed to have alot of potential, although I never got to play it.
All I know about it is what I have seen in videos, etc.
I think a sequel for the Wii-U would be a great idea.
Maybe even have the original as a downloadable game would be cool too?

Wolfenstein83 commented on Vigil Games: "Wii U On Par with Current-Gen Co...:

No, I am aware of what it can do, and I see the great potential in that aspect.
It's just the fact of using a tablet style device as a controller that seems kinda weird to me, but I am open to new things.
When the Wii first came out I said the same thing about motion controls, and now I love it.
So yeah, what I meant was probly the size of the controller.
I hope it can be wired into the console, because I am sure the thing will eat batteries like there is no tomorrow.
Can't wait to get my hands on it, so then I can decide for sure.
