WiiBoy commented on Talking Point: Bit Boy!! Took 50 Times More Wo...:

Hello I am the Art Director of Bplus, Bernd Geiblinger.

I will only post this one time to clarify things: The quoted statement was a great exaggeration to underline my statement. What I wanted to say with this was how much work was really put into Bit Boy!! in terms of different sound, graphics and objects.

I did not intend to diminish the great work from Gaijin Games - in the opposite: we know how much effort went into the Bit.trip series and we absolutely think that they are outstanding pieces of software.

We thank you all for all the passion you put into discussing about Bit Boy!! and we will take all of your positive and negative criticism to heart.

WiiBoy commented on Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint:

PLÄTTCHEN is all about discovering. You read the manual, play the tutorial and read all the tips and after that you still have to find out how the gameplay in every Level works. And all people we spoke to really enjoyed this new kind of feature which is similar to old NES games where you also had to find out what's going on and what to do next like in Metroid or Zelda - just now in a cool, modern way. That, including COPYCAT and MISSION-Mode which can be unlocked by getting a good ranking position, will hold you 100 hours or more to 100% complete the game.

This all is also available for up to 4P cooperatively! Party Mode additionally adds a lot of hours of fun because you can not only play it with 7 friends but can also combine each of the party modes like you want!

@x.SuperMario.x - yeah they should take a week for the review otherwise if they don't got over 50 time diamonds (there are 200 to get in the game) and finish the review they might have seen just a quarter of the whole game. That would be like reviewing Ocarina of Time but just play it until Link got the master sword the first time.

We are in contact with MANY fans right now (can't wait to open up the forums on plattchen.bplus.at) and we are very lucky to get soo much compliments on our game. It seems that we are in heaven right now =)

Thank you all for buying PLÄTTCHEN - twist 'n' paint =)

WOW ... PLÄTTCHEN is right now 18. on the Ranking list in the Shop Channel in Austria while Bomberman and Pool are not visible right now ( >20).
THANK YOU FANS =)
Enjoy the game - and save all the ZeLeLi! =)

Thank you =)
PLÄTTCHEN uses 287 BLOCKS and 2 more for the save file.

Yes the FantasyWorlds change everything because you have to protect your own FantasyME (tries to follow the cursor). They have different abilities (speed and more) that is why you should choose the right FantasyME for each of the FantasyWorlds.

@x.SuperMario.x ... so you think that 15 USD is much ... for a disc game? Nobody says that a disc game is expensive even if it costs 50 USD ... so why should 15 USD be to much for a good game?

It is not about the money, it is all about the FUN! =)

How to play

Aim on Plättchen and press A to change their color to the color highlighted on the Color Wheel.
Spin the Color Wheel by tilting the Wii Remote.
Four Plättchen of the same color in one row or column react with each other and burst after a few seconds.

Connect additional Plättchen to the reaction and yield one energy unit for each exploding Plättchen.
White Plättchen do not react with each other, black Plättchen cannot be twisted to other colors.

To fill up your Energy Tube, destroy more than four Plättchen of a color at once as each color consumes four energy units in an explosion.
To beat a level, fill up Energy Tube completely with as few twists as possible.

The sequence of the incoming PLÄTTCHEN is static and repeating so you know exactly which colours are incoming next and if an item is coming next.

WiiBoy commented on Ronimo Games Interview: Swords and Soldiers:

There are of course great Online-Tools from Nintendo but there are hundreds of Error-Messages and Error handling to include and to test! And the Testing period is huge! Only a big developer can do that because they have an extra Team for programming and testing the Online-Features.

I for one prefer a very good offline gaming experience instead of a bad game with online mode.

And I think it is a good thing that this game OFFERS MULTIPAYER. They could also let it out and saving months of development and testing ... like developers do in many other (also disc) games =/

WiiBoy commented on Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint:

I understand your sorrow and it is sad that you don't have friends you can play with :( because playing together with friends in one room is a great experience no online-mode can deliver.
Bplus created PLÄTTCHEN to be one major thing: FUN! That is why we developed it that long and not just 3-4 months like other WiiWare games may have been taken. We wanted to create one of the biggest, most colourful and craziest games for Wii (never mind if it is on WiiWare or on Disc) and we did everything in compression and more to make it possible on WiiWare.

I for one cannot understand why 15 USD/EUR is much for a good game because nobody talks about price if it is just delivered on a disc.

We hope that many people will buy it and, more important, that everyone will enjoy the game - so we can create more (huge) games with different and fresh genres. Hopefully it will not become the next TokiTori (which is too great for its sales).

Andy, what are you thinking? Something greater than only one line? ;-)

We got some very great Response from different persons at Nintendo and the GameClub.at-Members are also very happy with PLÄTTCHEN so we think it was worth everything. It is a great feeing seeing people having fun with the thing you have created and I hope many people will get a smile on their faces by rescuing ZeLeLi.

WiiBoy commented on Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint:

It is, but I cannot talk about a specific date right now. It is not AGAINST the other games becuase it is so different so I don't worry about that. Everyone who awaited a 'puzzle' game was surprised what PLÄTTCHEN really is and how it feels - we just hope for the fans communicating that, once PLÄTTCHEN has been released. Dazza, will you write the Review of PLÄTTCHEN?

WiiBoy commented on Plättchen: Twist 'n' Paint:

Hello Nintendofans! =D

I am here to answer all of your questions about PLÄTTCHEN - twist 'n' paint! We don't like too much secrets too, but it is hard to describe a game which works in a fresh, new way.

Online would have been great, but we are a new (small) Developer and Nintendo told us that for OnlineGameplay we should calculate about 1 YEAR OF DEVELOPMENT TIME! Huge companies like Nintendo or Hudson with online-games already available are able to do this in a shorter time frame but we wanted, and needed our first game coming out this year - after a development time of 1.5 years!

@KnucklesSonic8: I think you are one of the greatest fans (except all the people who already had the chance to play it) THANK YOU for that. We try everything to release PLÄTTCHEN in Canada as soon as possible but we are not allowed to state anything right now. But we can't see you crying for it so I hope Nintendo will get it out September 22nd at the latest!

I am awaiting your questions!

WiiBoy commented on USA WiiWare Update: Groovin' Blocks:

@WiiloveitOnline: Maybe you are not informed right, but I think the Colour Blind Mode in pOp is a great thing because it changes eveything because of the dfferent shapes (cross, square, circle,...) the bubbles get. pOp is also (like PLÄTTCHEN) suitable for 1-handed people ... for this one you need both hands. =)

And if you would read all of my comments you know, that I am not talking about PLÄTTCHEN everytime - I just insert information if it suits the topic.

WiiBoy

WiiBoy commented on USA WiiWare Update: Groovin' Blocks:

But Colour blind mode was also in pOp and in the most puzzle games -> Meteos (different icons), Columns (differnt diamonds and so on), Dr. Mario and Tetris (because the original GameBoy did not have any Colours) and PLÄTTCHEN too, of course ... with japanese kanji (which stands for the japanese word of the colour)...
What's new is that this game defines it as a 'colour blind mode'.

Where is the Review? I am waiting for it!

WiiBoy commented on Empty Clip Studios Interview - Groovin' Blocks:

I for myself think that WiiWare is the best Place for quirky, crazy, new ideas for game concepts so innovative that the risk would be too high for a disc production. And I hope PLÄTTCHEN is also one of them in your eyes. I know that many people like 'retro' - (gameplay-) style games on WiiWare but I am especially waiting for games like My Aquarium, Helix and Lost Winds of course!

WiiBoy

WiiBoy commented on Empty Clip Studios Interview - Groovin' Blocks:

The interview is good. It sounds interesting. It sounds like fun also if it seems to be a bit Columns/Dr. Mario's Germ Buster... and I wonder why they have choosen THIS game concept to be the first and not something entirely NEW with Wii Features like Motion Control and Pointing ... it makes me sad a bit. I am waiting for something new and more innovative, because I am sure that the guys of 'Empty Clip Studios' can make it much better than this! But I think it will be fun anyway.

WiiBoy commented on Get Your Groove On With Groovin' Blocks:

I like the idea of realtime puzzle (blocks fall while you play) but it seems that the rythm has no great effect on the gameplay?
I think it doesn't fit my taste - it just looks too generic too me. =/
... but I think it will sell well because of its great simplicity and the funky music! =)

WiiBoy commented on Studio Walljump Announces Liight For WiiWare:

I really like the light-engine you have done! I think it looks great in Motion because the other spots are not letting light through its shape. Great engine! =)

Following your scale PLÄTTCHEN would get a 1 in the easiest Levels and a 10 in the hard ones. They are kind of mixed because it depends on HOW YOU ARE THINKING - HOW YOUR SENSE FOR TACTICAL THINKING IS WORKING. MissionMode and Copycat more would get a 10 in he most cases because there is a hard time limit too.

Please tell me that there is a kind of Multiplayer in Liight ... maybe it is just Cooperative but it must have one =) Please =) I love playing together with friends =)

WiiBoy commented on USA WiiWare Update: My Aquarium:

Gametesting CAN be fun but it is not a job I would like to do for many years. I know some older testers and they don't have a console at home because all the magic and fun has gone because of testing every hour and every day.

And in PLÄTTCHEN the shark in the Underwater Fantasy also does not really eat the FantasyME because the Age Rating would be 18+ if the shark would really kill the Astronaut (one of the FMs) =/ so we just decided to put much plankton and many bubbles into the sea instead =D

After testing PLÄTTCHEN (which takes around one week alone for the CLASSIC-Mode with Fantasy turned off) every tester needed some days without playing anything, because it is really hard to concentrate that long time. But everyone loved the last Sector in PLÄTTCHEN because we decided to do something different for those players who are brave enough to play it to the end. I think if you would be a tester for a company you just should do this just a few hours a week!

We could also switch to German but I think this would be less comfortable. =)

WiiBoy commented on Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (3rd Sept):

I see it is hard to understand but that is because it is a very new concept which plays different. A lot of different people tried PLÄTTCHEN they showed us that playing PLÄTTCHEN is pure fun.
And yes, if you have to play a game for 30 hours to get the best out of it would be silly - that is why PLÄTTCHEN is fun from the beginning but also delivers surprises and new feelings until you have seen 100% of the game.

But the best is to try PLÄTTCHEN out because all the other concepts available now are to far away. Try it at a friend or buy it ... I am not trying to force everyone to buy the game - I just want to tell you that it is fun to play! It wasn't my decision to out me at member of Bplus that was an idea of WiiWare-World. I just want to give my comments like everyone else =)

But if you have any question about PLÄTTCHEN just feel free to ask! I played it for over one year now and I just cannot stop playing it. That is what I try to communicate =)

WiiBoy commented on Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (3rd Sept):

We just wait until everybody is able to buy it. I for my self hate it to wait for example 2 years or more for a Zelda which I had the chance to see in motion in a video. If the game is released you can buy it if you have just the impulse to get it now.

If you are not sure, just wait for videos and/or reviews. Videos be released by the day of its release but reviews may take a while because there is so much to discover in PLÄTTCHEN. But if you like the concept so far and want to get surprised in every case, get it right when it is up.

We have got very positive response from 'Nintendo' but I think I am not allowed to quote them. :_(

What is the most interesting thing on PLÄTTCHEN? What do you want to know about it? What will it make for you a 'Nintendo Good' game? I think if you like Bomberman and Meteos you can't go wrong with PLÄTTCHEN. If you like pOp and Wild West guns you can't go wrong with it too. If you like Gradius you also can't get wrong with the twist 'n' paint game... it is just too hard to explain but EVERYONE who had the chance to play PLÄTTCHEN for a while was fascinated in every case. The only thing you should really know is, that it is very demanding and hard to master! So if you are afraid of a high level of difficulcy keep in mind that you will just able to play about one third of the game - which means about 30 hours (without Multiplayer). But maybe the 4-Player Cooperative-Mode and a Wii Zapper will help you out then.

@Bensei: This is not the PLÄTTCHEN-Topic so I would suggest you to visit and register on GameClub.at which answers all of your Questions for free. It is just for Austrian Nintendofans so SORRY to everyone else.

I just wanted to make clear that PLÄTTCHEN is a very crazy multiplayer game. And btw it is also a good Aquarium - so if you pass on 'My Aquarium' ....... =)
