whanvee commented on Talking Point: The Wii U May be Best as One of...:

where is the wii u, but undecided about other platform choice. I have a PC but as far as running top of the line games it most definitely can not. I need a better graphics card so I don't consider my PC a gaming rig. I am planning to get another console but for now my last gen consoles and wii u will see me through. Specially with my giant backlog.

why is Capcom keeping everything from the wii u. All except old ass tittles that are probably really cheap to bring over. Don't get me wrong I don't mind a lot of those but jesus, show us a little love Capcom. Way to keep giving all wii u owners the finger. Oh well guess I won't be buying any of these tittles. Do they really think none of us are interested in any hd games???

They will probably just be showing off the English dubbed version. I wouldn't expect very much. Then again if they said they were releasing a playable demo of the new Zelda at the end of it, I can't say I would be mad.

Gearbox shouldn't have outsourced this game. I think up until that demo they were making it. Once outsourced the new guys turned it to poop. If they would have given as much attention to this game as they do with borderlands they might be have been working on the sequel by now.

So is this something that has been in other entries in the series?? If it has, I don't see why it isn't here. If it hasn't, well then it still sucks. Is the wii u's online infrastructure as bad as the wii's?? I'm scared for smash bros. I remember being excited for brawls online. Only to find out it was really laggy when I finally got my hands on it.

whanvee commented on Sakurai Explains Why Chrom Didn't Make It Into...:

Don't care much for the lack of chrom. The real issue is the clone character. I hate how he says he doesn't make games with identical clones. Yet goes on to say how she is identical to another character. I just find it to be kind of stupid. Oh well another slot wasted. I know people care about the difference in her sword damage as opposed to marth's, but not enough to warrant a spot on the roster. Thanks to her we will not be getting a different type of FE character. I just hope we don't get stuck wth three starfoxes again.

@8bitforever

Dude the same thing happened to me when my launch wii u died about 4 or 5 years later. Well it didn't die it just stopped reading disk. The silver lining is I was able to transfer everything over to a wii u when it launched. The guys at Nintendo wouldn't transfer my games from one wii to another though, kinda stupid if you ask me.

whanvee commented on Stats Suggest That UK Kids Are More Likely To ...:

if kids are playing simple games on their tablets there is a chance that getting their hands on a 3ds and playing some full fledged games will stop them playing the tablet. This is only wishful thinking though. Video Games might die if this doesn't happen. The current gamers will eventually grow old and die. If only these tablet playing kids are left, no one is going to buy any consoles.

whanvee commented on Philips Secures Wii Patent Victory Over Ninten...:

So a camera and a sensor ey?? Doesn't seem like the wii to me. Isn't it just and IR light that can detect where the IR pointer on the wii is?? Or am I being ignorant?? I know I've seen people use candles and such in place of the sensor bar so I just don't see where the camera part comes into place. Oh well guess we will see.

The thing is this has more of a chance of destroying Nintendo than the ps4, xbox one and lack of games all together. A lot of the money they have right now is because of the wii. So losing a sizeable percentage of that would be kinda crappy and could see Nintendo going bye bye. Before anyone says that they are making bank off the 3ds as well, just remember that they lost a case on that too and are having to pay a chunk of that change too.

whanvee commented on Review: How to Survive (Wii U eShop):

It always bugs me to get half assed ports that are late to the party. At least when they are rated E and they are crappy it won't affect the future releases on the console. But when they are rated M and crappy you stop getting M rated games. Why? because they don't sell on the wii u. I'm sure the lack of sales are not due to the quality of the tittles but rather the audience on wii u.

So say goodbye to almost all M rated indie games unless this crappy late port sells, which it won't.

whanvee commented on Talking Point: Nintendo Successfully Wooed Som...:

I got me a wii u day one and I kinda loved it. I say "kinda", even though it's not a word, because there was very few games to play on it and cancelations and delays galore for what was to come. Yes, it had low sales numbers after a positive release but I never saw it as impending doom. Every other site did though. There was doom and gloom articles everywhere about the wii u and it's lack of games after it's "launch window". What really annoys me is that I see no such poopoodoodoocacapoopledoople talking on other systems which are having a very, very similar drought. Yes games have come to those systems and a lot of them are pretty bad, but still there. These systems are doing well and still sit at an install base a tad bit lower than the wii u's but developers and publishers aren't pulling their support for the system like they did on the wii u. Maybe because third party sells better on these systems but it just makes no sense to me. I've yet to see even one article about the lack of games for those systems. All everyone talks about is their bright future.

It saddens and pisses me off the double standard most "gaming journalist" have towards Nintendo. I put those two words in quotation marks not because I don't think it is a real career choice but because most of those professionals are just fan boys waving around their flag of choice. I'm not saying all game journalist are that way just the ones who were constantly talking crap.

Makes me wonder if there hadn't been so much bad press for the wii u would it be in such a rough spot right now??

@Darknyht
I agree about the third party part. But I don't think the lack of games so much as the lack of awareness for their new system was what did them in, at the beginning anyhow. No one knows what the wii u is, outside of gamers. Within a couple months of the wii release everybody knew what it was. Partially because of it's popularity but also because of strong advertisement campaigns in it's infancy.

Once the lack of games started to become apparent then even gamers that were knowledgeable about the system started ignoring it. It started with the metro game being canceled and then rayman getting delayed. The best is yet to come but I think the wii u could have done so much better in its infancy and could have had so many more games backing it, if only it would have done a little better.

No, but I as well as many others did so anyways. They had boxes to put them back into and had the attendants asking for them back. I just kept walking and made no eye contact. Yes I know I'm a scum bag, but come on..... Nintendo swag, one of a kind at that.

whanvee commented on Wii Owners Are Upgrading To PlayStation 4, Cla...:

Nintendo relied too heavily on the familiarity of the Wii name and word of mouth. They did no advertising on networks that were always seeing ds and wii spots. In other networks they advertised very little. In the months leading up to its release and over the holidays I saw two commercials. No one knew what it was so no one bought it. More so than anything I think that was what started slowly sinking the wii u ship when it first set sail.

what happened to shin x fire emblem?? I really hope it didn't get quietly cancelled. Considering Intelligent systems is behind this and they also develop Fire Emblem, it might have gotten the axe. I was really hoping to get some details from that game this week. Oh well guess I will wait a year more.

I highly appreciate the man's sincerity but at this point in time I would rather have him not release watchdogs on the wii u. It wasn't all that it was cracked up to be , not bad but also not freaking awesome. Most everyone that wanted to play it has already picked it up. The only sales you are going to get on the wii u are the ones from people who really don't have any other systems and are still looking forward to this game. The sad part is that it will be seen as M rated games not selling on the wii u. Which will lead to no more wii u M rated games from Ubisoft. Oh well that is the way it goes.
