I'm playing this right now its one difficult game I played it directly after Seasons and it's wayyy harder. I'm finally on the last boss Veran is a hard boss . These games feel fresh While Seasons felt like the traditional formula Ages felt like it took Zelda's ideas to another level it feels like the freshest Zelda and I have played them all. It felt much newer than Twilight Princess other than the graphics. Probably one of the best Zelda games am glad I played it
What tosh @ coolvw what exactly have PS3 and Xbox360 done that is better ? Other than being graphical powerhouses if the Wii U is just an updated hardware cycle for Wii then that is still enough as PS3 and Xbox 360 are only updated versions of PS2 and Xbox with better graphics I don't know why different rules apply to Nintendo than the other two. As far as I'm concerned Nintendo is the only company even attempting something different the others just follow once it becomes a success
@ Rococoman the buttons argument is not weak maybe for you but generally it's not weak for anyone that knows the difference between tactile feedback and none at all.
Why are people picking on Nintendo all of a sudden anyway why doesn't anyone call for Sony and Microsoft to put their games on IOS devices.
I don't care to play Mario on a smartphone for this I buy Nintendo devices. You want IOS then buy an Iphone or Ipod touch you want to play Nintendo games you buy Nintendo devices. You want to play Sony games you buy a Playstation why is this concept so hard for some people to accept =D
To be honest I can see a lot of people here not really into the new changes but I'll be honest after having played Mario Galaxy I was near enough done with the series as good a game as it was I always preferred Mario 64 and the 2d Marios. In fact I wasn't even interested in this game until I heard that it has become the game that I thought Super Mario 64 was going to be. I'm personally in support of Nintendo's latest move =D and now I have one more reason to own a 3DS the other being Zelda
@57 Sega didn't beat Nintendo that's why they don't even have a console anymore at best they competed at the same level as Sony does with Xbox. Sales figures for Nintendo still beat out anything Sega had even with Sega's most successful console the Megadrive the Snes still beat it out sales wise. But that aside I liked both consoles since both offered very near completely different gameplay experiences.
I enjoyed Twilight Princess for the most part but ever since the N64 days where every game turned into a collectathon coupled with the kinstone collecting in Zelda Minish cap this mechanic really annoys me and it's getting worse with each new iteration of the game. All Zeldas upto Ocarina of time this was bearable since you had good rewards but with every new iteration of Zelda they take it to a new extreme. One such example is the the fact now you must collect 5 heart pieces instead of 4 to make one heart I don't really see the need for this. I wonder if I'm the only one no one else seems to have mentioned it ?
@topnick12 In doubt the price will be too high the PS3 and Xbox are old hat now at around 5 years old technology prices have come way down . Microsofts Arcade console is selling at £149.99 new which says a lot about pricing for Nintendos new console as I doubt even if it's more powerful than the PS3 would be that much more powerful and Nintendo would choose cost effective components rather than say a Bluray player and Cell processor which drove the cost of the PS3 up. It would still leave quite a few years to compete with the current gen consoles and it seems Nintendo has carved out their own timescale for new console releases which aren't really inline with the others
I want to support your comment @ davidrooster but some problems such as storage will only be fixed with new hardware. It would have been nice they did some incremental hardware upgrades to the Wii like they did with the DSI to allow for more storage and address other gripes such as hdmi / 720p output. Also while still technically possible on the Wii it would have been nice to download a Wii channel to allow DVD and General Media playback. Either way I'm in no rush for a Wii 2 in all honesty but while we just discussing what we would like in a Wii 2 I hope the major issues will be addressed and everyone knows what they are.
The main things I want in Nintendo's next console is 1. for Nintendo to support 3rd parties more so they create games for the Nintendo platform. This means giving hardware comparable to competitors so they can create the games they want to create and we don't have to miss out on those games or have to buy an additional console. Which means less space and clutter created by games and peripherals and less investment into what is now usually at least 2 consoles. Wii/PS3 or Wii/360 2. More storage I love Nintendos back catalog of VC games but with the space restrictions it makes it just awkward to have the ones u want to play and we missed out on some games that should have been on the Wii. 3.Less controller swapping and peripherals I understand motion controls being in their infancy but mannn it really started to get on my nerves that I had to keep changing the controller attachments depending on which game I wanted to play and sometimes even during a game (Wario Ware and Wii Sports / Wii Sports Resort) I hope 3rd parties develop motion controls to the same high standards as Nintendo themselves have in their games 4. DLC would be nice I remember the whole thing about Metroid other M bug
I started Mario Galaxy back when it first came out but didn't have much time to play but I've just got back into it and man the game is absolutely amazing one of the if not THE best Wii games period and probably one of the all time greats. For me so far it has taken the already brilliant Mario 64 formula and amped it up to the max and I'm just thoroughly enjoying it

I don't know what it is about Nintendo they always end up doing something silly. The original gameboy was good it had two buttons and was like a portable Nes. Then the Gameboy advance was akin to a portable snes but they decided in their infinite wisdom to remove two buttons for the hell of it. They got the other two buttons included in the DS but then hardly any games that needed that many buttons came out am looking at you Street Fighter and Tekken and on top they decided to remove the analog stick. Then they released DSI and removed the Gameboy advanced port altogether and also removed some functionality for Gba port peripherals. Personally I think that Nintendo is going to get a big wake up call. They are riding on the fact that 3DS is the only console currently capable of doing 3D without glasses however it remains to be seen 1st of all if people actually care that much about 3D and 2 I doubt they will be the only ones for very long I mean Apple has hardware updates a lot more frequently and their games are generally much cheaper mostly just a couple of quid.
Reminds me of F-zero. I've been playing Excite Truck recently and they have an mp3 playlist feature I hope they decide to bring this back for future games as it has been strangely absent for a while now
@lilboyblue Guy calm down. I see Nity hasnt learned their lesson about holding back system power.
There is no lesson to be learned here Nintendo didn't hold back system power it's just that the other consoles are very advanced as at the time they fit unreleased PC hardware and condensed them into relatively small cases. In the old days the consoles use to use existing proven technology but the fact that Sony and Microsoft used very powerful PC technology in their consoles shows because Nintendo's console is the most reliable of the three available today as the others are plagued with overheating problems.
Back to the subject I personally don't import a lot of games but region locking sucks for games or movies.
Am kind of glad to be honest I came late to Zelda on Wii and I've only just started playing Twilight Princess so next year for Skyward Sword is all good for me.
TvC is a great game but I've always prefered the full 6 button control of Capcom fighters rather than the simplified control of TvC. Marvel Vs Capcom would have been an instant win but I read that it too would be having a similar scheme to TvC so I don't think I'll be missing too much.
Either way it seems to be a trend by rights Street Fighter 4 should be on the Wii but it isn't so MVC 3 not on Wii is no surprise.
In all honesty I was going to say I'd rather have Marvel Vs Capcom 3 but I played MVC 2 the other day and I just didn't like it anymore. TvC seemed was much better in comparison. But If I had a choice I'd choose Street Fighter 4 over both TvC and MvC =p

Na it's not the slowdown that stops it from being Amazing it was the bloody checkpoints there was none. I played the game to death and it was frustrating everytime until I had cheats but then I felt like a cheater so hell I never one =P
I'm not entirely sure since I heard the Virtual boy at the time caused some serious health issues. If they can get rid of those problems then why not =)
I don't see supporting 3DS and DS as an issue as they make it out as back in the day most people used to have a budget version and their top version of their games. Anyone remember when Nintendo supported both the Nintendo NES and Super Nintendo at the same time , Commodore had their C64 and Amiga lines , Sega had their Master System and Megadrive. Having a budget line as long as they carry on releasing quality software is a fantastic thing. I mean I remember having a Super Nintendo and still wanting to buy NES titles because they were just good. I actually played Super Mario Bros 3 after I completed Super Mario World =).
They can't yet because playing from sdcards is half arsed. It loads into the Wii memory first and doesn't play from the SDcard. So theoretically they could only up the limit to 512mb max but that said they couldn't do that either because other channels mandatory channels are taking up that memory. I hope that Meat boy manages to retain the full game in under 40mb
I understand that Sales matter to Nintendo because that's their business but us as consumers we shouldn't really need to care as long as the games you want to play keep getting released on the system you invested in. I personally bought the Wii to play new Nintendo games and I'm getting that so it's all good from where I stand. I can't believe it's already been 5 years since the Wii was released and much to my surprise the best releases are coming out now.
I wonder how many of us there are who don't play games online and only buy games for their 1 player campaign and local multiplayer as I do. But on the flipside I don't see why Nintendo always gets the short end of the stick when it comes to online multiplayer even back on the Gamecube multiplatform releases started to become rare towards the end and even then none of them had the online features the other versions had. Ah well I'll still be buying my copy on the Wii =)
That's true DS games are poorly promoted however PSP games are even worse promoted from what I've seen. When I went to my local "GAME" a few weeks ago I saw that the DS had a massive amount of shelf space but the PSP had next to none. I'm not sure if this is because of the PSPGO but man I was shocked I couldn't find a damn thing for the PSP. I don't really get what's going on to be honest the only games I see promoted are 360 and PS3 titles and other games just seem to dwindle in nowhere land.
Yeah I had Final fight and this game and to be honest this game Rival Turf got a lot more play time simply because it had the two player mode. I cursed Final Fight for not having two player mode and the lack of charachter on the so called Super Nintendo.
Yeah great to see Capcom releasing games on the VCA, I hope at some point they will release some classics that people actually remember such as the CPS1 and CPS2 games like Final Fight , Ghouls n Ghosts , Street Fighter 2 , Xmen vs Street Fighter etc.
I wanted a Nintendo but my parents wouldn't buy me one so I had to go down to the local community centre to play. I remember 2 games only Mario Bros which I tried playing and I was absolutely rubbish at it and also Castlevania. For some reason it was a big deal changing the games. I later found out this was because on occasion if you changed the game it could mean that when you try the next game it wouldn't work. Everyone knows what I'm talkin about =P
I played this back on the Super Nintendo mid life I think and man it was very addictive and completely different to what I was used to and even to date there isn't nothing else out there like it except perhaps Pilotwings 64
The 2.5D evironments with a Dpad will probably work like Crash Bandicoot games. The game looks awesome to me and this is what I've been waiting for a true Metroid game. Metroid Prime have always felt a little awkward to me. So I've always preferred the 2d games in the Metroid series.
Strange thing I prefered the DS title as the Graphics were overall more solid. What this meant for me is that finding coins is easier to do as they don't disappear or reappear in front of you out of nowhere. This sounds like a minor gripe but I prefer the sharper graphics verses the N64 blurred anti aliased ones. After I completed the DS version of the game I found it hard to go back to play the N64 version although I would have preferred analog controls the game is by no means ruined by the lack of them. It actually kinda made running in a straight line easier =P
Man this is a total sham, Commodore emulators work fine with this but the company that created the hardware and has access to full source code can't fix this bug absolutely stupid
@Mach-X Not true the original Xbox had CPS2 and CPS3 emulators and Mame running at full speed for most games I'm sure Wii is powerful enough to emulate the Arcade hardware.check http://xport.xbox-scene.com/
I liked this version but the button layout and lack of 2 buttons the Arcade version had kind of hampered the otherwise enjoyable experience. I would like it if they released an Street Fighter Alpha Anthology Mini Mix containing the three Arcade games on the Nintendo DS.
I tried the Nintendo Demo was a bit too simplistic for me. I got bored pretty quickly because the limitation of the Pokemon not leveling up was annoying. My personal opinion is that this game would have been so much better if it just had leveling up
I'm hoping the trend will continue. It's kinda cool to see all the different versions of Street Fighter. If it continues hopefully the Arcade originals will get released which is what I'm really after. As I keep my PS2 around just for Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo / Anniversary Edition and Alpha Generations. I'd be really happy if they ended up on Wii in some way shape or form. Then I could pack my PS2 away =P
Hmm it was ambitious effort but it lost a lot to the impact of the 32bit consoles pushing out near Arcade perfect games. I would still say it was a decent game but obviously not a patch on those near perfectly ported Sega Saturn and PS1 / PS2 Anthology versions. However I know people that only had a Snes at the time and they loved this game not having played the much Superior Arcade version

I quite like this its a throwback to games like Comic Zone and Streets of Rage side scrolling beatemups except in 3d and Stylised visuals.

I played this back on the Super Nintendo mid life I think and man it was very addictive and completely different to what I was used to and even to date there isn't nothing else out there like it except perhaps Pilotwings 64

I would personally skip King of Fighters 94 in favour of KOF 95 unless you have a favourite charachter in KOF 94 or something.

I have to agree with the end comments I prefer this N64 version in comparison to the Gamecube sequel a lot more.

wAmbAm commented on New Metroid: Other M Gameplay Trailer:
The 2.5D evironments with a Dpad will probably work like Crash Bandicoot games.
The game looks awesome to me and this is what I've been waiting for a true Metroid game. Metroid Prime have always felt a little awkward to me. So I've always preferred the 2d games in the Metroid series.

This is the much better game Super Street Fighter II revival was good but kind of easy when you compare it to the tough as nails original

wAmbAm commented on Review: Super Mario 64 DS (DS):

I tink it was Final Burn Alpha that does the CPS emulation on Xbox 1

wAmbAm commented on Review: Street Fighter Alpha 2 (Virtual Consol...:
@Mach-X Not true the original Xbox had CPS2 and CPS3 emulators and Mame running at full speed for most games I'm sure Wii is powerful enough to emulate the Arcade hardware.check http://xport.xbox-scene.com/

wAmbAm commented on Review: Street Fighter Alpha 3 (Game Boy Advance):
I liked this version but the button layout and lack of 2 buttons the Arcade version had kind of hampered the otherwise enjoyable experience.
I would like it if they released an Street Fighter Alpha Anthology Mini Mix containing the three Arcade games on the Nintendo DS.

wAmbAm commented on Review: Pokémon Rumble (WiiWare):
I tried the Nintendo Demo was a bit too simplistic for me.
I got bored pretty quickly because the limitation of the Pokemon not leveling up was annoying. My personal opinion is that this game would have been so much better if it just had leveling up

wAmbAm commented on Street Fighter II': Champion Edition:
I'm hoping the trend will continue. It's kinda cool to see all the different versions of Street Fighter. If it continues hopefully the Arcade originals will get released which is what I'm really after. As I keep my PS2 around just for Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo / Anniversary Edition and Alpha Generations.
I'd be really happy if they ended up on Wii in some way shape or form.
Then I could pack my PS2 away =P

wAmbAm commented on Street Fighter Alpha 2:
Hmm it was ambitious effort but it lost a lot to the impact of the 32bit consoles pushing out near Arcade perfect games. I would still say it was a decent game but obviously not a patch on those near perfectly ported Sega Saturn and PS1 / PS2 Anthology versions.
However I know people that only had a Snes at the time and they loved this game not having played the much Superior Arcade version
