@Nilkad_Naquada Nintendo has stated that both 2D and 3D mario games will coexist from Super Mario Galaxy 2 and NSMBWii on. So essentially they are two different takes on the same fundamentals. The 2D Mario games have become more casual affairs, and while 3DLand blended both, it will be interesting to see how they differentiate this new game. But as I stated before.... LEVEL EDITOR! HEAR THAT NINTENDO? Level... Editor...
too bad they delayed this game and are releasing it after resident evil and before kid ikarus. i would have piucked it up prior to all these big releases. will have to wait it out. hopefrully i dont forget about it but i'm sure the nightmares of the demon boy will remind me for years to come.
I'll get it used then. I want the portable version, but I don't want to pay more when most console versions cost around 19.99 and come with multiplayer.
i thought this game was a prequel to 5. Am I wrong? I thought that was why it is not a numbered title. Looks gorgeous and the circle pad controls beautifully in the demo.
just because people were bringing up sd cards i have a question. if i purchase a new sd card can i move my current files onto he larger sd card? i'm not technically savvy so to speak so use lamens terms please >_<
i don't care for timeline debating, however, i find the timeline to be highly interesting. i'd rather have a great playing series with the extra layer of an interwoven timeline and history then one without the added curiosity. afterall the franchise was built on free thinking.
@43 when talking about a series you do. if a mario game were to be released with poorer controls then smb you take note. so in the kirby series theres no reason to not recommend a game in a series over one which suffers bland level design and poor controls. this is just my opinion though and i can see why people would like this game. i played it on gba as well as my 3ds and i stand by my thought that there are better games in the series.
After playing the amazing Squeek Squad its hard to return to this game, free or otherwise, its controls are sluggish, level design bland and the gimmick of four kirbys horrendous. i haven't played return to dreamland yet but i highly recommend squeek squad over this, and over super star ultra for that matter.
the hero of time never saves hyrule before wind waker because zelda sent him back in time. so were there 2 child links existing in one time? link A goes to look for navi who was never sent back with him and finds his way to terminia while link B who was just starting out on his adventure in OoT failed leading to this 3rd branch? also i'm pretty sure someone on youtube covered a 3 split possibility timeline before. anyway, finally playing thru minish cap which is quickly becoming my all time fav game in the series.
they released the NES games the day prior to the date they had listed, I also am not sure why but my 3ds always notifies me about the updates or stuff of any importance usually a day or two AFTER I downloaded them. I'm still waiting on my notice for the latest firmware update that I downloaded days ago...
Aside from the awesome controls for Skyward Sword, I think the increase in production values added to skyward's charm too. The cinematics were beautifully choreographed with Ghirahim's ritual dance during the spell cast scene being both hysterical and creepy. Although, I must admit that Twilight's horse drawn carriage chase is still my all time favorite Zelda moment. Whatever the case may be for the new Zelda I have total faith in Nintendo's decision making.
i recommend freaky forms. if you like spore you'll enjoy this game. its creation tools are rather limited but working within the confines of this wierd french overtoned game is addictive.
I personally would love to see the bright and vibrant toon shaded zelda world brought to 3d whether it be a new game or a remake. whatever graphical style they go for i am expecting a better note taking map (ie the ability to zoom or just larger maps in general)!
I got it last year with an english translation and i still have mystick it not that says thank you for your support daniel! a little conffused about the article though. is this the second volume?
Somewhat disappointed this means no SMB DX for GB VC? Kid Icarus? How about a curveball like Doki Doki Panic or Earthbound? MM5? Glory of Hercules? Anything but Yoshi.
There was a Tetris game for the psone that had a npc that was an architect and on top of clearing lines you had to prevent crushing the little dude or getting him spiked to death from rising to the top as he wandered the playing field. I'd love to see a sequel to that or an inclusion in this package and then i'll buy more tetris.
I'm going to pick it up later today. I have never played the Mercenaries sidegame before so the reused enemies and locales aren't a big deal for myself, sometimes reviews don't take newcomers into consideration. I do need an action packed mission based game for my portable library so hopefully this will fill the void. :/ If its completely not worth it or there's a better alternative someone let me know.
how do you expect myself as a consumer to get on board with a new system that nintendo claims will recapture the hardcore crowd if they refuse to bring the 3 games that scream "hardcore" to the US?
Definately a way over generous score. The sloppy hit detection, poor sound design(other then the narrator who was the best thing about the game), despicable AI and overall bland taste the game leaves in your mouth long after playing should have earned it a 4 at best. Especially at 39.99, this game is a total cash in by the developers hoping to take advantage of children and uberCNfans. I gave it some thought and decided against throwing it out and used it as a trade in towards OoT. Shame because I need me some 4 player party fighting and I need it now.
this was my introduction to the zelda series. i remember getting my gbc for christmas with this and super mario bros dx(VC please!) and I've never been happier. An absolute blast of a zelda game!!!
I hope NOE gives you guys those E3 trailers. Kid Icarus, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion and Super Mario 3d looked aboslutely gorgeous in 3d. I could definately see and feel the difference Star Fox would give with 3d. Mario Kart's 3d was underwhelming. I didn't notice a big difference in the depth. Resident Evil did itself an injustice in my opinion. The gameplay looked boring and the aiming seemed imprecise but the graphics were nice. The Green Lantern trailer was awesome in 3d. LOZ OoT was also disappointing. It looked compressed in some areas.
knock on wood i havent had this happen yet. however, after i did the update i was unable to play a few of my ds games, they booted about half the time. i dont seem able to get the old ds resolution for my games tho. hold start and select at the boot up. i may be wrong. the worst thing thats happened to me is i had to turn my fight request off in street fighter because i kept getting my kicked and game interupted every 2 seconds.
I have to agree with Nintendo. Farmville and other games like it are lowest common denominator stuff. They lack the imagination. You could never compare the artistic gameplay of Ocarina of Time to Farmville. I also don't see Nintendo doomed in the future either. The company has existed for over a century. They may one day abandon gaming, but will rebound somewhere else.
Not to mention that Nintendo is ALWAYS attempting to offer something its competitors can't, with the Gamecube it was family friendly and connectivity(not everything is a success FYI), with the WII motion control, the DS had touch control and dual screens and the 3DS is going to offer glasses-free 3D. Not to mention everything Nintendo does has its typical Nintendo quirk(even Wii Music had its moments although not much).
My biggest selling point with gaming CONSOLES over gaming apps is that with the Wii we got 4 + plus years. After only a year, theres already a new iPAD coming. eventually Apple is going to faulter. .
I think it has more to do with the platform it was realeased on. Had they released it on the DS it would have done better. Nintendo kept referring to the game as a true hardcore experience then countering that with "casual friendly" controls. By 2010, casual kind of became the anti-christ of gaming in terms of hardcore game marketing. I for one absolutely love this game. Metroid has always been a seller in the US, not so much in other territories. 1/2 million in the US alone doesn't sound like a total loss IMO tho. I did feel jilted by the weak final boss sequence and the flat plot tho. Still one of the top action games released for the Wii this year.
I'd definately purchase a ds version for the sheer portability factor. I'd hold out to see what extras are in store for a wii disc version. And i'd skip the cut down wiiware version altogether.
