After seeing the Vita, PS3, AND 3DS get love from Atlus Persona-wise, I'm happy Nintendo didn't buy them. Looks like Sega gets Atlus, and the thought of Shining Force, Streets Of Rage, or Altered Beast being resurrected by Atlus is just too much for me to handle.

Nintendo just needs to stay on course and deliver the goods we've seen so far. And while they are at it, a patch would be nice for Wii Sports Tennis to improve the online multiplayer. I don't expect much out of online multiplayer when it first goes online regardless what the game is. But, a patch would be nice.

Thing is that these are today's problems and not necessarily tomorrow's problems. Nintendo has games lined up for next year like Bayonetta 2, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8, Yarn Yoshi, X, FExSMT, and I'm sure more that we don't know about. Not to mention there's Super Mario 3D World coming out in a few weeks. There's a solid NSMBUNSLU bundle coming out along with the Wii Fit U trial and new Wii Sports. The package is going to get better and better and more people will sign on once the deal is sweetened.

Iwata leaving, the Wii U getting killed off, andor the company going third party would kill any confidence people have in the company. Nintendo is a household name and will carry the torch. They need to remain a strong presence in the console world so we have continued innovation. One company leaving would harm the whole industry.

And another point is that the new console launches will surely bring shortages and the Wii U might look awfully tempting to parents wanting to buy their kids a new console for Christmas, especially if it is the only thing on the shelves and coupled with new games.

Nintendo's best bet is to keep sweetening the overall deal and show why the Wii U is great.

Nothings beat the good ol' days of Genesis, SNES, and TG16. Didn't own a Neo Geo at the time, but I guess you could add that there. The Sonic, Phantasy Star, Streets Of Rage, and Shining Force games were all stand outs. And then Sega blew it with the 32X. Now look at the Sega we have.

ultrakatie64 commented on Review: Wii Party U (Wii U):

There's a lot of great minigames, a lot of great board games, and the real stand out is the gamepad games. But, the games where it is just based purely on chance are infuriating and drag the game down. Also the AI is bonehead stupid unless you crank it up to the max. I still enjoyed what there was to enjoy, because that really made for a great experience.

Sonic 2, 3, S&K
Sonic Spinball
Shining Force
Shining In The Darkness
Phantasy Star 1-4
Virtua Fighter

I'd be happy with pretty much anything from the Genesis. I had a good childhood playing SNES and Genesis. Would love to see the former come out on the 3DS VC.

I'd rather not play games at all then lose physical releases. I want to be able to go back and play games from ten, fifteen, twenty years ago. Running the risk of losing my games due to hard drive crash andor the PSN, eShop, or Xbox Market not being around any more is a real danger.

Video games are not sold like books. I've already gone completely digital with books because somewhere my favorite books will be available on an online store. Same thing with movies and music. Amazon, BN, Google. There will always be some place out there that sells what I am looking for. PC gamers have it good because they can choose from Amazon or Steam and will most likely have more options in the future. Console games need to stick to physical release until this problem is sorted out.

12 and under huh? So I guess all of us who grew up playing Nintendo, recognize and trust them to produce high quality titles, and are all grown up just don't exist. Bushnell sounds more like an Internet troll or a fanboy here than a gaming icon.

ultrakatie64 commented on Nintendo's Scott Moffitt: 3DS and Vita Have Ve...:

It is nice having the 3DS short bursts of gaming whether at the doctor's office, on the bus, or when I just have idle time. But, the 3DS takes precedent when it comes to gaming time due to the quality of the software and the titles that appeal to me lately. It is a good all around system.

I can't knock the Vita for the software, since I'm a big JRPG fan and JRPGs it does have. I do knock the Vita for using ridiculously priced memory cards instead of SDMicroSD, not having enough first party titles (Gran Turismo, anyone?), and lately just seeming like a place for indie titles to thrive and not much else.

I really thought a 3DS without the 3D would be a bad idea, but considering who they are going for with this it actually makes a lot of sense and doesn't look too bad. I love the clamshell design though. Certainly, this will remove any uncertainty in people who didn't want the 3DS in the 3DS.

I'm not the least bit hurt by the Wii U price cut and don't see any valid reason to be. I've had it since March and it has gotten plenty of play time, so I've gotten my money's worth and have no complaints. I'd be more upset if they canned the Wii U out of lack of sales instead of doing everything they could to keep it going.

All that matters to me is that Nintendo continues making great hardware and great games that justify the cost of purchasing their products.

Nice to see that publishing Aliens: Colonial Marines took priority over getting this funded. Yeah, a Sega Universe with Golden Axe, Streets Of Rage, Shinobi, Altered Beast, and Outrun wouldn't have made a terrible amount of sense. It would've been awesome though. Far more awesome than most of the garbage Sega puts out these days.

Not surprised about the red/blue Pokemon XL bundles. That would be a perfect game to have preloaded on the 3DS. Hopefully they keep a nice stock of those around for Chistmas.

A Zelda Wii U isn't that too far out of the realm of possibility since the was a Zelda Gamecube and 3DS.

This is great news and a huge step in the right direction. I can't think of a better use for the Virtual Console than to give gamers the chance to experience rare games that they never got to play before without spending $150 on eBay. Earthbound somehow eluded me when it first came out, but now my weekend is going to be jam packed with Earthbound, Project X Zone, and reading the strategy guide for Shin Megami Tensei IV!

I'd get it. I loved it on the Dreamcast and am always happy to get games that are refreshing and unique from all the first person shooters and sports games out there.

If only I could play Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio on my 3DS too. *hint*hint*Sega
