This review brings back some memories. I have to say I was expecting little more than complaints of how different this game is followed by a low score. Such a review would not be entirely unwarranted, but your level of detail is much more appreciated.

I've played one of these games in Spanish and found the translation to be quite poor. Most everything uses the American English names, including Butz, Oldbag, and Lotta Hart. The jokes are meaningless to Spanish speakers. D: Though given the choice between this and English, I think people would prefer their native language.

Hardcore Gaming 101 said, "even back in the 16-bit era, it probably would have been considered a B-tier RPG, closer to the likes of Lufia and the Fortress of Doom or the first Breath of Fire rather than Final Fantasy VI or Phantasy Star IV, except for its really pretty presentation." Nintendolife gave Chrono Trigger a 9 and a 10. Phantasy Star IV, Dragon Quest VI, and Final Fantasy VI all got 9. Even taking the multiple reviewers into account, Pier Solar's lower score seems quite justified.

I'm glad Nintendo is not afraid to put ports and remake on the Virtual Console. Some will prefer Adventure because it's the original, while others will prefer this for the better graphics. It really is the best solution. Even better would be a notice indicating that these are essentially the same game. I doubt such a thing exists, and I unfortunately expect a lot of disappointment from those who will buy both Adventure and Nightmare.

"Although Robin doesn't use dark magic in FE:A, I decided to assign it as his down special." He could have used light magic; Awakening has a single light tome. ;)
I would rather have Roy than Chrom or Lucina.

"this mode you take charge of one from a selection of up to twelve unlockable characters (a distinct reduction from the possible forty available in the original Japanese release)." This made me do a double take.
Is America not getting this game?
