@Dweeb: I'm definitely hyped by this as well. When I first saw the reveal trailer during the January 2013 direct, when I heard that music I thought, "This sounds really good. It's kind of familiar.... Wait, no it can't be..." Then "Music: Hiroyuki Sawano" showed up in giant, white brush strokes. I pretty music fainted from excitement. I couldn't believe my eyes and ears.

I would rather have one, and let the game be released sooner.

I don't think that having a handful of characters being voiced by a few guys and gals overseas will affect the release date for those of us in the US. Also I've been waiting almost 3 years for this. I can wait a few more months.

Ghost in the Shell and Inception(does this count as an action movie?) are quite recent in my mind since I just watched them this past week.

If they were going for a shortened form of exoskeleton, they should have called them Exos. Or just Mechs, like a non-psycho.

I'm secure enough in my manhood that I would have no issue with Dolls though. I'm sure the US military is too.

Exos looks better when it's written. I don't think it rolls off the tongue well at all though.

I'm really dying for a new Animal Crossing. A Wii U title would be amazing. Also I really would LOVE to see a Wii U Kid Icarus game. The 3DS KI was the best looking game on the system imo. I can't imagine how amazing a home console game would look and play.

^ Like I said in an earlier post, call me illogical. But still, I just have a feeling. It's most likely wrong, but how great would it be to be able to say that I predicted a Wednesday release if it actually does happen?

I assume you mean June 26th as the 24th is a Wednesday. While I'm not sure it'll be Xenoblade X, I definitely think there will be some kind of split release between Yoshi's Woolly World and another game. Fall release in NA for Yoshi is very awkward!

No I mean the 24th. They released it in Japan on a Wednesday as well. Maybe that doesn't mean anything for the U.S. release but I still think the 24th for some reason.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X

This was something posted by CODwiiVIP123 on GameFAQs.

"Well if they do plan on giving us the release date in tomorrow's direct and we go off of past single-game directs:

Bayonetta 2 Direct: 04. Sept
Bayonetta 2 Release: 24.Oct

Hyrule Warriors Direct: 05. Aug
Release: 26.Sep U.S / 19. Sep EU

We could very possibly be getting this worldwide in May or early June"

I think this is a very good possibility.

Did you guys hear the music preview released a couple days ago? It sounds amazing. Also most of the area themes can be heard for a a short time here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=826&v=wOMmE6bsl_c

Primordial Wilderness Theme(obviously): 11:32
NLA Theme(apparently): 12:12
Valley of Oblivion: 12:48
Land of White Ash: 14:38
Black Steel: 15:26

All that's missing is the Twiluminous Forest Theme.

P.S. Sorry if I got any of the names of the continents wrong. I've heard so many different names for them so I'm just going with what I remember.

Re: The Legend of Zelda U

triforcepower73

I'm really freaking excited to see what the "new possibilities" that Aonuma mentioned are. And the way he worded it is exciting me. Especially the "and it now feels like we have the potential to create something that exceeds my own expectations." And I love his attitude. He doesn't want to be restricted by creating a game with the goal of getting it out in a certain time, but to make "the ultimate and most complete Zelda game."

However, I can't help but worry that this delay will hurt sales of the game and the Wii U. I can't imagine the game being delayed far enough into 2016 to be released after E3 2016. Therefore, Zelda Wii U probably won't get the publicity that E3 brings to games and I can see that hurting sales. Also, if it releases before November and the big Black Friday rush of 2016, which it most likely will, then it won't get as good sales as if it had released November 2015.

Lastly, I am kind of relieved that it isn't releasing this year, since I'll probably be occupied with XCX for at least 4 months(and that'll be with me playing only that game).

Again... let's throw away realism and think about context. Every single instrument used in the Zelda series has made sense for the context they're in. Gorons have drums. Zora... I guess he was in a band, so despite the irony of Mikau being a water-dweller, he had an electric guitar. TP's theme had wolf howling. Saria, the wood dweller, gave Link an ocarina. As unrealistic as it may be, in WW the Wind Waker controlled the [apparent] frequency of the wind. They all existed in its proper context.

So from the little we've seen, what is the context of this Zelda universe? For a vast overworld... I could see a horn. Though it's rather woodsy... bass clarinet would be nice

I definitely wouldn't mind using a horn in Zelda. It would be interesting to see how they pull off the playing of it, that is if it is more than just pressing certain buttons to play the notes. As a violinist, I can't help but wonder what context a violin would fit in. Besides the side character(I forgot his name) in WW who played a leaf violin obviously. It would be cool to see Link playing violin imo.

I seriously think they should give Link a full sized grand piano! I mean, wouldn't it be awesome? Your shopping in town, then you go out to the fields and pull out this badass grand piano and start jamming out Epona's song on it. Then Epona comes booking it through the trees, and you stow the piano away in your satchel like a badass! It would be SO COOL!!!

Does anyone know if the higher quality sound output on the Wii U as compared to the Wii will help the music sound less tin-y or blaring? I don't have a huge (any) knowledge base in regard to specs for audio hardware, personally.

I never noticed anything really sounding tin-y on the Wii. Maybe the only thing was some of the music from Kirby's Return to Dreamland and the flute in the Faron Woods theme from SS. But I would say that was just due to the treble in the track being adjusted too high to begin with.

Regardless, I'm sure that the audio output on the Wii U is much better than the Wii's, judging from how much better even just the Wii U menu sounds than the Wii menu.

Re: The Legend of Zelda U

triforcepower73

Yeah I agree that a lot of the themes in SS weren't as catchy as many previous Zelda games. But what I'm saying is that orchestration makes a lot of things more memorable. MIDI is only a substitute for an orchestra, and it can't convey what the composers wanted nearly as well. I still think that if Faron Woods, Eldin Volcano, and Lanyaru Desert had been done using real instruments, they would have been more memorable.

You might say, "Well previous Zelda games used MIDI and their area themes were still more memorable than SS's were." That's true. But I think it's due to the composers. Didn't Hajime Wakai have the most influence in the soundtrack? He did all the area themes along with 3 other composers. Anyways, he has more experience with using a live orchestra, like in Super Mario Galaxy. And imo when he uses an orchestra, he is quite capable of making memorable music. I think he's just not as well-suited at composing for MIDI as more veteran composers in the video game industry like Koji Kondo might be.

Just hearing Fi's Theme, The Sky, Ghirahim's Theme, and pretty much all the orchestrated tracks makes me believe that when the composers are given an orchestra to work with, they'll put more effort into their compositions to make them memorable, seeing as I can clearly recall all the orchestrated themes in my head and sing them.
