If I knew for a fact I could get it, I'd get Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon since I still have to play that. Otherwise I hope we get a couple surprise Wii U discounts, since I already have just about everything there except for Wii Party U.

Oh, and PS: I have to chime in with everyone else about Wonderful 101, especially if it's gonna be on sale. It's worth it. Yeah, there are some frustrating elements to it that others have done a great job of explaining, but if you like the gameplay and visual style that might be enough to help you overcome those frustrations. I'm glad to have a copy!

TreesenHauser commented on Feature: The Wii U is Two Years Old, But How's...:

It gets about a B from me. The games have been wonderful, the system updates have been consistent, incremental improvements. The Quick Start Menu feels like something that should have been there from launch, but still awesome that we have that.

The first-party lineup has been strong, and with third-parties abandoning ship it had better be. I've enjoyed most of the launch offerings, and games such as Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8, Lego City Undercover, DKC: Tropical Freeze and Super Mario 3D World. Nowadays, Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors are around, and the two of them show that Nintendo's willing to go outside the box for more matured offerings. Overall, the first-party lineup has been surprising and noteworthy.

Third-party support has been a joke, though at this point I honestly don't blame anyone--the Wii U's sales have been disappointing, even with its recent praise it's been getting since Mario Kart 8 released. However, third-party games like ZombiU, Assassins Creed IV and even Call of Duty: Black Ops II have all done a great job at showing what the Wii U can do.

Virtual Console is another thing that's been sort of a joke with Wii U. Sure, Nintendo finally released Earthbound, along with a decent collection of Game Boy Advance titles, but the absence of Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64 games has been more than noticed. I don't know if this is caused by licensing issues, lazy staff, technical problems or some tricky combination thereof, but I wanna play Star Fox 64 with my Pro Controller and customizable controls, dang it! And cool, DS games are coming. But when?

In the end though, the console itself is a beast. I've used it just about everyday since it launched. It's kept me entertained for many hours, I can watch Netflix and YouTube on the TV (or away from it). And more big games such as Splatoon, Zelda U, Yoshi's Woolly World, Star Fox and Xenoblade Chronicles X are on the way.

When all is said and done, I love my Wii U. It's still the only 'new' console I own, and I'm fine with that. I just wish more serious gamers would give it a chance.

I never knew Link could have so much fun riding around in a little buggy kart. :D (I''m gonna change my profile picture to reflect said fun)

I tried racing with Link this morning. I have class in about an hour or so, so I'll wait to try the new tracks until I get out. Not only so I can have something fun to look forward to when I get out, but also because I know once I get started I'm not gonna wanna stop playing. :-P

TreesenHauser commented on Weirdness: Fan Turns Pokémon Blue into a SNES...:

@PORYGON Just because it didn't happen to you, doesn't mean it didn't happen at all. I encountered the same problem with my Transfer Pak coming loose during extended play sessions. Admittedly, it might have had something to do with setting the controller down while the pak was still in my controller, but still it did happen. A couple of my friends had the same problem too.

But I can also say that I never experienced the other problems either. A slightly heavier controller is a given.

I guess you can call me biased because it was the first game I actually remember playing, but Super Mario Bros. is what defines side-scrolling controls for me. It's always been my standard. With that said, I respect his views on the matter. I can see how the controls would be frustrating for newcomers.

TreesenHauser commented on Turns Out The GameCube Controller Adapter Won'...:

Well, that just made the adapter/controller not worth it for me. I love the idea of using a GameCube controller on my Wii U, but not if I can use them only with one game right out of the box. I'd rather pick up the PDP controller coming out, at least with that it functions like a Classic Controller so I can play pretty much anything with it (even Wii VC games).

TreesenHauser commented on Guide: How to Unlock the Full Roster in Super ...:

My main was Mega Man, then I slowly reverted back to Kirby to help me unlock the other characters. Some of my other favorite characters to use now include Pac-Man, Greninja and Toon Link.

If I have to rank them...
1. Kirby
2. Toon Link
3. Pac-Man
4. Mega Man
5. Greninja

Meh, nothing interests me this week and I already have the Smash demo. I bet all those people still selling codes on eBay are feeling pretty stupid... though not as stupid as anyone that actually bought one of those. Oh, and I want Wild Guns but I'll wait until I actually have a co-op partner to play with--I checked it out at a friend's house and that game's tough even with two players! Tough but fun!

TreesenHauser commented on Standard 3DS Consoles Will Have Limited Online...:

I've been playing the demo since yesterday afternoon, and considering that the demo basically makes my 2DS restart after I close out of it, this doesn't surprise me. It seems that the game will utilize nearly every last bit of the handheld's hardware to make it perform the best that it can, so I can deal with that. But like @FJOJR said, I hope there's a feature to take screenshots in the very least.
