Re: No plans for a 3DS lite

theblackdragon

perhaps they're planning a 3DS Slim, then either way, it's way too early for them to be announcing anything of the sort... they don't want to shoot themselves in the foot, with people already holding off on purchasing a 3DS due to different factors. :/

Yet, I really don't think Sony would make the mistake of pricing the NGP at the EXPENSIVE price of $399.99

We are talking about the same company that launched the PS3 at the low, low price of five-hundred-and-ninety-nine-US-dollars, right? I don't think they care about undercutting the competition, lol.

With all of this in mind, I think it quite good that manga is effecting every aspect of our lives.

you say it's great that manga is reaching out to so many people, I find it awful that so many people are too lazy to pick up a damn book or go out and watch some of the most renowned plays ever written be performed by a proper cast. the dumbing down of literary works of art for popularity's sake (as opposed to abridgements for necessity's sake or parodies of the original works) is a horrible thing IMO, and furthermore, if you didn't want us to discuss the manga, why did you even bring it up?

Re: Anyone up to making a game?

As I've stated in the other thread, now that y'all're gettin' serious, it's time to set up your own space off-site for this project, whether it be a community on Facebook/MySpace/LiveJournal/whatever or a mailing list of some sort. Since this thread is for people to pitch ideas and/or offer assistance, I'll leave it open, so feel free to hash out the workings of your solution here. :3

Re: NintendoLife Community Game Project - Planning Phase

theblackdragon

I hate to be the one to burst bubbles, but this is the time when y'all need to have your own private space for this project. Just like the problem with the Google Document, hosting this kind of thing on an open forum invites deliberate trolling and/or eventual derailment by well-meaning users who want to ask questions or contribute in some form or fashion.

In the interests of all involved, please start the real work on this project elsewhere. A Facebook community would be one possible option now that you guys are getting serious about things... you could also set up a mailing list or a LiveJournal community if you like; any of those options would not only give you the power you need to keep everything on track and moving forward steadily, well as provide a safe haven for people who are already working on the project and don't want outside distractions.

Thank you for your understanding, guys. :3

Re: Downloadable Wii

theblackdragon

While it would certainly make sense for Nintendo's next home console to feature more internal memory and more support for expansion packs, the bottom line is that we have no idea what they'll choose to do.

Since it seems you were attempting to spark a Wii vs. PS3 discussion, however, here's what happened the last time. Sorry, man. If you'd really like to gather up information for an impending PS3 purchase, feel free to ask your questions in the NL PS3 Fan Thread. :3

Re: Problems with WiiWare, and how to solve them

theblackdragon

@ToxieDogg: We are apparently trying to talk about the same thing, but you're calling it something it's not. It's important to be aware of the difference and use the correct terms because Nintendo now does have a system -- the 3DS -- that will allow you to play games directly from SD (e.g. without copying anything to internal memory). we'd all love to run our WiiWare/VC games directly from SD, but that's not an available option for Wii owners (yet?).

also... honestly, i agree that it wasn't that great -- it's no SMW or SMB3, that's for damn sure

@Starcross64: so we can't use negative terminology to describe our least-favorite Bit.Trip titles, not even when describing them in ranked order? geez, i'd better go back then and edit out all the times i've called Void a huge disappointment and/or the worst in the series IMO. guess i can't say didn't like it, either, god forbid someone actually pays attention to what games I do and don't like and only buys the ones i've personally enjoyed. D:

be sure to get back to me when you've got a completely inoffensive way for me to describe Void as the worst in the series, plz :3
