It's weird, but it's useful for RPGs.

The loose hinge came up a while back. I think it's normal for the 3DS to be a little wobbly for whatever reason — maybe it makes it harder to break if the hinge isn't so tight? I remember the Lite had a nice tight hinge but it had that nasty hinge-cracking problem if you pushed it open flat too often.

@KaiserGX: if he doesn't find it interesting enough to continue, it's his call. the battle system doesn't really change throughout the entire game, after all, so if he doesn't like it now he's still not gonna like it after another five, ten, fifteen hours of it. plus, he can always look up a plot synopsis or some YouTube videos to see how things turned out in the end (in all the ends, actually). :3

@WaveBoy: Aviator's in Australia... the Nintendo conference will be on in the wee hours of the morning for him, and he's got school. it's not like the live streams aren't archived so he can't watch as soon as he wakes up if he wants to.
