As everyone else has already said, as soon as the first-place car crosses the finish line, second place becomes the new 'first' in the eyes of the blue shell.

That said, if you have any further MK7 questions or comments, please feel free to take them to the main MK7 discussion thread. Thank you! :3

Re: 3DS broken?

theblackdragon

@Yasha: to be absolutely technical about it, that section of the forums is under 'About the Site', meaning its original intent was for users to ask for help with site issues. However, people do tend to use that section for console issues as well, which is fine. Either way, it's a problem with a 3DS, so it can logically go in either thread as far as I'm concerned.
not sure where your comment went, so i'm going to assume you realized you were minimodding again and decided to pre-emptively cut it out

that said, since this section of the forums probably sees more traffic from users who don't use the Unread Topics page for their browsing, I'm going to go ahead and lock the other in favor of this one. And for what it's worth, getting in touch with Nintendo is your best bet, Winter — they'd be the ones you'd want to get in touch with either about 3DS problems or problems with just the game cartridge, so that's a double recommendation right there :3

Re: Any way to fix my 3DS?

theblackdragon

Yes, you'll need to send it to Nintendo if it straight-up doesn't work. No, you won't lose your Ambassador games — Ambassador status survives even a System Transfer on your part, so surely it'll survive if they need to replace your 3DS. If it causes freezing issues, definitely get in touch with Nintendo while it's still under its original warranty. :3

@Link79: FYI, If half the things you posted weren't either against the Rules somehow (usually with you it's profanity or insulting/flaming other users) or blatantly inappropriate for NL (as in this case with encouraging people to drink and drive), and if people would stop reporting your comments, I might be inclined to let them stand unaltered. :3

Re: The Binding of Isaac may come to the 3DS

theblackdragon

Devil Survivor never really showed any of that, though, and come to think of it, neither did 999 when it came to the uber-gory parts (i only mention 999 because it squicked the hell out of me, ymmv of course). Those games were more psychological in terms of how twisted they were; it required a bit of thinking to figure it all out. This one is very up-front and personal with it, however couched in cute-style drawings it may be — and that brings up another point, kinda... since it's so 'cutesy', will Nintendo be willing to release it and then deal with parental backlash once they realize exactly what kind of game they just bought their kid? (granted, that's in no way Nintendo's fault, but you know it's gonna happen, lol.) Devil Survivor and 999 were both pretty grown-up in terms of looks, gameplay, and reading comprehension required, but this has the at-a-glance look of something far less disturbing than it is when you get down to it, and it doesn't seem like the kind of game that would require someone to think really hard about what's going on in order to get through the game.

I think at the very least it'll be interesting to see if and/or where Nintendo chooses to draw the line in terms of their in-house censorship. Will they allow this game to be released as-is, will they require some graphical changes be made, or will they not allow it to happen at all? :3

@Oddy: La Mulana hit back in June for JP; it's slated for a 2012 release in the West iirc

That's exactly what I hate about roguelikes, and to be honest, after watching the gameplay trailer i pretty much lost what little curiosity I had about this game, lol. Plus, the gameplay trailer said that it was 'never the same game twice' in terms of the randomized dungeon — i'm really, really not a fan of random dungeons. Sorry, syko :3

the way I'm reading it, the OP is talking about the release of OoT3D and SF643D being spiked by those games already being available on the Wii VC, though I think they may be mistaking 'backfire' for some other term — perhaps 'conflict' (did the Wii VC stand in conflict, the Wii VC kinda conflicted, etc.)... it's fine in the 3DS section. :3

@shingi: they're allowed to express how they feel about it. if you lean more in the opposite direction, why not post about what you'd be looking forward to in a 3DS release for this game or, if you've played it yourself, what you liked about it in particular? Re: The Binding of Isaac may come to the 3DS

@vay: the way i read those comments, the game alone being a reason not to purchase the 3DS speaks more of the game, not the system itself. also, i think both of them already own 3DSes (or at least Oddy, idk about gamesake for sure off the top of my head), so i'm pretty sure they're not saying they're not buying a 3DS because of this game possibly coming out for it, lol.

either way, to the few of you all waiting for explanations — this is what the internet is for. google is your friend, and it turns up all kinds of things, including Wikipedia articles that explain the plot in detail. in terms of the content of this game, it's not hard to put two and two together as to why someone would dislike it so much :3
