and i've never heard of Duke Energy, but be thankful it's not OUC then, haha. :3

@smexuuuu: don't lie, you'd have a fleet of your own drones if you could. they look like fun :3

@AlexSays: I worked outdoors all day for nearly a decade. Trust me when i say this would be a valid Central Floridian concern. Central Florida isn't the lightning capital of the US for no reason, lol.

... i guess i could say it'd help if you went outside once in a while, but that'd be mean of me. :3 if you're inside all the time, the worst you get is the occasional roof leak and the afternoon power outage thanks to good ol' OUC.

@Gioku: drone technology is good enough now to avoid mere obstacles, i'd imagine two more years' worth of dev-time would have that down to perfection. personally, i'd think weather would be more a potential problem than bird attacks (or straight up birdstrikes, idk why birds are being brought up anyway but w/e). flying in high winds, thunderstorms, and other surprise craziness could potentially turn a normal PrimeAir delivery into a bladed hailstone of freak-accidental death, lol :3

Felony charges for mail tampering and/or a jail sentence for felony destruction of property (because those things are easily gonna be more than expensive enough to get you past a misdemeanor). that'll be enough to ward off the average joe, and all that's left at that point is the kind of people who'd normally steal your package out of your mailbox or off your doorstep — there's no stopping those jerks no matter what, lol.

@vashy_kun: Again, Nintendo will refuse to help you unless you file a police report. My 3DS was stolen from my truck in a wal-mart parking lot, i didn't realize it until i got home and felt so stupid that it had happened in the first place (not to mention i had no idea who to even talk to at the wal-mart that it happened at) that i didn't go to the police. Nintendo absolutely refused to help me out when I was generously given a replacement — even though I had the original 3DS' serial number and all its paperwork, I hadn't filed a police report, and that's what they wanted from me. If you're not willing to go that far, you may as well give up now.

I'm guessing it was a 7-year-old who stole your 3DS? if so, is it not possible to go to their parents and get it back? It's not like you wouldn't have identifying information on the console, your Miis and profile information that could identify it as yours perhaps? and if the parents are unwilling to help you out, why be afraid to go to the police about it? theft is theft, whether committed by family or no.

@Phatosaurus: it's been a while since i've used my Steam account since it doesn't like my netbook, lol, but iirc Steam requires you to make at least one purchase before you can comment or chat or anything like that. After they've hooked you with that, they reel people in with fun games and all the crazy sales they run. I know people who own hundreds of games on Steam, way more than they could ever actually sit and honestly enjoy in one lifetime, and they buy them just because they were on sale at the time and the price couldn't be beat.

I like how you choose to observe the original theme of the Thanksgiving holiday — the large-scale theft of an entire continent's worth of land from its native inhabitants by invaders from across the ocean. How does your family choose to celebrate, by invading the neighbors' yard and using their land and trees to craft furniture upon which to relax? Do you build a fire-pit to roast their pets over an open flame since none of you will have eaten well for months beforehand? Or do you go straight for their living room to set up camp, watch their TV and use their kitchen to make a giant feast out of their own groceries, which you then serve back to them (along with the rest of your family, of course) in an ironic 'gesture of peace'?

Thirding the Game Chat thing, plus it does give you the ability to put an image you've taken via your 3DS on your profile that would be visible to other people. Yes, there are parental controls you can set to avoid that sort of thing, but Pokemon X/Y in particular are very geared toward people being open and out there in order to trade and battle with others, to 'catch 'em all' as it were. The game does tell you when there are other players nearby (local wireless, not just over internet) and give you the opportunity to interact with them. If she doesn't have the desire to keep to herself and has a natural knack for getting around parental controls and other roadblocks, again, I would very much recommend you only allow her to play it while properly supervised so that you know at all times exactly what she's up to. if that's not an option, you may want to skip the 3DS this year.

I know she wants Pokemon X/Y very much, but is she at all interested in a Wii U? Perhaps a home console would be something more easily monitored/access controlled in the home?
