Version 2 is the same as the original, just with some extra pens/brushes, layers, copy/paste abilities and more functionality with the hatena website and viewer (the website you can upload your finished animations to)... it would kinda be a waste of time for Nintendo to bother translating both, i'd think.

then again, attempting to predict what Nintendo will or won't do is ultimately an exercise in futility, so your guess is as good as mine. :)

try again. i edited it back myself yesterday (while i was adding some info about v2) because I couldn't find any source (online, Nintendo Channel, whatever) proving those release dates, and I asked on the talk page (and in the edit details) that they not be added back in without a proper source (one NOT quoting wikipedia or another wiki and NOT quoted as a 'rumor'). i would love for those dates to be accurate, really I would, but there's just no proof (yet?) that they're for real.

with outside sources, Wikipedia is an awesome repository of information. without an outside source, it's just another vehicle for rumor.

Is there any set time period when this free gift is to be expected? I also need to check up on how the points resetting works, since I've heard that there is a point in the year when old points will be dropped if unused, or something like that.

You have until June 30th to register stuff/do surveys to earn coins toward your status... the Club Nintendo 'year' ends on the 30th, and everyone's status is reset (though your earned coins will stay so long as their expiration date isn't up; they just won't count toward your status for the next year). That's when they're supposed to announce that year's prizes for those who achieved gold or platinum status during the year, and they're supposed to be shipped to you later on in the actual year.

Your coins will last for two full Club Nintendo years after you've earned them (the example in the FAQ is that if you earned them in March '09, they wouldn't expire until June 30th, 2011).

i don't know if you've noticed, but there's been a regular edit war going on in that article over the release date, and the person who changed it to what it is at the moment has only two edits under their belt -- that article and the DSiware release schedule. Without something else as a source (what little else I found on the internet about a release date referred to the Wikipedia article as a source...), I think it's safe to say that Wikipedia cannot be trusted at this point.

however, I do find it interesting that apparently the Japanese got Moving Memo v.2 yesterday. perhaps they've been holding off on a translation until that was finally ready for release? :3

people generally use memo pads or the corner of a big notebook as flip books. thus, 'moving memo' or 'moving notepad'. the japanese name for the program (ugoku memo-chou) actually includes the word 'memo' as well. it's not farfetched to think the english translation might not actually be 'flip book', so yelling at people over it is unnecessary.

Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time.

Also, Phoenix Wright comes close with the opening cases, because you generally have to sit through a lot of drivel about remembering to check the Court Record and/or they have to remind you about the Magatama/your bracelet and blah-blah-blah. Some sequences you can skip over, others you can't.

a common fix is replacing the connector when the NES stops playing games. here's a guide that shows the replacement process... you can buy the parts from that same website, apparently, and they also offer repair service for your NES for about $30 (though you pay all costs to ship it to them and have it shipped back from them).

should you not want to buy things or have repair done through that website, i'd reckon a quick google search would turn up a couple more places for you to try.

Hmm, do you think they would keep the original 4 characters? I expect Toad would be replaced by Yoshi or something as Nintendo seemed to have abandoned the idea of him being playable in the main series a long time ago. If Mario Tennis is to be believed though, Yoshi meeting Birdo at the end of the level could bring up some unwanted complications...

i think they would be more likely to add new characters to play with (Yoshi, Wario, maybe... Bowser? he gets pretty ticked when a new enemy shows up to steal the spotlight, lol)... taking the original four away from New Super Mario Panic (Super Mario Panic is a much better name than SMB2, kudos to whoever came up with that first!) would be a shame. though i must say i wouldn't miss Toad at all to be honest. I prefer playing as the Princess. :P

I would very much like to see them getting rid of the slot machine minigame, though, or maybe adding different ones to choose from so that the slot machine game is no longer the best way to get extra lives from (because I suck at the original NES version... the All-Stars version, though, I can rake in the 1ups from that thing! wtf, nintendo).

it would truly be a thing of awesome if New Super Mario World was the direction they took the NSMB series in... or heck, if they remade SMB2 (the doki-doki panic version, not lost levels) and SMB3 as well, with the powerups and enemies and stuff specific to those titles (but in SMB2's case, wrangling it into a more fitting Mario Bros. title than what we were given). That would be so much fun...

The screen protector is taking the damage your screen would itself. If it's got scratch lines in it, great -- that's what it's there for. Mine was scratched up to all hell when i finally traded in my DS Lite, but the scratches on the protector weren't visible if I was playing a game; they were only visible if I held it up to the light just the right way. No big deal. Also, that screen protector is taking damage that alternative styluses (read: fingernails) might leave behind if you get lazy and don't bother with digging out the stylus just to get past the warning screen and into the game.

also, you do know your DS itself came with an extra stylus, right? Even Nintendo acknowledges that some people are going to be silly and lose their styluses by mistake. It happens, I just wish they wouldn't sell them in a package because I know I won't need them and I'd like to pay less for the protectors overall (a penny saved is a penny spent on another game) and not have as much clutter sitting around. :P
