I'm with Leader Kim up there... we'd need to know what you've already got, really. i mean, if you've got a crappy computer, i'd probably want to get that replaced with a nicer laptop before buying a brand new game system, 'cuz the computer is more versatile. :3

@Stuffgamer1: TECHNICALLY, you're right. it was done that way more for international commerce than it was for the American consumer, though -- you'll note that those packages with the different markings on them say stuff like '1 pint (473 ml)' instead of '500 ml (1.057 pint)' or 'Net wt. 8 fl. oz./236 ml' instead of a round metric number and a decimaled amount of ounces.

also, there's always Google for a metric/American standard converter if you're frustrated. :3

It sounds like Starfy will be a good choice for you, but if you like Kirby, there's Kirby Super Star Ultra out for the DS too (remember Kirby Super Star for the SNES? same thing, only updated and with a couple new things added... if you've never played KSS, though, get Ultra, you'll love it!).

@DaDun: if you're talking about measuring in feet and pounds, depending on where you are it could be American, English, or Imperial (technically, the three labels are not interchangeable, but people usually get them mixed up to refer to non-metric measurements D: ).

anyway, i suppose my most prized gaming possessions would be the pile of doujinshi and game guides/artbooks for Genso Suikoden/GSII i brought back from Japan. I also got a big manga book version of the actual Suikoden tale in Japanese (seriously, the thing is huge), but that's only marginally related to gaming, because Outlaws of the Marsh is one of my favorite stories ever and it's nice to have more than the occasional woodcut print to go along with the story. :3

(b) it's a good time to get into the AA series... i got into it when the games first came out for the DS, so i paid full price for all of 'em, but you can get them all now used for pretty cheap. apparently a lot of people just traded them back in when they were done playing them. :P

pretty much. anyway, i looked it up again, and apparently it's that multiple organizations claim to hold patents to MP3 decoding and encoding in different parts of the world, and there's been all kinds of lawsuits and confusion over licensing rights and patent infringements. in contrast, there's one big license agreement for all patent-holders to AAC technology (they all worked together to develop it), and all the fees for codec developers/sellers are laid out on their website if you're curious. :3

the big thing about RPG remakes for the DS has been added cutscenes (though that aspect is only huge for Chrono Trigger if you never played FFChronicles for the PSX, where those animated scenes were first added), touch-screen controls, which I don't use when buttons are available to me (omg Phantom Hourglass killed my hands; i know it wasn't a remake but i was still wishing so hard for the option to use buttons D: ), and added content... between OoT and OoT: Master Quest (which was already released for GC), other than some updated textures (a la Mario 64 DS) and unfuzzed details (seriously, go from playing TP to OoT on the VC, holy crap is OoT fuzzy! D: ), i honestly wouldn't want to see anything changed or 'remade' about the game, and so a remake of OoT for DS would hold little appeal to me.

in short, I like OoT just the way it is, and there would have to be something absolutely freaking awesome about any remake for me to bother with it.
