you shouldn't post this here!

the Action Replay DS works like a Game Genie did for console games... you pop your game into the top of the device and put the device into the actual machine. when used as advertised (i am aware it may be used as a NoPass device), it alone is not capable of piracy.

I'm betting we'll have to wait until December...watch for the one yr anniversary.

I also wonder how much actual interest there is in the program. I mean, with the plat/gold reward, we've already seen a lot of folks who don't even registar there games and those people are gamers.

Basically, if they sell 1 million Galaxies and they only see 10,000 of them registered, what's the point of having the service if no one is using it? I mean, in that regard, they found out something they already knew. Club Nintendo does not increase the actual sales of Nintendo's games. They can see the same return on games without losing money on the Club, if not more of a return....I mean, this shouldn't be a shock to anyone that the point of Club Nintendo is to sell more games...

Of course that would all be in house market research and I don't know the actual numbers but five people having a 1000 CN points, doesn't really mean a whole lot except to those 5 people.

i dunno, i always thought the point of Club Nintendo was the surveys. there are companies who will pay good money for completed surveys about their products, and considering the amount of people who actually reach gold/platinum status within a given Club Nintendo year would probably be slim (after this year, at least; i know there were probably plenty of people out there like me who stumbled upon CN and decided to finally register all the codes for the eligible games they had lying around), Nintendo is in essence gathering desired information without paying most of their userbase (in merchandise) maybe a fraction of what other companies pay for the same information.

Am I the only one who absolutely hates the DS Final Fantasy graphics? What is with those ridiculously tiny bodies and ridiculously huge heads and eyes? Not to mention how oddly blocky everything is.

I really want to finally play Final Fantasy III since it started the job system (my favorite feature of FFTactics), but I can't stand to look at, and whatever this is seems much the same.

it's funny that you say that, considering the earliest I remember seeing that cutesy character design style in relation to a FF title (besides the in-game sprites, which have always been cutesy) was FFT. all they did was translate that same style to 3D forms... I like the cutesy character style myself, but the 3D renditions were pretty hit-or-miss, I'll admit. Kain in IV especially irritated me... his feet are so freaking tiny. D:

i do feel i would've been able to take these remakes of FFIII and IV more seriously (especially when things are getting really dire in-game), though, if they had stuck with the original Yoshitaka Amano character style/designs. it's not like we don't have the technology to accurately render them now, y'know? :|

ok so i went ahead and bought it because i needed a break from SMT:DS and because it was a long morning at work. ugh. i needed something to cheer me up, lol, and man, Core delivered. :D

there were more than a few 'duh' moments in level 1, like the green bits you're supposed to hit going left-right (and not up-down as you may be oh-so-tempted to do, if you're me D: ), but it only took maybe 5 tries for me to get through it. the big trick is avoiding that damn challenge bit that turns your directions... i know, i know, all i have to do is watch which way it turned and turn my wiimote accordingly, but i gladly sacrifice the one bit to go the easy route, lol. it does feel harder, because you're not watching for bits to hit just one area, you're watching four now and you have to be careful of button presses at the wrong time/wrong area... but it seems (so far) to be balanced out by an easy boss. I was greatly surprised at how easy the boss for level 1 was, at least, compared to the bosses in Beat.

... and now that i've said this, level 2's boss is probably gonna knock me for a loop, lol. but i won't find out until later; i need some sleep at the moment.

osb1842, if you're still hanging around this thread, why don't you guys take a cue from the people who did Icarian and release a soundtrack of sorts with the next Bit.Trip release (or, even better, do it now... like, right now)? please? :3

@Stuffgamer1: why does everyone have problems with FFChronicles' load times? i played the hell out of CT in that release. it was the first time i'd ever played CT, and I loved every minute of every single ending I busted my hump to get. I really think people are exaggerating, especially considering that many PSX games had to wait for loading.

that aside, I'd certainly call it 'saturated', especially in light of all the good games out there that have never seen a re-release at all. Squenix may be 'morons' for not continuing the series, but that does not make consumers 'morons' for not re-buying what they've already got or for not re-buying what they may not even have the right system to play. I don't buy games to support multimillion dollar game companies that dangle continuation of a series over my head (and considering that I really did not enjoy Chrono Cross, there's no telling whether or not I'd even like whatever new sequel they came up with) or to court potential investors for said multimillion dollar game companies. I buy games because they're good and because I want to play them. If someone who thinks along the same lines as me doesn't want to re-buy Chrono Trigger for the DS because they already have the original cartridge or the PSX version, it doesn't make them a moron.
