MML/MM64 is nothing like the DS games... it's an action/adventure type game in a 3-D environment where combat doesn't involve any weird card systems or anything. It's way more fun than the Star Force series IMO.

It likely got its score because it did not improve on Legends at all even though it was released three years later. All it is was a port from PSX to N64 with some graphical tweaking and some missing music/sounds.

Scribblenauts does sound intriguing, but after Drawn to Life I'll be holding off for some reviews to hit the internets first.

Re: Which old system?

the Gamespot review sums up the problems between the versions. Even though MM64 came out three years after Legends, it was the same game only with a little bit of a graphics update and no other changes except for dull colors, muted voices, and missing music and/or sound effects in places. Though Capcom's official website promised updated/more dungeons, there was nothing extra added, so it's basically the same game (that's what I was referring to when I said that ). Bottom line is that MM64 was only worth picking up if you'd never played Legends before.

Drawn to Life ('oh a new area... here, spend an hour designing all the platforms and stuff!' it got boring fast )
Yoshi's Island DS (I love the original, but I didn't like what they did to it in this remake/sequel/whatever... with the other babies, it felt gimmicky)
Aquia (this game is so boring IMO D: )

Re: How long will it take until motion plus games are the standard?

theblackdragon

I can see it becoming necessary to get enhanced play out of games in the future (kinda like the N64's Expansion Pak gave you enhanced graphics and such for certain games), and maybe being absolutely required for a couple of games, but as for it becoming a must-have piece of hardware in order to play future Wii releases... i dunno about that. not without them selling it bundled in with said releases.

Last year, though, they were discussing whether or not future Wiimotes will have the M+ functionality built in, so you never know. ::

Mischief Makers was a fun game, good choice... go for Goldeneye too, if you decide on the N64. And if you never had the chance to play Mega Man Legends for PSX, there's always Mega Man 64 (basically the same game).

Which games are you the most interested in, SonicMaster? that could help you to narrow down your choices (e.g. which system has the most games available that you want that aren't yet/will never be released for VC). :3

Re: A running trend?

theblackdragon

I'm in NA:
Guitar Hero III is in black and white (white disc, black lettering/design)
Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 is in black (the lettering is all silver from the disc itself)
Super Mario Galaxy is in navy and red
Okami is purple with dark purple accents/lettering
Lego Star Wars is in light blue and white (white lettering)
Twilight Princess is in gold and white (gold seems to be common among Zelda games; my copy of Windwaker is also gold)

I don't remember what the games I traded in (Budokai II, Wii Play, Lego Batman) looked like off the top of my head, and I can't find my copy of Wii Sports for some reason. D: also, I don't know about 'wii blue' or anything, but the blue of my copy of Lego Star Wars is more of a robin's egg blue than the darker true blue shown in the pics above.

edit: hey, cool, look what I found! someone's scanned a whole bunch of NTSC-U/PAL discs and put the images up on the web. google is awesome. o_O;

Be careful, oh feathered one... ask and ye may very well receive.

Also, Stuffgamer1, that kind of thing is pretty common among 'free' online games -- if you want awesome stuff or customizeable extras, you'll have to pay for them. It goes with the territory.

Re: Link's New Sword?

theblackdragon

Considering the goddesses are all associated with vivid colors (red, blue, green), and the mystery girl is none of those colors, I doubt it.

also, compare this image (a closeup of the LttP Master Sword) with the E3 poster. I'd forgotten that version of the MS was different from the 3D Zelda games, and the lines coming down from the jewel-thing on the sword struck me as very similar to the ones coming down from the jewel on her chest, especially because her dress is about the same color as the shading on the sword in that image.

@longtimegamer: sorry, i should've specified that I'm talking about the US version, which is on Fox. I love the British version of Kitchen Nightmares (the American version has waaaaaaay too much hyped-up drama and BS to be honest), and The F Word is probably his most interesting show IMO, considering we get to see him largely not screaming profanities at people for a change

The game is borderline softcore porn, and it's got some T&A shots that are censor-barred out (apparently by the game itself; he mentions there is a code to input in order to uncensor it, but he didn't do that for the video)... there's some sexual situations, but nothing graphic, and of course he's cussing all throughout the video, but that's about it. It's up to you if you want to risk your parents walking in on you watching it.
