hahaha, i've seen those videos before... that dude doing the edits is hilarious. Episode 5: The NaQed Now is my favorite. :3 anyway...

@Turbo Genesis 64: I do agree that Spock's Brain was absolute crap (and if we're bringing up absolute wtfery at its finest, why not bring up The Savage Curtain? lol, Abraham Lincoln), but Season 3 had some good episodes, and Plato's Stepchildren wasn't the worst by far. :3

@Warioswoods: five years ago, I would have agreed with you, but my husband got me watching DS9 a couple years ago and it is really the better series IMO. TNG (and Voyager, kinda) is more in the style of TOS in terms of exploration and one-shot encounters with alien species, but DS9 deals more with what happens to a region of space after the exploration has (mostly) already happened and everyone's settling in to live with what's going on in that one area... DS9 really fleshed out some of the existing Trek species and gave them life beyond their few encounters with the Starship Enterprise, and I really love it for that.

yes, TNG was groundbreaking, but DS9 was the refinement (if not perfection in some episodes?) afterward. :3

i'm sorry, i don't understand your reply...? The people who worked on Yoshi's Story worked hard to get that 2.5D look, whereas that's not what the creators of Okami were going for at all visually. you're comparing two games with two completely different visual styles in an attempt to call the one on the current-gen system graphically inferior, which makes no sense.

Okami was probably the worst game to 'observe' being 'flat', though, considering they worked very hard to get that flat, watercolor-on-canvas look (i'm pretty sure there's some extras on the game after you've beaten it where they show concept art with a 3D version of Ammy with fur and all... it wasn't that great to be honest). you would have been better off choosing a different game to 'observe'. :)

The L/R buttons get some use in TWEWY (switching between sub/main pins?), and I know they get use in SMT: Devil Survivor (checking stats during battle), LoZ: Phantom Hourglass (using held item?), and Moon (firing)... there's probably more games that use the L button as something important as well, though there are games where you can use the stylus or a different button instead (the Ace Attorney series, Star Fox Command, etc.). :3

It's a great series IMO, if point-and-click detective novel-type games are your thing. You'll want to start with the first game (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney), and play them in order, though, if you want to understand everything that's going on (and really, there's a buttload of stuff going on, characters showing up again in later games and whatnot). :)

@SSBbrawler08: whoa, I'm not saying I didn't like the game, I'm saying I didn't like those two new powerups. I like the graphics update, I like the addition of the ground pound and stuff, I liked the levels and the gameplay just fine. The only major unignorable that I did not like (the powerups can be ignored or avoided) was the stage select map. I would've preferred something more visually flat, like the stage select maps in SMB3... otherwise, it was a good game and I had fun/will have fun later playing it.

@CowLaunch: According to GameFAQs and Gamespot, if you press L and R at the 'select a file' screen and keep them pressed while you choose one of your saved games with A, you'll play the game as Luigi instead of Mario. I did not know this. I should try it later. :3

I didn't really like the giant mushroom either, nor did I like the koopa shell thingie. I never really used either. the mini shroom at least offered added challenge (and having to beat the castle with it to get to some worlds was a good idea too), but as for going big, I liked the Super Paper Mario starman (and the way they went retro with it) more than I liked the giant mushroom in NSMB.

MML/MM64 is nothing like the DS games... it's an action/adventure type game in a 3-D environment where combat doesn't involve any weird card systems or anything. It's way more fun than the Star Force series IMO. :)

It likely got its score because it did not improve on Legends at all even though it was released three years later. All it is was a port from PSX to N64 with some graphical tweaking and some missing music/sounds.

the Gamespot review sums up the problems between the versions. Even though MM64 came out three years after Legends, it was the same game only with a little bit of a graphics update and no other changes except for dull colors, muted voices, and missing music and/or sound effects in places. Though Capcom's official website promised updated/more dungeons, there was nothing extra added, so it's basically the same game (that's what I was referring to when I said that :)). Bottom line is that MM64 was only worth picking up if you'd never played Legends before.

I can see it becoming necessary to get enhanced play out of games in the future (kinda like the N64's Expansion Pak gave you enhanced graphics and such for certain games), and maybe being absolutely required for a couple of games, but as for it becoming a must-have piece of hardware in order to play future Wii releases... i dunno about that. not without them selling it bundled in with said releases. :)

Last year, though, they were discussing whether or not future Wiimotes will have the M+ functionality built in, so you never know. ::shrug::
