Why try to pigeonhole yourself into a label stereotype? You can be a Wii fan and not pick fights and be a jerk about it, and if someone else wants to try and start something because you dared to like something they didn't, they're the ones with a problem, not you. No big deal.

Also, I don't understand the last part of your comment, where you begin rattling off Wii users. Are you embarrassed to be playing a system that "married guys, younger kids, parents, and generally casual gamers" also play? Are you that insecure with yourself that you need to be playing something that only macho, super-manly men and buxom, bodacious babes play, because then it will reflect on you and (obviously) mean that you are also either a macho, super-manly man or a buxom, bodacious babe? I don't understand the logic there. :/

So laughable that Nintendo is now going back to that design with the Classic Controller? Apparently the N64 controller design was not so perfect or it'd still be around. It would have worked for playing VC games, too. And no one's copied it, either.

Surely you've already heard my whining already about the c-stick and how it should burn in hell like the nigh-useless piece of crap it is? I will be first in line when Nintendo gets their heads outta their butts and gives us a classic controller with some actual c-buttons or an official Nintendo-licensed adapter for N64 controllers to be used on the Wii! I don't know who the idiot was who thought an analog stick would be just fine to replace actual buttons, but they're the reason i haven't bought any other VC N64 games than OoT, and I don't have any plans to buy others (if and when they start releasing more), either, no matter how much fun I had playing Star Fox 64 and Majora's Mask when i was younger.

Also, @warioswoods: even though I eventually bought a Dualshock controller with the analog sticks, I always used the d-pad to play games on the PS1 and never the analog. I just didn't enjoy analog control, as the d-pad was always much more precise, and there were early games that did not do well with analog control at all (RPGs and sidescrollers). while i don't doubt that it was just because I didn't have the right games around to play with analog control, I also don't doubt in the slightest that I wasn't the only player back then who greatly preferred d-pad control to analog control even after Sony and Nintendo started using it in their controllers. you may think the analog stick is going forward with games, but it's just another gimmick to me; if at all possible I just don't use them. :3

Well its up to you but I still disagree with you calling the game short when you've only played 1/4 of it. Of course a quarter is going to be considered short if thats all you're going to play. Its like giving up after beating only two worlds of Super Mario Bros. And some of the other levels can be quite challenging. Not very difficult but certainly as challenging as some of the levels in Super Mario Bros. can be.

it's not so much like beating only two worlds of SMB and giving up... it's more like beating SMB3 at the earliest point possible with warps and P-wings at your disposal, where you can skip some of the more challenging levels by warping past them and/or just flying over them. Or by warping through SMB as quickly as possible (1-2 to world 4, 4-2 to world 8 iirc). I remember playing through all of Yoshi's Story in the manner you describe, with getting the melons only, finding the black and white Yoshis, and making sure to unlock every single level in trial mode... and even so, I remember I wasn't a huge fan of the game, though it's been quite a few years since I've played it, to be honest. :3

I remember hearing/reading in a magazine back then that Nintendo's goal for this game (Miyamoto?) was for the player to focus on just beating their own high score... that was why Yoshi's Story wasn't a hit with many gamers. and also, what CD? We never got a CD with our game when my parents bought it for us kids... was that some kind of promotion or something? I would've liked to have had a Yoshi music CD, whether or not it came from a game I didn't personally like very much. :3

If you're not scouring the levels for the special coins (or trying to make it past Bowser as mini-mario, lol), it's a pretty fun little platformer, though a tad on the easy side. I enjoyed the 2.5D graphics style, and I liked that they added in the wall-jump as a 'new' move for Mario. The new powerups, though, I can live without to be honest; they felt kinda gimmicky... I'm not a fan of the big mushroom, the mini-mushroom is annoying at best and i only used it to get those special coins, and I hated the blue shell. Just give me my mushrooms and my fire-flowers in a Mario platformer and I'm good to go. :3

Call them and talk to them, Cheezy, and see what they say, and also back up all your games/apps/pics/whatever to SD before sending it off. It may take a week to get it back (like the Wii that was sent off just recently on the forums; it came back a couple days ago, but i forget whose it was at the moment), but your buttons will all work again.

I think most of us are wary about sending off our beloved (and expensive) consoles to be repaired, but just talk to Nintendo's customer service line. They'll be able to reassure you and tell you flat-out what will happen or not happen to your DSi's games/settings info (aren't they able to transfer all that stuff to a new DSi if push comes to shove and they have to replace the entire thing?); i'm sure they have to do it all the time with wary consumers. :3

@Turbo: people don't say 'twenty-hundred' or 'thirty-hundred', though... twenty-two hundred, sure, and thirty-three hundred, again, sure... but when there's a round tens-value number at the beginning of a year, you don't say '(that number)-hundred'; you go back to thousands to express it for the first nine years, and then after that it could either be expressed in thousands or double tens-values (twenty-ten, twenty-eleven, twenty-twelve, etc.)... and there's no need for names, dude.

i mean seriously, pronounce it however you like wherever you are, i'm just saying i'd get funny looks and/or end up laughed at if i tried pronouncing it the way you suggest here in the US.
