@accc Ehhh "corruption" is kinda harsh. I think a lot of reviewers forget the privilege that they have to get game codes for free. $20 might be a lot for some people. Also there are people who hate on it just because of the subject matter.

I played this on the Personal Computer. Some points:

  • There is no combat, enemies, or death. You mostly just walk around a house and interact with stuff to find written notes and such, like Dear Esther.
  • It took me about two hours to finish it, and I like to fully explore areas and look for secrets. And the game is $20 on PC (I bought it on sale).
  • It is possible to complete this game in literally minutes, even accidentally. The way you explore the house depends on finding notes that suggest where you should go next (you have a map). So if you know exactly where to go to trigger the ending, you could finish it in less than two minutes. I guess the developers wanted to hold realism above preventing sequence breaking.
  • There is pretty much no reason to replay it. Although I never rewatch movies or re-read books either.
  • The game covers topics that you don't really see a lot in games. I don't want to spoil it but it's unique.

Personally I would wait for a sale if it does launch at $20, but just know what you're buying isn't very "game-y".

Swiket commented on Nintendo Goes Download-Only With The 2014 Club...:

Nintendo could've announced that the prizes this year were cardboard boxes and people would still defend them and claim that we're all entitled for expecting anything more. Actually, the cardboard boxes would be more useful to me, unlike another copy of Super Mario Bros 1.

Edit: I'm being facetious of course, but I honestly don't understand the "entitled" argument. You don't just buy a game and immediately get rewarded for it... anyone who reached Elite Status is a dedicated customer who is supporting Nintendo by buying their games new and filling out surveys (assuming they don't just spam the text fields) and helping Nintendo's marketing division. If you're going to offer a loyalty program, at least make the rewards enticing.

Swiket commented on Mercedes DLC Confirmed for Mario Kart 8 in the...:

@Jazzer94 Yes I would lol. Even without the logo, it looks like they just photoshopped the car onto Mario. And whether or not it's DLC doesn't really change my opinion on it.

Wreck-It Ralph doesn't have anything to do with Sega, but it looked cartoony enough to fit the art style of that Sega racing game. Danica Patrick is a different story though...

I don't really have a problem with product placement, I mean it looked fine in the Pikmin games because it fit the setting... but this just looks hilariously out of place. It looks like they photoshopped it in.
