shadownin commented on Talking Point: 3DS Launch Line-Up Lacks Fresh ...:

Would people stop complaining about the launch line up saying it's bad compared to others without an example; because I can't even remember a console with a realy good launch game beside mario 64 and look how much that helped the console in the long run

Making a new ip just to say you have a new idea is just pointless if it doen't have a new idea or if the game is bad. If this is the case I rather not have a new IP. So don't whish you had a new ip because you might get what you whish for but that dosen't mean it will be any good or even new.

shadownin commented on Rumour: 3DS will be Region-Locked According to...:

The reasons for region locking are (1) The fluctuations in international currency trading can cause Nintendo to lose money especially if people in one region can buy the system or games cheaper in another for example because the yen is so strong the Japanese 3ds and games are a good bit more expensive then the America prices will be and it could really hurt Nintendo's profit margin if enough Japanese gamers bought American games. (2) Importing hurts tracking of games by region if enough people from Europe import games from America because they are cheaper of because they come out earlier this gives Nintendo a false data point in how many people in Europe buy and play certain game types. This could then harm people who don't import because it would cause certain games to get less attention from Nintendo therefor games are less likely to get released sooner, get delayed even more, or to get imported at all because their data says there is not enough interest. (3) To get people to buy multiple 3ds's if they really want to import badly. (: P.S Don't complain that Nintendo is greedy because if they make more profit they can reinvest that money in expanding so they can make more and better games and perhaps localize more games to more regions faster so you don't have to play japanese games that you can't read. People stop saying that this justifys piracy nothing justifys piracy if I had something you want and just because I don't want to sell it to you doesn't mean you can steal it. Finally This in no will hasten the hacking of the device because people who want free games won't try any harder to hack it just because of region locking and it won't increase piracy just look at the ds being region free didn't help it's piracy problem compared to region locked systems.

shadownin commented on 3DS Battery Life Revealed:

Considering that the battery for the 3DS is better then the one for the DSi and DS games on the 3DS will run from 5 to 8 hours It would be impossible for that to be the lowest brightness setting considering the lowest brightness setting on the DSi runs from 9 to 14 hours and I don't see why DS games would use up more power on the 3DS then they did on the DS. You also have to consider that Nintendo said that the battery of the 3DS will be close to the DSi whose battery length on the max brightness is 3 to 4 hours which is close to the 3 to 5 hour stated for the 3DS. If 3 to 5 hours really was the lowest brightness setting considering that the DSi had 5 brightness levels the highest brightness setting would be close to zero and that would be ridiculous or the 3DS only has one brightness setting like the original DS.

shadownin commented on 3DS Game Cards Could Reach a Mighty 8GB:

The 6th pokemon generation games will probably be the first to use the 8 GB card. Just think about it 750 3D models of all the Pokemon in a fully 3D world all with higher quality voice files and animations. On the technical side pokemon battle revolutions which has 493 3D pokemon and has a file size of 4 GB and that doesn't include an adventure. Add 250 more pokemon and that is probably one more GB, high quality voice acting, and music adds another GB that adds up to 6 GB. The other 2 GB would be used for the world and other character models plus extra storage to hold all your old pokemon in the PC box which would store more pokemon then any PC before it. Take note that these are all estimates and some parts will take more or less storage then stated but the game should come close to 8 GB if they make it as I have described.
