@sinalefa Thank you! Everyone at Curve really appreciates that.

We really wanted to push the GamePad. We were maybe a little paranoid in our approach as we really wanted to impress Nintendo with what we could with it. Now it seems we may have overcompensated with all these features, but we're very glad we did it all!

I actually kick myself because I didn't mention Miiverse comments in this video, which is another hilarious feature. You can post Miiverse comments/drawings at any point in the game, and they show up to other players when they play! I was posting some drawings around the game just today hehe

Wii U is an excellent console, and getting to make a game for it, let alone a Metroidvania game, was a huge privilege! Glad you like what we're doing! Thank you.

@cyrus_zuo There was actually some concept art drawn up at some point of more Nintendo friendly "blood," but they were more like sparkles than a different colour liquid, so you aren't completely alone in your tastes.

It's not a bad idea, but this entire game was made in 10 months on a limited budget! It was incredibly stressful at times and I'm somewhat amazed by what we managed to do in that time, so we didn't have much time to tackle smaller details.

Since we were building on the engine we'd already made for the first game, the blood was already in there, and it would have required more time and work to remove/replace, so this made it not feasible.

It's certainly something we can consider if we ever do another game that has a lot of blood! Thanks for the feedback :)

@cyrus_zuo First of all, thanks for the kind praise, it means a lot! :)

I'm afraid there isn't a way to turn the blood off.

The blood serves as useful feedback for when you die, as well as being a means to indicate dangerous areas to the player (with blood on the walls, etc.) It's also a significant part of the narrative, these are expendable lifeforms that live their entire lives in cruel conditions.

Making them die frequently while carrying out trivial duties such as testing toys is intentional to encourage feelings of sympathy and to motivate the player to rescue them. If it helps you reconsider, it's cartoon violence and the clones are intentionally non-human to make this more acceptable.

Thanks again for the kind comments!

@SuperCharlie78

Haha, you're getting me all hot! I'm really thrilled that you like the games so much. This is explicitly why I make games, because I like to see and hear of people loving and enjoying the experiences we create for them.

Stealth Inc 2 is made by almost exactly the same design team as the last game, so not only is it made with the same love and care, but we're all better at doing it, so we think it's a massive leap forward from the last game.

I say in the video that this game is around twice the size of the original, but I was really playing it safe, it's probably closer to 3 times the size of the last game in terms of how long it will take to 100% it... so I hope that's what you're after!

Thank you so much for saying such nice things! :) It means a lot to everyone here who's been working so hard on it!

@jariw Thank you, we've been working hard on these videos so that is a great compliment!

I'm going to try and be around here every time Nintendo Life puts up another video, so am happy to answer any questions. The level editor vid will be the last in this series, but it will be worth waiting for :D

@BensonUii Hi there, BensonUii,

Stealth Inc (1) is not currently on any Nintendo platform, though this shouldn't be a problem as Stealth Inc 2 is a completely standalone game. I'd even advocate it as a better entry point than the original.

The original game didn't really have a fleshed out narrative and didn't have an exploratory world filled with gadgets and collectables, it was just a stealth puzzle game with a linear level progression with some sweet game mechanics.

If you enjoy Stealth Inc 2, you may want to check out the original game, but it's definitely not essential to play 2.
