1) Concerning STORAGE; If Ninty bring out a hard drive they are skimming us, all of us. An SD card firmware "bridge" would be more than adequate, way cheaper and far better for the environment, let alone; more portable, more reliable, more flexible (multiple swappable SDs), lower profile, much better for encouraging console to console user profile movement, etc. They can already take photos from a card and copy saves etc onto, so they already have Read & Write access to it!!! Don't be naughty Ninty.... we're not stupid!
2) Concerning PRICE; Remember that the biggest cost factor to total cost of ownership is actually the games!! Or do you all have fully equiped consoles but no games? Game cost argument... I don't think so! lol...

*** Copy from a previous thread (In case Nintendo are watching! :-0);
Erm, "fix" the firmware so that;
a) The SD card access / data transfer rate is optimised.
b) "Bridge" the SD card internally (via firmware) so it can be accessed directly by the engine. (i.e. so it can be used in exactly the same way as the exisiting onboard memory).
c) Perform the same process for external USB sticks / storage.
d) Advise users that higher quality SD & USB storage devices will provide better data throughput. (Also via firmware).
There problem fixed, easily and cheaply for all us loyal users. We love you Nintendo (and have done for many years) so now love us back please!

It also occurs to me that the long term saving in "re-downloading" bandwidth at Nintendo's server farm(s) would itself pay for any firmware re-write as above.

Let alone saving us Nintendophiles the (considerable) wait of downloading our favourite N64 / NeoGeo game. (This will become far more of an issue with the "bigger" NeoGeo Roms of the best games we are all going to want to buy (King of Fighters 2002 & Garou: Mark of the Wolves are both 80MB+, even Pulstar & Blazing Star (& Vasara) are all in the 15-25MB bracket!).

It would also allow them to remove the ridiculous WiiWare cap of 43MB or whatever it is and let developers create some games with larger scope / more complexity etc.

Please Nintendo... give us our storage bridging firmware! SD / USB or both if possible!

Remember, on the VC the "choppyness" will be gone! The VC has already massively improved Super Mario 64 and the Sonic games, both of which were prone to slowdown. Finally we get to play these games the way they were designed to be played!
