How is this even being argued? From a hardware standpoint the Wii U seems to be barely more powerful than current gen consoles. There's no way it'll be able to churn out what the PS4 can, and that's a simple, easy-to-understand fact. I can certainly understand developers not wanting to waste time scaling down graphics for a system that has barely any install base.

This is going to be a Wii situation again. It's going to survive (or thrive) on exclusives and Nintendo's brand power.

lol, the trailer looks terrible ya'll. Moving around at a snail's pace and bumping into enemies? Yeah, that sounds... thrilling.

The pixel art and music is great though. Shame it doesn't have gameplay to match. :(

@Raylax Word.

I find it amusing that people are PO'd at this. Yes, Amazon should bow and humbly ask pardon for trying to sell products.

That they hardly ever have Nintendo consoles in stock is a bit interesting though. Maybe it has something to do with the 3DS screen scratching debacle awhile back?

It's funny because I've been thinking basically the same thing about the 3DS that he's suggesting - I basically want a bigger, more powerful GBAM. I hate the clamshell design and the dual-screens, and I couldn't care less about 3D.

What he's saying about MH is BS though. Tapping L swings the camera towards the monster, and even after spending 200 hours playing with dual-analog controls in Tri, I felt comfortable with the slightly new scheme within seconds — I'd go so far as to say it even makes the game easier. If I had to guess I'd say he's probably never played a MH game before and is just struggling with the controls in general, which are nearly identical with previous versions.

Mannn I wish they'd add online at least as DLC or somethin'. I thought they did a great job with the controls in the demo, and despite the framerate drops it's a really pretty game.

I'll pick it up eventually; I already put 180 hours in MH3 so I'm not in a hurry to jump on this without the online component.

I think it's really sad that NintendoLife has to resort to inflammatory articles like this to get its page clicks. The site used to be above crap like this.

To everyone else concerned, this guy has his opinion and, whether you agree with it or not (I certainly don't), he doesn't deserve your hateful name-calling.

Really excited for this – the 3DS is starved of JRPGs. Fingers crossed for a localization!

3DS Game Released For Free On Lame-o iOS Is Better On 3DS

Start having fun bashing it, readers!

In other news... actually, there really isn't any other news today. Stay tuned while we come up with more ways for you to hate on evil iOS games!

While I don't have anything at all against Nintendo Life or its editors, I think posting these kinds of things are a little redundant. It's only giving these copycats more undeserved publicity and even worse, fueling the belief that mobile platforms are only filled with crap shovelware, "$1 timewasters" and clones - a misconception that can be displaced by anyone with substantial mobile gaming experience.

This. We get it. People ripoff the most popular gaming icon in the world. This is news how?

Only this time it's not for profit, so it's no worse than the zillions of Mario fan games you can download for your computer or play in your browser. Why aren't you guys running articles on those? They could probably use the publicity too.

@pixelman That would pretty much mean Nintendo giving in to the competition as well. Why develop for other platforms when you can still find success with your own?

I'm not saying Nintendo should or shouldn't develop for iOS platforms - I'm just saying if they did then the results would be the amazing stuff we're used to on Nintendo platforms, and most of the a$$-kissing fanboys here would be going "hm I guess iPhone isn't so bad after all, I'm going to get one for my birthday!!!!!!!1111".

So certain games being able to be on other devices doesn't really mean a thing here unless said developers, etc meant for it to happen to begin with; you can almost say the same thing for home consoles in general otherwise and mobile games(they too can be 'better' on other platforms, one of which came recently).

Well yeah. Unfortunately top-quality AAA "console-style" games have been slow in coming, and most big-budget games have been trying to mimic rather than innovate (I'm looking at you Gameloft and EA). Some have turned out fun, but the console versions tend to be superior.

That being said, iOS does have superior versions of games. World of Goo is one that springs to mind.

About the only thing I really agree with is that it really isn't right to say tablets couldn't be good for games; they are a different category. I'm with the person who was wondering why the two can't co-exist.

How silly. Devices coexisting? But that wouldn't make the fanboys happy! Everything non-Nintendo must die!!

@Magnet_Man018 It's not.

I mean yeah, they're not dedicated but neither is a PC. But PCs can run games better than dedicated "game devices." You could argue that being dedicated is a limitation, not a virtue.

Also, re: iOS game quality: Touch screen gaming is still young in its life — it hasn't had 30 years to develop yet. There's still a lot of figuring out to do.

On the other hand, from a hardware standpoint a game like Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is totally able to exist on iOS and be even better. Unfortunately, no one's done it yet. I guarantee you that if Nintendo were developing serious games for Apple devices then they'd do some mindblowingly awesome stuff. The tech is amazing and has a ton of potential, but developers — for the most part — haven't figured out how to tap into that potential yet. That's something that continually frustrates me.
