pagster commented on Review: Bloons (WiiWare):
I didn't download this game - but I would disagree with such a low score. I agree that Bloons might be a better game to play at work or during a commute, as well as the menu problems/lack of head-to-head option.
But, I don't think that the game itself is very difficult. The developers should have included an easy mode that gave an extra dart or two - but really, everyone I knew (girls included) could reach level 20+ in only a few minutes. The game isn't asking for 100% completion (actually looks like 80%) - and the ability to precisely control your strength in the Wii version makes it even easier to control the dart's path (the Flash version based the strength on timing).
In the end, I'm wondering if this Bloons got a balanced look - rather than getting frustrated and awarding a low score. I agree with some of the other posters that this game probably deserved a 4.

Just wondering, how does multiplayer work? And in which modes are the 2 players supported?
Thanks!

pagster commented on Review: Pop (WiiWare):
This game is WAY overrated. I'd say maybe 6/10 considering its release time when there were few other games.
My main complaint is the competitive-cooperative aspect. When you play with 4 players, you're trying to get the highest score when the timer ends. However, since you share the timer and anyone that misses reduces the timer, all smart players do is get the highest score as quick as possible and then end the game by missing intentionally.
Makes every competitive play last about 3 seconds.

I logged on to also commend @J.Lowther for his effort towards development - if it's what makes you satisfied in life, then you should go for it.
I also have to say that the end part of the review seemed unnecessarily harsh. I prefer the "why it could be better" rather than "this developer didn't have good ideas" approach to the conclusion (which, let's be honest, is the only part I read when I am previewing games
).

It's October. Wonder when I'll get my NES credit (from the Opera fiasco).

other sources report that 4.2 disables homebrew completely. since it does such a thorough job, it appears that this update is solely targeted upon removing non-nintendo data.

@2. Edwin
Would be so sweet.
@7. Pegasus
I'm not sure if this was true - but my main motivation for the new GH is that you can have multiple people playing the same instrument (ie: 3 lead guitars). I'm not sure why they didn't incorporate this at GH2 as it always spurs quarrels on who gets to play who. Plus, they could always have achievements/career modes to force a full band so that the bass player isn't forgotten

@ Bahamut ZERO (41):
Xbox Live is commonly cheaper than that. There have been several instances of 13months for $30 + no tax + free shipping this year. There was even an instance of 400 XBL pts included with the $30
Definitely worth it for the gold content and the wider support of 360 games.

@gameking23 and @LinktotheFuture
2GB SD cards are really cheap these days. if you look at deal sites, you can probably find one for $6 shipped. so far, the lowest i've seen is $4 shipped
EDIT: after a quick search, here's a decent one for $6.50 shipped < http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?&Item=N82E16820134445&CMP >

GC controllers use the L and R buttons to use the "shake" items.

for those who are still on the fence, i really do recommend this game. you can customize each game (ie: like brawl) including item drop frequencies, number of rounds and/or minutes, randomize/set start locations, pressurize blocks, poisons on/off, etc.
srsly not bad.

pagster commented on Will You Be Bursting Bubbles Today With Pop?:
I agree - the game itself isn't too bad. But the single player isn't too challenging (other than a high score), and the multiplayer is almost flawed to the point where they should either fix the "competitive/cooperative" gameplay or just remove multiplayer entirely.

pagster commented on Review: Pop:
i just got it today. im disappointed with the multiplayer by a lot. i just saw IGN's review and agree that it's completely flawed. in short, once you're in the lead with points, you purposely miss and run the timer to zero instantly - and then you win. if you agree to help each other, EVERY powerup hurts you. get a flashlight? your friend can't contribute to the timer anymore. make their aim smaller? they'll miss more and end the game faster. really really poor multiplayer.
i havent tried single player - which seems to the be redeeming quality of this game.
