well if this lets you streetpass more people somehow it would be awesome, i have RARELY ever streetpassed anyone ever, making it completely impossible to complete my puzzle pieces collection (and they just keep releasing more, making it even more impossible, not to mention pictures from other regions, eeesh!)
sounds totally awesome, one thing that has always been lacking from retail games is the ability to take screenshots yourself. personally it's a feature that i love to death. one caveat though, you need to be able to take pictures of ANYTHING at ANY POINT from when the game is turned on until the end of the credits roll, otherwise it's not nearly as useful.
great game but why, oh why didnt they give ALL of the gameboy games on the 3DS VC the DX treatment? i mean come on, it would go along way for helping to validate the price (cause if you plan to buy them all, it starts to get pricey for old games of which you already have the original carts).
awesome game but X2 was even better since there were refill points in levels and you could tractor beam refills toward yourself. X3 was even better yet, and the best of the entire X bunch by far, at the very least it was my favourite. there was even a PS1 and Saturn version that included cutscenes of the bosses. also i think that this was the first game where you could play as Zero (i could be wrong about that) and he had an entirely different moveset and powerups from bosses. X4 was pretty good but after that the X series tanked all the way through to the end unfortunately. on another note, the PSP maverick hunters version of X1 was really good and after beating it you could play the game as Vile (the purple knight kind-of guy from the beginning of the game) and it was actually very fun. it's a real shame that there were never any more maverick versions of X games.
well the subscription is really cheap so that's good but what a pain in the butt to have to pay to use the extended online features (that any other program would have for free). excited about the app in general though, just really confused about why anyone would pay for the subscription part.. or moreso why it's even a pay-required feature.
almost bought one of these just because it was something new, finally, on the stupid nclub rewards site. didnt buy one because what the hell would i do with it and also it cost alot of coins to purchase. but i suppose most people had the same impulse as me and went ahead and spend the coins, since, there is NOTHING else on there to spend the coins on whatsoever. WORST REWARDS PROGRAM EVER. add some new stuff and stuff that isnt worthless already.
never tried this for dsi but cant wait to try it for 3ds. it should be alot more fun for me than swapnote is. i dont care at all about some kind of subscription, especially if you can export your files to avi or gif.... that is incredibly awesome.
Never played Ages all the way through but LOVED Seasons. Played it during the GameBoy SP days. I own a copy of both original carts. Glad to see these games which were pretty much totally lost to time resurfaced. I think they came out toward the very end of GameBoy Color at a point which nobody really cared, which was just unfortunate timing because they are still great games.
wanted the black model because of the color but decided that whoever sells it for the lowest price wins in the end (heard Target had the white one for $240, which ain't bad at all). 32g is a miniscule hard drive anyway, any system now should really come with a minimum of a 1TB drive, they are pretty cheap and very common at this point. anyway, i don't plan to be downloading much as of now (aside from nano assault neo). its still strictly retail copies of games for me at this point, except for eShop stuff that's worth getting on the 3DS.
3DS took forever to get off the ground but now its totally awesome, hopefully the wii U will get there as well, probably by sometime next year if the 3DS is any indication. no idea why nintendo loves to release new hardware before there is basically ANY software for it at all, but then nintendo NEVER does the sensible anything and they still manage to always scrape by. i never ever care about hardware until there is a nice handful of must-have games, and waiting usually means that a price-cut will come along before i buy, which is always awesome.
yea right, as if nobody ever is going to play an xbox360 game on the xb1. only reason i didnt play xbox games on 360 was because they never made all of them compatible and the few that i wanted to play were never added to the list DUMMMMMMMB
one of the best games ever, i still play it from time to time. tons of snes games in fact have held up extremely well over the years, it was indeed a golden age of video games and super metroid is a shining example of that fact.
eshop demos are the way to go if they really want to spread the hype. if worried about bugs then make them only available/playable for a specific time. or hell, just make it clear that it's a beta and roll with it. the demo of metroid prime hunters for DS was quickly forgotten, but it was cool at the time. sadly, there have to be way more than 100 best buys in the US so most likely it wont be one in your/my area that has the in-store demos.
but if there was ever a company that refuses to do anything the sensible way, it sure is nintendo. backwards as ever, fingers in their ears, screaming la-la-la-la-la-im-not-listening all of the time.
i love my 3DSXL a million times more than my DSLite and more than i had ever expected as well. i have hardly stopped playing with it at all since i got it a year or so ago now.
well thats great, i'd love to see another ADV Time game, but the first one felt like it was really phoned in and practically unfinished. it didnt take long at all to clear the game and it just didnt have any depth at all. it was fun to play for a bit but i dont know that i would go back and play it again at all. at least i got some cool swag since i actually bothered to pre-order the game. but other than that, it hardly felt like it was worth $40. it seemed alot more like an eShop game that would cost only a few dollars. but hey, high hopes for the next entry, im sure that i will buy it whether it's crap or not ;p at least the show is still awesome... and it wasnt the worst game out there.
just mad that to buy all of the DLC it actually costs more than the retail price of the actual game itself.... that doesnt sit quite right with me. DLC should be additional right? which just doesnt seem like its something that shoudl be expensive. sure you dont have to buy them all, but duh, if theres extra stuff, im going to want all of it.
what makes it impossible? if people would buy it, you should freakin' make it! how dumb are you for cryin out loud. come on, no matter how wrapped up the story even supposedly might be, there is always room to write some more.
wow, i cant believe that more people have a 32gb card than anything else. while cards are relatively cheap in general, the 32gb card isnt exacly free, not to mention that downloads of retail games and thus a much greater need for space has only just started to become something that people are going to need. maybe it was just a (i need to upgrade, might as well go big) kind of thing.
well i agree that the wiiU looks basically just like a medium redesign of the wii but then the gamepad is a drastic difference from the horrible wiimotes. but yea, i guess you could mistakenly think it was just an add-on for your regular old wii if you weren't too knowledgeable about video games.
personally i think they should have gone with a different name for the system altogether. i know they hope to cash in on the wii brand but that was a name to begin with and cant go away soon enough. a new name says, hey we have a brand new product and platform for you.
sticking with the straight white console color was probably a mistake too as again, it does make it look just like the wii.
it does say something about nintendo's awkward and short-sighted marketing though, the initially desperate drought of game availability (especially big-name games and must-have games, etc). if they had a lineup of releases as good as what we have seen in the past few months to begin with, they would never have had to drop the price at all. not that i am complaining, i didnt jump on the bandwagon until that happened and really didnt expect much but was pleasantly surprised. i love my 3DS about a million times more than i ever loved my DS. with the DS i only used it once in a great while when there was a Zelda or Castlevania game. the 3DS i use every chance that i get.
its a shame that for sooo very long, the 3DS game roster was very spare. things are rockin and rollin at the moment with lots of great games finally coming out and i can only hope that continues for some time. i personally love the 3DS, and the 3D effect, a million times more than i ever thought that i would. so i hope that the system has as long and healthy a lifespan as the various iterations of the DS.
never played fire emblem before this, the beautiful graphics are what hooked me in, that and the general hype around the series i suppose, well, and the demo was fun. its casual mode all the way for me, ive been playing games since NES and have beaten my share of impossibly hard ones and see no point in breaking my back these days when there's an option that makes alot of games more fun to play (at least on the first go through), i earned my stripes long ago. i'd say its wonderful that theres a casual mode for situations just like this. same goes for etrian odyssey, the fact that party death in casual mode just zaps you back to town seems entirely fair to me. but hey, if you didnt really start gaming until PS2 or 3, then by all means, go all hardcore and earn your stripes, either way, its nice and good that there's an option.
time limit levels suck man.... same goes for that in the 3DS version "extra levels" which arent really extra levels since they are timed and not are not part of another world in the game either, which is also lame. give us a new land to conquer, new levels, new bosses and enemies, not just a damn re-skin with somewhat altered controls.
new levels = awesome finally a re-release that has worthwhile additions not just some multiplayer crap or "slightly enhanced graphics" or a damn rush mode, etc
