Molyneux is a fan who wants to see Nintendo games on non-Nintendo platforms and realizes that tablets and smartphones are the only way that's going to happen... and that's not going to happen. If Nintendo is going to indefinitely compete in the video game market, it needs their first-party IPs to define their way. They're the best games in the industry and their platforms being the only way to them is a /huge/ selling point.

I don't mind that, personally. If you can make that game worth playing multiple times, then I'd definitely call it a winner in my book. Few games do that nowadays for me.

I think they're both short-sighted jerks. Animal Crossing has raked in over 900 hours of my life and I have a couple dozen titles that have raked in 20-hours or more EACH. Shoot, I still play my Wii games on my Wii U AND my old Wii has found new life in my living room for play with friends and family.

Stuff like this is just the start. Eventually, there will be a new law passed down on the Internet and the wild west of online practices will be gone. Goodbye, LulzSec, goodbye, Anonymous. This change is inevitable and it'll be up to the users to adapt. I'm not saying it'll be like SOPA, PIPA, or CISPA, but something will be done in a regulation sense.

The biggest problem is the death of an effective rental medium, like what we once had with Blockbuster and the Ma & Pa video stores. This is keeping new ideas from getting their legs. And who is to blame? Our favorite pawn shop, GameStop, who not only kills the attempt at new IPs with their business model of the used game sales, but also the perpetuated the cartel of game retail pricing. The sad thing is, I have no idea how this gets better. It may end up killing the medium in the long run.

How about they start making up for lost time with some Final Fantasy re-releases on Wii U or 3DS? FF7 and FF9 on 3DS would look fantastic.

Stating the obvious, but I can't entirely disagree. You know what else would help? Competing in a world that doesn't have a chain of video game stores that have a monopoly on used game sales, focuses things so that only games they want succeed in the industry, and consistently steal money from publishers and designers with their used games cartel.

I'm not worried about the PS4. Sure, it's powerful, but if powerful is all it does, then why would developers develop for it if the PS3 can do similar at cheaper development costs. I've never heard any developer complain about being limited by the PS3's schematics. PS4 just sounds like bigger for the sake of bigger, which doesn't excite me as a gamer. What new potential in gameplay can be done on the PS4 besides giving me another reason for my friends not to come over and just stay home and watch me play games?

I don't say this out of Nintendo loyalty, but out of just wondering. What's the big deal about the PS4?

I asked Nintendo about these games being released on the PlayStation Vita. I, uh, ended up being thrown out of Reggie's office... into a sewer... leading into the Pacific Ocean... after some sharks just got released... and I smelled like smelt.

A demo. A demo? A DEMO?!?! WHEN WE WERE THREE WEEKS AWAY FORM THE FULL GAME BEFORE THE SUITS DECIDED TO BE SCROOGE McDUCK?!

...Yeah, this really doesn't make up for anything at all. =P

Will I boycott this game? Yes. For the PS3 and 360 to show them it wasn't worth the delay. Will I buy this game for Wii U when it's released? Yes... but not likely at launch. It's important these suits know they can't push around Nintendo fans like this.
