I was in the mood for a good puzzle game and picked it up tonight. Got through all 30 levels in an hour. Definitely agree that a score or timer would add incentive to replay the levels. Tough to post bragging rights on Miiverse without that. Still, it was enjoyable and worth the $2.

This game is remarkable. The 3-D is so good. I have it at around 75% and there's no eye strain at all. It's closer to arcade perfect than any other version. The game itself does get a little repetitive, but even as a casual fan of the game I know I spent more than $6 in quarters on it, so this is definitely worth grabbing now.

It was a pretty average fighting game after the novelty of it wore off. If anyone really wants to play it they can probably find the game used for around $20 and then you can pay for all the DLC and still have it cheaper than the Ultimate edition.

Ugghh... I remember this book. I bought it for a 10 hour car-ride for a family vacation. Just flat out awful on every level. It guaranteed that despite being a young Nintendo junkie I would never pick up a Worlds of Power book again. Hell it was so bad I'm surprised I ever picked up a book again.

its funny how much nostalgia can affect a game so much. This was one of the first nes games I ever played and I'm not even sure I enjoyed it back then. But I will still play this today and oddly enough have fun despite it being unplayable in some spots.

I loved River City Ransom. One of the all time great 8 bit games. I'd grab this in a heart beat. As it is, since I don't own a Vita and don't plan on getting a PS4 for a while, and I don't use my PC to game, a Wii U or 3DS version is the only way I'd play it. I wonder why no PS3 version... I guess they're not planning it on coming out for a while?

I have a bad feeling they won't make the goal though I'd live to see this game. That video is really awful due to all the attempts at humor. Plus they need to commit to console versions even if it means asking for more money, and not as stretch goals. Plus their timing is not good. Kickstarters for Mighty 9, Shantae and others have made for a really crowded place and time.

I also kind of considered the $.30 game program pretty darn close to the Ambassador program. If Nintendo wanted to reconsider I think that's the route they should go, and offer nearly free games again. Tough to complain at that price point.

I wonder if they'll "edit" some of the leaders. The guy who has clocked in the most time playing has pretty clearly just left his system on. Last I checked his time spent playing was 137 hours and the next closest person was in the 40's.

I'm curious about it. The creator of the game, Yasuhiro Wada, kind of made it in response to the Harvest Moon series focusing too much on the social aspect of the game, and losing the balance that he originally intended between working and playing so to speak.

@unrandomsam Disney and Nintendo also have a business relationship in place. A lot of Disney games (including Wreck It Ralph) are exclusive to Nintendo consoles. So the use of Bowser was just an example of the "you scratch my back, I scratch yours" relationship they have in place.

manpretty commented on Review: Harvest Moon (Wii U eShop / Super Nint...:

@C-Olimar - The original Harvest Moon is a little more basic than HM64. For the most part, all the same elements are there but there are less of them. Fewer crops to grow, fewer villagers, fewer festivals, etc. It's still fun though, but it does get repetitive quickly. The only real negative is that there is almost nothing to do in the Winter.

Sadly Natsume has said time and time again that they cannot bring Harvest Moon 64 to the Virtual Console, so this may be the one chance for retro Harvest Moon gaming that we'll get for a while.

When I was a kid this was a highly sought after NES game because it was nearly impossible to find, and yet the description of the game made it seem so cool. And now when I get to play it. . . 25 years of hype right down the drain.

It's great if they're fixing it for bugs, but I'm unlikely to pick it up. It was going to be one of the games to fill up my July, but at this rate I'm just going to hold off and save my money for the August line-up of games.
