maneauleau commented on Editorial: Nintendo's Problems With Trends and...:

This article make it sounds like Nintendo games won't be on Youtube anymore. People don't go on Youtube to see Mr X streaming this game. And when they do then they don't really care about that game they just care about Mr X. And Mr X has never really been streaming Nintendo games beforehand so...

In any case people go on Youtube to check the game out so it does not matter who plays it. There will still be many Youtube videos with Nintendo games from Nintendo channel, from Treehouse, from game sites, from enthusiast not caring for money, from enthusiast caring for money etc...

I am not saying theirs ways are the best but I don't think their games are really suffering from this.

I am surprised you did not mention the StarFox levels in Smash. I think they are gorgeous and really showcase what the mood and graphics of a StarFox Wii U could be like. In any case they have me hyped every time I play them.

"Miyamoto also hinted — but didn't confirm — that the next Mario title might be reserved for Nintendo's next console, rather than the Wii U"
I am sorry but I don't see that hint in what he says. He just says that we will see a Mario game in the next console.

The unique tastes of the creator along with his intrinsic artistic talent, his hard earned freedom and his passion already show on the small trailer. I will definitely pick this one up. Thanks for the nice interview and the link to Kingdom Grand Prix game which I didn't know.

maneauleau commented on Talking Point: What's Next For amiibo?:

Nintendo definitely need to make amiibo appealing to kids if they want to succeed. And so far this implementation is not appealing to kids. Nintendo won't be successful with amiibo if they only rely on Nintendo fans. These sold out reports are only indication of limited supply and eager fans. The kids/parents that are buying the amiibo now are going to be disappointed when realising that the fun isn't there and won't be coming back for more. I hope we see a glimpse of something in a direct in January.

If only they at least allowed friend sharing levels that could have become a way to prevent "mature" stage from proliferating and still secure some form of sharing.
Oh well I guess I will do some old school copy then ^^
Nice vids btw

@sinalefa Well that might be true for you but I'd like to have the choice because I actually have fun unlocking stuff and seeing what I am unlocking.
It's not the end of the world I just hope this is not a new trend or that next time they'll leave us the option to choose.

@rjejr I am not sure about the items but I am sure the characters, trophies and achievements are all shared.
I know it's absurd and it's also absurd none of the reviewers talked about that. I mean surely lot of Wii U owners share their console with their kids or siblings.
It could have been nice as an option to let us have the choice.

Nintendo doesn't need to release a phone they need to release phone apps that act as baits to attract phone users to Nintendo devices. They also need to release a phone app for current Nintendo users. We should see something next year. Better late than never.
Phones have crap batteries and ergonomics: Phones are not gaming devices.

maneauleau commented on White Wii U 8GB System Trade Price Has Been Sl...:

32GB is nowhere useful if you go the digital route. Concrete example? I bought Ken's Rage 2 on the eShop since it's only available digitally and it's almost half of that space that vanished. White model is really attractive now especially since the deluxe digital program linked with the black model runs out at the end of the month. If you are in for a Wii U go for this it's dirt cheap. This bundle is fantastic http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Party-Mario-Super-World/dp/B00P68FY0M/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1416941449&sr=8-4&keywords=wii+u+console

These are great fantastic marvellous deals especially since not only as said above that even with 32Gb you need an external HD but also because the deluxe digital promotion, linked to the black 32GB model, ends end of December of this year anyway.

maneauleau commented on Review: Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (Wii U):

@Prime well actually I should have said he is 6. We have these games but it's too advanced for him. Also he likes Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 but it's not as easy and brainless as Skylanders for example. I was looking forward to Sonic Boom for him but it looks like even for him it might be a bad fit

maneauleau commented on Talking Point: The amiibo Range Grows, Yet Key...:

For now I think it's better to buy amiibo only if you are interested in having the physical figurines and not to focus too much on whatever you might get from these figurines on the games it's compatible with. In this way you are not disappointed and can only be pleasantly surprised.

I think this attitude is the best at least until we know more about Nintendo's plan or strategy which is totally unclear probably because they are still figuring it out.

The "funny thing" is that I see people complaining that Nintendo didn't go down the route of Skylanders/Disney because they made amiibo an optional thing. It's true that it would be better for Nintendo go down that route if they wanted to make more money but that's not why these people are upset. They are upset because they feel amiibo is "useless".

But Nintendo is being very clever, careful and respectful of players by not locking cool or mandatory content behind plastic figurines. They respect the players but at the same time they offer a range figurines for the fans who like to collect them and they reward them with little bonuses in various games.

I feel it's definitely a noble and different approach. And hopefully they still manage to make money this way. But once again that doesn't mean it will always be like that. I think if amiibo becomes really popular with 3DS and all, we might see an amiibo specific game. Who knows maybe it will be even a free download.

maneauleau commented on Nintendo Download: 6th November (Europe):

While I think that's it's very good that you can buy a digital version of Disney Infinity especially since young children tend to scratch CDs. I still find the price a bit expensive without the discount knowing that you still need to buy the physical version too.
