@Hy8ogen it would be wicked sweet to have a Capcom/Nintendo partnership, much like the one they have with Sega. Like you said, all I want is a new MegaMan game. C'mon Nintendo pony up some publishing dough and make that happen! Legends as well while you're at it. :-P

JQuest commented on Screenshots Disabled in Comic Workshop Miivers...:

I think the problem people are having is the clear oversight on Nintendo's part to even allow Miiverse sharing just to do an about face. And obvously it would suck if they disabled it at all in the first place, because sure, you can share your work via Image Share and save the work to your SD card, but your Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr audience is most likely not the same audience as the Miiverse community, where as you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that people are in the Comic Workshop community to look at other people's work. Posting to Miiverse > posting to social media at large.

On one hand, I agree with @Great_Gonzalez that we need to blame the people posting unacceptable images, but at the same time it doesn't make it suck any less. Perhaps a happy medium like this would be that perhaps when developers make games like this they should have to hire their own Miiverse mods? I don't know. I still enjoy this piece of software anyways.

JQuest commented on Mario Kart 8 Secures Place as Top-Selling SKU ...:

@Agent721 @jrob23 we also need to remember that Mario Kart 8 is a long tail game. I wouldn't be surprised if it starts moving units again during the holiday. But yea, like Agent said, it's pretty solid numbers in comparison to previous figures. Hopefully this signals a turnaround, at least in the moderate sense.

@kurtasbestos

It was all a dream!
No wait... you play from the perspective of a ghost!
Or... you were responsible for the murder in question!
Just kidding, aliens!
I mean, it's a flash-forward to the future when you solve the mystery of your own death in the past!

Those aren't all bad. Weren't a few of those scenarios alt endings for the first couple Silent Hill titles? Of course those were excellent games, so there's that :-)

Now you can't have your cake and eat it too. You complain about games like Skyward Sword holding your hand, then finally a game comes along and gives you no tutorial and you give it a hard time. ;-)

Okay seriously, the developer actually gave you a copy to review? I wouldn've been way too ashamed to do that. Lol. I give you guys props for the thought you put in the review :-)

JQuest commented on Talking Point: Should Nintendo Be Promoting Th...:

@gatorboi352 Google provided a nifty streetview app for Wii U, so maybe they wouldn't need Skype. Google could provide a Hangouts app. I'm sure a good chunk of Wii U owners have a Google account now due to MKTV

Concerning the article, they should avoid marketing it as a tablet, because of the Gamepad limitations, but it wouldn't hurt to try to sway app developers to developing for the Wii U, so as long as it's paticular apps that would enhance the Wii U and not like the iOS or Play Store where it's crammed with a million apps that do the same thing.

Hopefully Nintendo's next system expands on the Gamepad idea and it doubles as a beast portable unit as well.

I finished with a meager 135. Back to the practice track it is! Some of you guys are boss on the track what's your secret? Maybe I'm not using the right combo of racer/kart/wheels.

Bright spot of my time (outside of all the fun I had) I managed to get in a group with @ThomasBW84. It was an honor and pleasure getting smoked by you! Haha

Even if it sells one system, it technically makes it a system seller, no? :-) Semantics aside, by the time this game comes out it may not even need to move systems if the Wii U install base is robust enough. Polish the game, put some marketing behind it, Devil's Third could see a decent return.

I hadn't logged a whole lot of online hours on MK Wii, so excuse my ignorance, but how did modders/cheaters sully the online experience?

I applaud the efforts of those who have the ingenuity of creating things like Homebrew and finding exploits, but I am with everyone who says it sets a bad precedent for the wrong people to do bad things, so I hope this doesn't exploit doesn't get very far.

@vamkar

I'd rather Konami release TMNT IV at the Nintendo eShop instead of that movie adaptation anytime.

This all day!... I also wouldn't mind the original arcade game ported over and since I'm in a greedy mood this evening, perhaps Hyperstone and Tournament Fighters? :-D

I agree with everyone in hoping that Bayo 2 does well! I'd ultimately like to see a greater relationship between Platinum and Nintendo. Nintendo would be wise to heavily promote this game and not let it fall into the rut that the W101 did. It was an excellent game, but boy did the lack of marketing stink!

@StarDust4Ever

"Nintendo really needs to take a note from Sony's playbook and set up a cross buy system. I'm sick of double dipping Virtual Console titles between 3DS and Wii-U"

This x100! My wallet cries every time, especially with Shovel Knight. I ended up buying Castlevania for the Wii U, as I know it's a lot more forgiving on my thumbs/hands than it would be for the 3DS (which is usually a common theme for me with games like this and SMB3) I don't know if Nintendo is listening to me, but on every survey that I take for Club Nintendo, I make sure to mention they need a cross-buy systems in place for VC games or at least a reasonable discount if you buy the same game for both systems.

JQuest commented on Nintendo Download: 26th June (North America):

@Zodiak13 @SavoirFaire Thanks guys! My main concern was a glitchy experience that some of the initial Wii U ports had at launch. I can't afford to put in long gaming sessions anymore, so it locking up on me probably won't be much of an issue. Though now that I think of it, All DLC was included on disc, (IIRC) which automatically makes it the better deal.

@ThomasBW84 Thanks! I'll keep my eye out for that update ;-)

JQuest commented on Nintendo Download: 26th June (North America):

Good gosh! That's a ton of choice this week. I feel like Shovel Knight are one of those titles that could greatly benefit from a cross-buy system.

To anybody that here that has Darksiders II for the Wii U that's willing to entertain me, how does the Wii U version stack up vs the other platforms it's on?

Also, @ThomasBW84 Have you guys considered using check boxes as opposed to radio buttons? You know, for the folks that will pick up multiple titles? I plan on getting Shovel Knight (Both), Wii U Sports, Castlevania III and probably a few of the Ubi games, but I can only choose one on the poll!!! ARRRRGGGH! :-D

JQuest commented on Talking Point: Nintendo Should Beware the Slip...:

@Iggly just don't post any Luigi Death Stare videos and such here ;-) lol

Concerning the article. I always enjoy Nintendolife's style of writing, paticularly these talking point articles to foster discussion. The whole Sponsored DLC stuff is kinda 'meh' for me, as in I don't really care one way or the other as long as it's not overboard (think NASCAR and how logos are slapped all over the race cars)

I said in an earlier article when we first found out about the Mercedes DLC that it looks bit out of place and maybe they should have just stylized the car to fit it with the other aesthetics, but the more I think about it, the more it just looks like Mario in a Mercedes Power Wheel. Not a big deal if you ask me...

JQuest commented on Nintendo TVii Update Adds New Features and Imp...:

TVii is pretty much useless to me now. It was cool at first, but XBOX's OneGuide and built in IR blaster blows it away. That could be due to the fact that my setup was never supported. Never got that TiVo support they said it would have for one, so I could never control my DVR. Though TVii was great for live content with all the polls and such, but now even that is useless, unless I use Time Warner's guide data, because now I have Google Fiber and TVii doesn't list them as a provider in my area. Which circles back around to DVR support, being that there are no remote codes for the Google Fiber TV box.

Though at least I still have the volume and input switch functions for my TV, so it's still the first remote I grab if I need TV functions outside of changing channels.

JQuest commented on Capcom Could Be Up For Sale After Shareholders...:

I echo the sentiments of those who said Nintendo should just buy the ips that's important to the Nintendo brand. That or maybe Sega should buy. The problem with Nintendo buying the whole hog is that it will add more ips to their portfolio that will never get used. Heck, Nintendo has an extensive amount of ips they don't capitalize on.

I shudder at the thought of Sony or Microsoft buying Capcom, being that the other two platforms will lose out playing some of their favorite games. And Lord only knows what will happen to the digital licenses of games downloaded on rival systems... (though that's worse case scenario that probably wouldn't happen)

@SavoirFaire you'll see every game as you originally placed them on your home screens (or whatever they call those tiles) Though any drive you attach to the Wii U, the system will default future downloads to that until it's detached, I think. You can absolutely play straight from the flash drive.

JQuest commented on Developers Weigh In On The Way Forward For Wii U:

@FragRed that's true, that was just an answer to the guy who was complaining about no announcement of GameCube games. There's still a bunch of games from the Wii's VC we've yet to see.

@Darknyht at this point, I wouldn't be surprised when Nintendo's next system(s) come around, they'll pool all of their first and second party resources and release a barrage titles at launch, seeing how Third parties treated the Wii U. Hopefully they'll spend some money in marketing on that go around. In the meantime I'll just continue to enjoy my Wii U like yourself ;-)

JQuest commented on Developers Weigh In On The Way Forward For Wii U:

@LEGENDnoONE let's not forget Nintendo has this thing they do called Directs, which sometimes yield information on new games. I wouldn't be surprised if the filled in their catalog by announcing more games via that format. But hey if Wii U isn't your cup of tea, fine.

Also, if they have anything to announce about GameCube games, I don't think it's happening til close to time for the release of Smash, being that's when we'll likely see the GameCube adapter...

JQuest commented on Feature: A Cross-Platform Look At E3 2014:

@ekreig I feel ya on that. I was about ready to pull the trigger on the Vita but it doesn't have a whole lot coming out for it. Though I may eventually get one if another price drop is in the cards, if only to play my PS3/4 remotely. Plus I have a huge backlog of Vita games from my Playstation+ sub. I also heard there are some games worth getting, but still not enough for me, considering the 3DS takes a good chunk of my portable time and I don't see that changing if I did get a Vita...

I need to play Other M just to see how good (or bad) it is! I hear such dividing comments about it. And it's actually the only Metroid game I've yet to play.

Maybe they'll do a dual release for the Wii U and 3DS. The more traditional one for the 3DS and a Prime-esque game for the U. The Samus amiibo will connect the two in some way.

JQuest commented on E3 2014: Nintendo Won't Bring Live Twitch Stre...:

We all know it's in part about Nintendo controlling their IPs, though I still think it's a good decision. Most of the content on Twitch from what I've seen on my PS4 and XB1 isn't all that interesting or fun to watch. I've used the service maybe three, four times. I'm more or less into the organized eSports like EVO and what Nintendo did with the Smash Invitational. On the other hand, I do like MKTV feature in Mario Kart 8 and more broadly, recording quick clips of gaming on Sony and Microsoft's respective service to share with my gaming friends, but all that can be done with a good capture card.

For those who know more about live streaming than I do, isn't there a way to stream Wii U games in a roundabout way without relying on the Wii U's hardware anyways?

JQuest commented on E3 2014: Hyrule Warriors Not Part of Zelda Tim...:

Since it's an alternate universe and all, I think it would be pretty damn sweet if we get to play as Ganondorf.

As far as canon, non-canon concerned, with the mixture of characters and such from the different Zelda games, an easy plot device to explain things could be that Shea, which comes from some alternate Zelda universe, gets corrupted by the Triforce of Power and somehow causes a tear in the Zeldaverse, thus merging all the timelines in the process. Naturally by the end of it order, is restored and all the characters are sent back to their universes. Of course memories of the whole ordeal not intact (but a speck of it still there as if it was some sort of dream) Boom. You've sort of officially placed it in the timeline in a roundabout way.

That's how I would've written it anyways. Of course some of that may already be part of the plan... :-)

@MagicBox kudos! You said just about everything I was thinking and said it better than I may have had! I 100% agree!

Hopefully next year (or even in years to come) as they get comfortable with this format that they open things up to the wider viewing audience by what the article briefly touched on: polls, live tweeting, taking select questions from viewers at home ect... I think Nintendo is on to something big here and it can only get better!

JQuest commented on E3 2014: Reggie Fils-Aime Reaffirms Nintendo's...:

@dkxcalibur yea my Gamepad's reach is abysmal it just barely works in my room which is about 20 feet away from where my Wii U is located. Of course, living in the city with a bunch of other neighborhood wireless interference doesn't help. Compound the fact that I have a laptop, PC, wireless printer, all my 7th and 8th Gen systems, a Vita, 3DS, Roku 3, Chromecast and my phone and tablets, Signal degradation is to be expected, really. I find that when I turn off my extra devices and disable Wifi on anything I'm not using, it helps with my Gamepad strength.

Though I'm not complaining because I absolutely love the thing!

@MAB yea, my hand is pretty much cramping at the thought of playing smash on the 3DS. I'm getting anyways, but the cramped layout is the reason I've never finished MK7 or put much time in Super Street Fighter IV anymore (though Capcom helped alleviate that problem by placing the supers and ultras on the touch screen)

JQuest commented on E3 2014: Did Zelda Williams Just Tease Majora'...:

@ikki5 I know, I know.. I'm playing the game of semantics, but technically MM would be a new title for the 3DS, given the fact that it hasn't been on the platform before. There was another hint in A Link Between Worlds, being that the mask showed up in that game, for what it's worth.

I think it's happening, personally, but you never know with Nintendo. They seem to be the masters of trolling. You know they're listening too! Remember on Spike's VGX, Reggie wore the Metroid pin, and nothing came out of that? Then the heckler in the Digital Event yesterday that was asking about Mother 3? I think Nintendo likes to tease us and release things on their own sweet time. HAHA.
