Some people will never get it regarding console generations. For those who understand no explanation is necessary, for those that don't no explanation is possible.

Claiming one console has better exclusives than another is like saying you have a better music collection than another person with a different musical preference, and claiming it to be scientific fact.

Considering where the Wii U was this time last year this is a big turn around. Remember "intelligent" people like Pratcher saying the Wii U will die in 2014 as things will probably get worse for the console.

It is still stormy weather for the console but it looks far from sinking.

SSB should be the third 1m seller in the US.

Having a boatful of money doesn't mean it is intelligent to throw it away. Xbox existence has more to do with shareholders than any CEO. Xbox has been bleeding money and some investors are fed up. They want MS to concentrate more on other things other than violent games.
Recently Bill Gates reiterated that selling Xbox was not totally out of the question. I rather take his words onboard than the fanboys who think MS and xbox will last forever.

"Having no intention to sell" is not the same as "We definitely won't sell". I should know, I hear it all the time in my business.

Calm down people. Since 2007 there were headlines about the Wii being taken of the market because of infringements.

It's just the UK. Even if the unimaginable happens, which is unlikely, it's no big deal.

Companies that win these cases don't usually ask for the product to be taken off the market unless it is competing directly with one of their own. In the unlikely case of this judgement being upheld Philips will take the money. Selling the system is more important because it makes them money rather than taking it of the market which leaves them with nothing.

Nothing will come of this to directly affect selling the Wii U. If the worst happens then Nintendo can simply drop the Wii bar and remote from the Wii U. It is hardly required in most games these days anyway.

I totally agree. Before the Wii U launched I thought a good approach would have been to position it as a second console to XB1 and PS4 gamers as well as it's fan base.

By developing a strong library of diverse exclusives the Wii U could create its own niche part in this industry.

Instead Nintendo put their faith in third parties that ridicule the system and dropped it after bad sales. Leaving droughts that Nintendo was forced to fill themselves.
I really hope they go this way rather than be yet another copycat PS4/XB1/PC.

If third parties want to bring something let them but Nintendo seems to be finally learning that they have to depend on themselves.

No, the motion control system along with Wii Sports sold the Wii.

Wii Sports played on a normal controller won't have sold a damn thing.

The motion controls and ANY software that incorporated it would have sold the Wii.

The motion controller was unique and that's what sold the Wii, thinking anything else is delusional.

The gamepad is the most expensive dedicated console controller in the world. Just the other day, a couple days before MK8 launched my gamepad refused to turn on or charge. In a panic I perused the internet looking for a solution, fearing I would have to buy another wii u as the controller is not sold seperately. Thank the gods I found a fix.
Yes, I know you can use a different controller but thats not the point. I then realised that athough I dont really think about it much, how much I would miss the gamepad if it wasn't there.
Here I am watching E3 on my TV through the Wii U and typing up this post on the gamepad.
It also highlighted that a broken gamepad pretty much means a new wii u.

Watchdogs sold far better on PS4 and XB1 than on PS3 and X360. Why do you say such nonsense? To convince yourself otherwise.

PS4 sales doubled.
Watchdogs sales:
PS4 1.8m
XB1 900k
PS3 430k
X360 470k

Please stop the lies. I too love Nintendo but hate lies and deliberate misinformation.

UbiSoft made good use of the gamepad with Zombi U so I wouldn't be surprise if it is that feature that kept the game away from the other consoles... initially.

UbiSoft tried more than most to support the console so they have my respect but I am not deluded enough not to see that financially, continuing to support the Wii u is looking like a lost cause.

As for WatchDogs I am puzzled. With no release date issued I wouldn't be surprised if the game is dropped. I understand why UbiSoft did what they did with the Wii U version.

1) It was up against MK8 the same week.
2) Wait and see if MK8 and E3 gives the a Wii U a boost and hence a bigger market to launch that version of WatchDogs into.

If I was CEO of UbiSoft I would do the same thing. The game may have been developed with the believe that the Wii U would have sold a lot more by now.

This is business, not a game. This is real life. Why waste a load of money releasing and marketing a game that 95% Nintendo fans will probably never buy. .

Releasing this game will probably be throwing money away.
